First of all, you have to have realistic expectations for a cue stick that’s less than $50. So, given the price point, this cue is pretty decent deal. It was advertised as a 20 oz cue but mine had a sticker on the butt cap that stated it was a 19 oz. When I weighed mine it came in at 19.5 oz, so exactly midway between the product description and the label, I’ll tell you what. The finish has a bit of an orange peel look to it; I would have liked a thicker clear coat over the rainbow paint scheme. The cue stick had a slight warp to it when rolling it on my table, but it wasn’t too bad. In fact, it’s head over heels better when compared to the set of one piece house cues that I had originally purchased from a big brand in the billiard industry for guests to use, which were only slightly less expensive. The leather tip seems to be more like 13mm. I spent a good deal of time shaping the tip to a nickel curve which I felt would be a good enough for guests. Of course this means you should have a nice tip shaping tool at your disposal. The cue hits pretty solidly, and makes a nice sound when striking the cue ball, so the tip appears to be well glued. At 58”, it is a bit shorter than most of my other cues. Lastly, I believe the joint pin is 5/16 x 18, but I’m not positive.

For the price, this pool cue really impressed me. The Canadian maple wood feels solid and well-balanced, and it stays straight with no noticeable issues during play. Well made pool cue, easy to use, feels great when using, works as intended, securely screws together, great value for the price. We'll see how well these will hold up. I was initially going to rate this 4 stars, but at this price point, it's a pretty solid cue. It's nothing pro level, but great for beginners or casual players. I didn't initially notice until my girlfriend mentioned it, but the rainbow colors are not in rainbow color order. If that sort of thing bothers you, then you might want to skip this one, but for us it's fine. Played a few games after shaping the cue and it hits pretty solid. There's a very slight warp but it's so minimal that it doesn't really affect us casual players. The clear coat looks nice and provides an ok grip. It's comfortable to hold and it's 19oz weight feels good to use. All things considered, this works well and will replacr one of the highly warped cues we have. Great value cue.

I’ve been a fan of playing pool my entire life. Grew up with a pool table in the basement, played in college at the tourney level so I’ve played with some pretty decent sticks. Comparatively, for an entry level wood stick this cue is honestly great for what it is. I’ve seen some other reviews saying it’s not worth it or has issues etc. but honestly I haven’t found any. Sure it’s not carbon fiber, or anything fancy but at the price it doesn’t need to be. My cue is straight as an arrow, I haven’t been able to find any warp in it. The tip is solid, I did need to grind a little bit of glue off before I chalked it for the first time, but that’s to be expected with most new cues. It has a nice solid weight to it at 19oz. It makes for a great break cue, but I’ve also played full games with it and really enjoyed its action. It’s miles better than any bar cue out there, especially the ones in bars near me. My only critique would be that I wish the handle was wrapped, but that’s something I can add myself. It would’ve been nice if they included a cheap case too, but again beggars can’t be choosers. They do include a shooting glove but I haven’t used that. Overall for a shoot around stick when I don’t want to bring my expensive cues, it can’t be beat.

This almost got 3 stars for the wrong reasons. I like to give all products a fair shake. I hope yours comes with the same bonus mine did. A right-handers (fits left hand) pool glove came with the stick. You could tell it was a large on my XL hand, but I used it anyway, and with success I might add. I've never used a glove before. It was great. No need for powder, so NO MESS! I played 4 games with the stick this evening. I lost the first, getting use to it, but won the last three. This stick is fine for what it was designed for, beginners. They likely would not notice the blemish (a divot right in the sliding zone) on this particular stick. It about drove me mad, but I worked with it anyway. As for the 4 stars versus 3 stars, I rolled the stick on our bowling alley table this evening and it wasn't ":true" at all. I used that as an excuse for losing the first game. My opponent said "it's not that stick, it this bleeping table." I said "you may be right" and we laughed it off. When I got home this evening, I rolled it across my own table, and in fact, it rolled true like a nice straight stick should. I like to backup or disprove my findings. I would therefore rate this at a 4-1/2 stars if possible, the only issue being the uncomfortable divot in the sliding zone. I love the glove and will now get one in XL, as it improved my game more than the stick did. Thank you for allowing my opinion. PS. It also stand out in my new pool cue rack!
