Almost perfect, but still the best
I am a controller lover, I have tried and used every single pro controller out there. This might be my favorite yet (but only for strictly for pc gaming). It’s only missing 1 thing. Stick Tension control… If it had that, this would be a PERFECT controller. The good things: 1. Lowest input delay out there, the 8k polling is just marketing. 8k polling rate means absolutely nothing if the input delay is terrible, however, this controller has almost no delay, so combined with the 8k polling it makes it the fastest controller on the market, and all of this is on the wireless mode you don’t even need to have it plugged in for the benefits. 2. Clicky everything! But in a good way. I hate some of the new clicky face buttons that other controller are doing, they feel cheap, and I usually find myself wanting membrane face buttons, however, this controller has a mix of membrane and clicky on each face button, so you get the good tactile feel and speed of clicky and the smooth and memorable feel of membrane, without any of the drawbacks of either. 3. Perfect 4 paddle setup! It’s honestly mind blowing that the series 2 elite made the perfect 4 paddle setup years ago and all the controller brands keep trying different paddle setups trying to be “unique” but end up making uncomfortable and unusable monstrosities (Including the old wolverines). 4 paddles, each located perfectly on the back to be clicked simultaneously by a different finger. That’s its. The vertical paddles of a scuf are stupid, the horizontal buttons on the Vader are stupid, and the buttons on the envision are also stupid since you can only use 2 fingers and move them in between the two paddles, that’s 2 fingers for 4 buttons, STUPID. The series 2 mastered the layout, but that controller is full of issues when it comes to build quality. This controller did it PERFECTLY, without the reliability issues. 4. GOODBYE STICKDRIFT. These are the absolute smoothest Hall Effects I have ever used in my life. They feel perfect. The Vader 4 pro is my runner up before this controller, however as much as I loved that controller, the sticks always felt like there was something weird about them. They had that weird Hall effect stick feeling. These do not! They are perfect. Everyone loves to praise Sony for the DS Edge. Omg they fixed stick drift they gave us replaceable thumbsticks modules… no, they didn’t. They don’t fix anything. They gave you the same modules that are designed to break overtime and put you on a subscription plan so you keep giving them money every time you need to replace your sticks. I would’ve loved to see TMR sticks om this controller instead of Hall effect, however these Hall effects are so smooth and perfect that honestly I don’t even care. 4. Toggle between clicky triggers (actually clicky, mouse like switches, not that DS edge bs with shortened travel time) and regular triggers. Need I say more? Chefs kiss. 5. Beautiful ergonomics and grip texture. Everything feels so smooth. The grips on the elite 2 are still my favorite, however these come in second and are still fantastic. 6. Light as a feather. Ok this one is personal preference since I play only competitively, so the removal of Rumbles and RGB, opting for a lighter controller is great for me. I understand where someone might want those two things but when you’re playing for hours, there is nothing like a light controller. And for competitive gaming you should have your rumbles off anyways… so to me this is a plus, to others it may be a deal breaker. 7. The software. I don’t like controller softwares… iCue literally RUINED the envision for me. The razer software is not that bad. You launch it once, update your controller, make your layout changes, and close it. Never open it again. I don’t mind that. It does not need to be constantly running like iCue or other controller softwares. If you’re going to have a software this is how it should be. 8. It fits Kontrol Freeks perfectly! Need I say more? (I’m looking at you envision) So yes I love this controller. It’s almost perfect. Ive been using this controller so far for a week now, I must say i'm extremely happy with it. Im coming from a dualsense edge controller. While its awesome for PS5 which I enjoy using for its haptics and features made exclusively for ps5, I disliked having to use it wired on my PC and at times my hands would cramp due to its size and weight. I wanted something specifically made for competitive pc gaming and this thing is fast, extremely fast. Everything about this controller is extremely responsive, the buttons are very satisfying to use. The grip is real grippy which helps with my occasional sweaty hands. I did own the original wolverine v3 which (xbox model) which I ended up selling