So this is a uniquely designed airplane it comes with 2 batteries a charging wire an a extra set of propellers an is ready to fly rgt out of the box an it looks more like a racing boat of sorts an by looking at it u would think it would definitely float in the water but wouldn't think it would fly but it definitely flies an does so well this was the first rc plane I ever flew an it took a bit of practice to get good with it which is to be expected an I must say that its durable to because I crashed it numerous times without damaging it I did hit a tree so hard that one of the propellers came off but did no damage to the plane an I couldn't find it so I ended up purchasing some 2 blade propellers because I couldn't find the 3 blade propellers like it came with but I believe it flies a little better with the 2 blade propellers it seemed to make the steering an throttle response a little snappier an although I haven't fully ran it in water I did try it in a little pond on my property an it floats well an seemed to move through the water quite well also the included 3 channel controller has a good range to it an I haven't had any issues with the controls responding like they should. As with most rc airplanes I would recommend that you have a big area such as a open field to fly it takes a bit of area to turn it around an if u have never flown a plane u will need plenty of room to get the feel of the controls an over time u will figure out that once u properly work the controls u can turn it around in much less space an u can really get the little plane moving fast if you choose. so overall I would definitely recommend this little plane I got this to learn how to fly with intentions of eventually building a big plane an I believe this is great for learning an u will definitely have fun flying it especially once u start getting good with it an are able to do some fancy flying the controls are very responsive and set up similar to a drone so if u have experience with drones like I did then u will figure out how to precision fly pretty quick it only took me several times of flying before I started feeling comfortable an confident with the controls the biggest difference between the plane an a drone is u gota be a little faster on the controls with the plane but I think the planes are more fun to fly because they are faster and more challenging also being a smaller plane u should avoid flying if its windy which is typical with any rc flying device

Ordered this for an activity with my kids. This can take off from grass or water likely as it's super light and floats per Styrofoam construction. The whole box weighs practically nothing. Not sure what that means for crashes or durability but it is cool. Has 1 joystick for throttle and 1 for rudder control. Plane has li ion battery to charge via USB and remote control is 3x aaa batteries (not included). Will update after the test when the weather permits but looks fun! Update: took it out and lots of fun! Comes with 2 li ion batteries for quite a long time to fly. Actually only used one battery before lost control of the plane. And I think it may have been the aaa remote out of range or power (not sure, but remote beeped before it went down). Unfortunately it fell into blackberry brush in out of bounds area at our local park and then it was game over, while I went and found a pole to retrieve it. On the plus side, it's tougher than it looks as I was able to wriggle it out with the pole almost intact, though I did lose the rudder control wire. It flies well but I wouldn't take it out on the water first as it's faster than you think and goes far pretty fast; you're likely to lose it on your first flight, espeically if you flip it on landing. Also I found it wouldn't take off from the grass so flew it from my hand, all gas. It's not super loud but it being buzzy, and kinda fast, u need space and one that's free of people, lest u take someone out. It's not a drone so it's harder to control in congested environments. That being said the kids (and I) loved it and it totally works as advertised!

This plane is so fun especially for beginners. It flies very easily and very well. It's easy to control with the remote and is very durable. It has already survived several rough landings (crashes). We have had an enormous amount of fun with it, and it would make an excellent gift.

This RC plane is great. I was worried it might be too difficult for my 14 year old son to fly, but the plane has gyroscopes or something and it practically flies itself. You can see the plane attempting to level itself and straiten out even when you hold it. It can fly surprising slow if needed and my son can land the plane in a grass flied, have it turn around and take off again without touching it. It's had many minor crashes with minimal damage to the body. The propellers are sort of protected because they sit more towards the middle of the plane. It can supposedly take off from water, but I didn't want to chance it. I'm not certain how well the electronics would handle getting wet if it flipped over.

I have had another Styrofoam plane before, but gotta say this one is so much lighter and has a lot of torque from those 2 tiny motors. So far, we have just tried flying it in a small park and it's easy to control. We have yet to try the water. This Styrofoam will sure float, but do we trust ourselves not to flip it? Time will tell

This is a fun park type flyer. You can take off from grass, hard surface, water, or just hand launch it. It does take some getting used to with how it flies but it’s made well so will withstand crashes pretty well. This is best used on a calm day with little to no wind. It comes with controller, charger, and 2 batteries. It’s easy to charge up and get flying. There is no other setup needed.
