I've never really done any electrical work, but this was super easy to install and kinda fun! It comes with an adapter, so I was able to just return the other adapter that I bought. Great product! My only complaint is that the name of the company has changed, so the inconsistency between the name on the thermostat and the actual company now was a bit confusing to set up the online account. I had to replace the existing thermostat which was not programmable, but instead controlled by a whole house control system. The old thermostat and control system were totally unacceptable. So I'm changing out the five zones' controls with these Honeywell 7-day remote-sensor thermostats. This was the first of five. I was holding my breath that it would work as expected so I could go ahead and buy the other four. Long story short, this thermostat is extremely user-friendly, uses a remote sensor (bought separately) and is controlling the one zone to which it is connected PERFECTLY! I LOVE IT! MY WIFE LOVES IT! Yes, I will proceed to buy more of them. Five total needed; I just ordered #2 today. This is a huge success story and I whole-heartedly recommend this Honeywell thermostat and remote sensor. My thermostat was installed out in the hall and not in either of the rooms I occupy. This thermostat and its remotes has allowed me to run the thermostat using one remote or the other depending on where I am. It works through an app that allows you to turn on and off the heat/ac and to choose which remote to use (or combinations of sensors). Installation was easy and the app is pretty simple and effective - it comes with lots of tools and tips to help install it on all kinds of systems. Fortunately, for me the defaults all just worked. The only problem is that there are several deceptively named apps in the Apple Appstore that sound like the right thing, but aren't. 11/24 Update: I dont know if they were listening, but the Alexa skill is now working (at least for me) and I have no complaints about this item anymore. Original review: As a thermostat, it works great. Easy to use, simple to program from either the app or the unit. -3 stars for false advertising, this device is NOT ALEXA ENABLED. How can you claim it works with Alexa when your NECESSARY SKILL has a rating of 1 star because IT NEVER WORKS. Remove any mention of Alexa until your programmers pull their heads out of their backsides and do their job right, finally! ... show more

This thermostat was easy to install (I'm tech savvy) and works very well. I do like the satellite feature and the app to control the settings from anywhere. The temperature averaging did help the overall temperature in the house until we got the ducting fixed... Now it works even better. If you need geofencing reliably this may not be the product for you. I have never had it work reliably. However, it may be because some of the connected devices are cheaper/older phones. It may work more reliably with newer higher end devices. ... show more
