  • Incredible performance, but keep the "death grip" in check
Color: White
I’ve been using the Razer Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition for a while now, and overall, it’s a stellar controller. The accuracy is top-notch, and the general build quality feels premium and solid. The added paddles are honestly a game-changer and feel fantastic to use during fast-paced play. That said, there are a couple of things you should be aware of. The button triggers feel a bit "squishy" compared to other controllers I’ve used in the past; there is about a millimeter or two of play before you hit that satisfying click, which makes them feel slightly less premium than some competing brands. Also, a quick tip: this controller is definitely best suited for those with larger hands and a lighter touch. If you’re the type of gamer who tends to "death grip" your controller during intense moments, you might find yourself accidentally pressing the back paddles. If you can master a lighter grip, though, it's an absolute beast of a controller. ... show more

  • great controller with minor issues
Color: Black
I never had any issues with this controller such as stick drift, button going bad or bumpers going bad...none of that I bought both the tournament edition & the Pro version & the T.E. edition is better. The pro version disconnects, but not often. I use the T.E. edition for both xbox and PC & I love how versatile it is. My only 2 issues is #1 the razer app which you can't see what other profiles you have made from xbox to PC besides the only 4 programmable profiles, the other issue of this controller is the ergonomics, the handles part where you hold the controllers is too short. They should of kept the ergonomics from the first razer wolverine which the handles are longer. ... show more

  • Absolutely fantastic controller, IF you can get it to behave.
Color: Black
This controller has got a lot going for it, feels great in every way, I was used to dual rear paddles, but adapted quickly to 4 and stopped using front buttons completely. And the trigger locks have upped my game considerably, but it’s all for naught since this controller has some serious reliability flaws on PC. I play hours of competitive pvp daily and this controller will work fine for about a week or two before it starts exhibiting serious issues. 1st controller: worked solid for about two weeks before the haptic feedback would suddenly jump to max and keep vibrating excessively while jerking my aim in random directions, have to fight the stick to get it back on target and unplug the controller and replug it to stop the excessive vibrating. The issue is progressive, it started happening once every couple of days and slowly progressed until it was happening several times a match, totally unacceptable. I returned it for a replacement which was solid for about a week then suddenly began disconnecting in the middle of a match, constantly… I had about 10 disconnected controller errors in a 15 minute period. This was not a physical wire connection issue as others have had, pressing any button would immediately get the controller working and the error would go away until the next one popped up. Both controllers also have some stick drift on the left stick out of the box when set to 3% dead zone, but not terrible. Flicking the stick causes it to reset properly and stop drifting, my 2nd controller has the least drift. Setting the zone to 0% causes a lot of drift, so I keep it at 3%. In comparison, my gamesir T4 had zero drift with 0% dead zone, it took 7 months of daily use to cause just a tiny bit of drift at 0%, unfortunately the back buttons do not last and begin sticking after constant use, which led me to the Razer controller. I paid full price for the razer and did not get a free one, so this is my honest review of a $100 controller with serious glitches. Great packaging and premium feel (when it works.) amazon won’t give me a 3rd replacement, so I’ll just have to return for a refund, which is too bad because I really like this controller, but I can’t be out $100 for something that is giving me these kinds of problems when controllers for less than half the price don’t have these kinds of issues. I would steer clear; you can google the issues above and find that many people are having similar problems with this controller. One other issue I had with this controller on PC is that my keyboard and mouse will not work in game while this controller is connected. This prevents being able to utilize any sort of chat function or alternative control of your character while the controller inevitably glitches out. Even going into windowed mode to try and do something on the desktop while the game runs keeps my mouse function locked out, I have to ctrl+alt+delete to get it back. I've never encountered this issue with any other controller on PC. Also, as others have pointed out, the USB-C connection on this controller is as cheap as they come. It's the only physical part of the controller that feels like complete junk, it disconnects easily and wiggles under the weight of the cable right out of the box. Terrible oversight considering this is a wired only controller. If you're set on taking on the challenge of owning this controller, I would seriously suggest using a Mag safe usb-c style connection adapter so that you can minimize wear on the port. *Update* I had to downgrade my rating from 3 stars to 1 star. I thought I had been able to address the random disconnect error by using Xbox polling mode (250Mhz) instead of PC mode (1000mhz), this actually stopped the random d/c errors, and I was willing to use 250hz for reliability. However, a new problem entirely has emerged; the controller now just shuts itself off completely in the middle of a game. Pressing any button does nothing to turn it back on. I have to disconnect it from the PC and reconnect, then press the Xbox button repeatedly-almost like I'm giving the dumb thing CPR to get to 'come back to life.' A few times I thought it was dead completely because it didn't respond after repeated attempts, but it eventually comes back on, absolutely ridiculous. It's already cost me a competitive match, such unreliable junk unworthy of "Tournament" anywhere in its name. It's really unfortunate, because the Razer design team did a fantastic job on this controller, if only the hardware and software team were as good. Because for whatever reason, this controller is determined to misbehave no matter what you do to try to make it work. And I see this is a common theme across many of Razer's devices. ... show more

  • Don’t buy the elite controller! Get this!
Color: Black
The Razer Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition is a nice step up from the previous model. The underside button placement is much better and the buttons feel built to last. And those two extra buttons on the top are MONEY! I’ve had no drift at all on the sticks and after continuous daily use there are no signs of wear and tear on the buttons. One drawback is the USB connection. The cable plugs straight out the back without support, and mine started disconnecting from getting bumped. I added a 90-degree adapter and that solved the issue. I still wish it had replaceable thumb sticks in different heights, but extenders do the trick. Overall, it is a durable, responsive controller that feels great once you work around the USB port design. Beats the previous version and the elite controller hands down. ... show more

  • Amazing controller but has auto-disconnect issues after a few months
Color: Black
This controller pretty much fit everything specification that I wanted it to. Four back paddles, extra button customization, stick drift prevention, great sounding buttons, wired for better performance. HOWEVER. After about 3 months of owning this controller, it began to disconnect from my Xbox at random points with no method of prevention. I decided I'd change the cable to a different one; this worked...for another month. Then it had the same issue again, and I've been unable to fix it via all forms of troubleshooting. I won't say that this is ENTIRELY a dealbreaker, because when it works (and occasionally it still will for a few hours at a time) it is an amazing controller. But I can't really rate it higher than three stars due to the sheer amount of time that I have died in a multiplayer game because my controller decided to turn off in the middle of a fight. It is INFURIATING. Luckily, Razer offers a one-year warranty. Even with this issue, I still like this controller a million times better than the official Xbox ones. Somehow, even though this controller is not good and fails constantly, Razer's quality is still better than the official Xbox ones. ... show more

  • This Controller will Improve your KD
Color: Black
The price of this pro controller with all these features is hard to beat. 6 Mappable buttons is a game changer. Most pro controllers have 4 paddles/buttons on the back that are mappable. The Wolverine V3 has 6 buttons with the M1 and M2 buttons next to bumpers. I play 'Apex Legends' I used the M1 and M2 to heal and grenade. The 4 back buttons I mapped to AXBY. Meaning, I never have to take my thumbs off the sticks. Every other controller, I have to take my thumbs off to do something or another without having to learn how to play claw. This controller is amazing, it speeds YOU up. No more fumbling with Dpad after or in fights. Problem: After a while my left stick would desync/lose calibration. Not drift. There is a difference. I dropped my first V3 wolverine and thought I broke it. Bought a 2nd one, and the same issue started. The left stick acted like I was running forward for an extra second after I stopped. Not drifting. I won't move while at rest, but in combat, my character wanted to take extra steps. This is terrible. I looked up a youtube video how to recalibrate joysticks and apparently Razer has updated the controller so we can't manually calibrate anymore. Razer actively hurts its own product. I tried factory resetting with Razer's app 'Synapse.' (google suggested) However, 'Synapse' would not detect the controller when plugged into my PC. It won't detect its own device. Don't download Synapse, its useless. I used the regular app 'Razer Controller Setup for Xbox' and deleted the profiles on controller. I reset button maps and joysticks. Remapped everything how I had it before and I no longer have issue on BOTH controllers. Working like normal. :) Summary: Price for this pro controller is great. The V3 with extra buttons and HAL Effect joysticks is my favorite controller. This controller has ruined all other controllers for me. It makes you better as a player because you have more time with thumbs on sticks without 'claw grip' The software issues are odd and frustrating. I fixed my issues, but having searched youtube, others have not been so lucky. This controller is absolutely amazing, but buy the warranty if you're getting it. ... show more

  • This is the best controller I've used period.
Color: Black
I'm just going to make an itemized list: Everything is clicky except the bumpers which feel like bumpers, so still kinda clicky. The triggers become tactile clicky buttons with the stops in place, they're still the mushiest things on the controller, but this is as good as it gets without using a fancy a switch controller that lacks analog input entirely. All the bonus buttons are super comfortable, the extra shoulders are easier to reach than the triggers, all the back buttons are comfortable to rest on, easy to press, but not easy to accidentally press while doing bayonetta combos. The Dpad is great, it's a big shield pad, works great for fighting games diagonals are easy to hit, you can absolutely use this as a fight pad if you don't want to buy a pro style daily driver and a fight pad individually. I see what people are saying about the analog sticks being stiff, but I like them just fine, they'll probably break in. no changeable, tops, but these are fine for everything I've tried The software is mid, it does what you need but it does like a steam big picture full-screen thing, and it really wants you to control it with the pad, also you can't save multiple profiles to the pad which sucks, but that's my only complaint. They fixed the light that shines directly in your face on the V2. I haven't had it long enough to vouch for long term durability, but I bought this to replace my V2 chroma that's seen daily use for like three years, and the only noticeable damage it's suffered is the printing on the buttons wearing off. ... show more

  • Great at first, but running into the same problems Great at first, but running into the same problems
Color: Black
I’ve been a HUGE advocate for the Gamesir G7 SE. At $45 you get Hall effect sticks and two VERY slick paddles and a super nice controller shape that helps you really own the right stick as you aim. The only problem with the Gamesir is the lack of extra paddles. I’ve always been a 4 paddle guy, so being limited to 2 sucks. However when looking at this Razer controller, they advertised SIX paddles, a paddle redesign, mouse click triggers, and 1000 pull rate. Here’s my experience after a month of use: The buttons feel great, the trigger reallly is mouse click and they feel awesome, and the paddles are expertly designed. It’s by far the best 4 paddle configuration I have ever felt. The Hall effect was great too. The negatives is that the 1000 pull rate is pretty trash. From testing, the controller goes from 750 pull rate when you stop sending signals up to 950 once you start doing inputs. And once you stop it rests back to 750. It is so bad to have the controller jiggle between pull rates. It’s literally alternating the response time. I was willing to overlook this though, I was also willing to overlook how fat the controller felt in my hand, making it awkward to use the controller with kontrol freeks. What I was not willing to overlook is the fact that the damn USB port became spotty. After just 1 month of use, the controller would disconnect if I slightly touch the cable, or even just playing the game would cause it to unplug. The constant 1 second disconnects is a complete dealbreaker when you’re using a controller competitively. I had this same problem with every Elite controller I used in wired mode, and my Gamesir has never ran into this problem, even after a year of use. So either I got a bad batch, or the controller is just a sturdy USB port away from being a T3 controller in the market. TLDR; Advertised features are great and best inline, but the usb port stopped working consistently after a month of use. The controller disconnects and reconnects after any slight touch. ... show more