because I found the sticks had really high tension and I felt I wasn't accurate at all with it, which left me disappointed. That model had hall effect sticks , these have TMR sticks. The joysticks on these have the perfect tension and I have been extremely accurate while playing games like BF6. This controller feels miles better than the original V3. Ontop of that its very light and is a perfect size for my hands which i've always felt the dualsense to be a little bulky. This controller feels extremely premium and I absolutely don't regret paying a little more for extra grip and wireless. I use this controller for hours and the battery is still at about 90% running at 8k polling. If wireless and extra grip doesn't matter to you, then try the tournament edition. Either way , you cant go wrong with this controller. I recommend calibrating the sticks before you start using it. This might be the fastest and smoothest controller ive ever used. Let me start by saying this: I’ve owned every single Razer Wolverine controller that’s been released, and the Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC is hands-down the biggest leap yet. Note: This controller is PC-only. Sorry Xbox folks—this one isn’t for you. I upgraded directly from the V3 Pro, and… wow. The improvements are instantly noticeable. Synapse Integration & Customization: Razer Synapse runs flawlessly with this controller and offers way more customization and functionality than the V3 Pro. One underrated feature? Being able to remap the share button. I have mine set as a hotkey for game clipping through Medal, which is clutch because I no longer need to deal with the clunky Xbox Game Bar as the default clipping software. 8,000Hz Polling Rate (Wired & Wireless): If you thought the 1,000Hz polling rate on the V3 Pro was good, the 8,000Hz polling rate on this thing is absolute insanity. It’s ridiculously responsive whether wired or wireless, and you feel the difference in competitive FPS games like Call of Duty or Battlefield etc. Battery Life: Battery life is what you’d expect at this level of performance. Running at 8K polling drains it faster, but I still get around 5–8 hours of heavy playtime in COD, Rivals, and other high-input games before needing to recharge. Build & Hardware Improvements: No Rumble Packs → This controller ditches vibration motors, which makes it significantly lighter than the V3 Pro. TMR Joysticks → Upgraded from Hall Effect to TMR sticks. These feel buttery smooth and insanely precise, especially in shooters. Improved USB-C Port → The charging port now has a defined slot, fixing the loose-connection issues that plagued the V3 Pro. My Final Thoughts: This controller isn’t for casual players. If you’re a competitive gamer or someone who sweats in fast-paced titles, this is where you’ll see the benefits. It won’t magically make you better, but it will elevate your fundamentals with next-level responsiveness. Get the warranty through Razer or Amazon. Not because the controller feels cheap (it doesn’t), but because if you play as hard as I do, you’ll want the peace of mind. Bottom line: The Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC is a beast. Seems flimsy but performs amazingly.
So, I game on my PC and moved to this from my Xbox Elite Controller. I realize this is a much higher end controller than I need for casual, but regular gaming (so I'm not competitive, but I do play a lot of stuff) and has a higher price tag than a casual gamer should pay, but I just don't like buying Chinese brands I've never heard of (like pretty much anything you see where the "brand" name is in all caps and isn't even a real word -- sorry, that's just me.) Also, I'm an older gamer, so some of this may only be relevant if you are not in the pre-teen / teen category looking for a good controller. So, right away, a couple of red flags. The flawless packaging, the rubber protective covers on the super high end, braided USB cable, the high quality "case" it comes with -- all told me I overpaid. When it comes to packaging, Razer wants to be the Apple of the PC accessory market. But, I knew that going in, and although I'll never pack this thing up in its protective case to take it to a friend's house, I guess it's a good sign that they pay attention to detail. The next thing I noticed was this thing is small, and it is light. They brag a lot about the latter and I don't think they should. I would prefer a little more heft to my controller so I know I'm actually controlling something. Size wise -- it's actually about the same total dimensions as the Xbox Elite I moved from, but it feels WAY smaller -- I think this is due to the stubby hand holds. Again, I've got bigger hands than a 12 year old, but probably smaller hands than many people, so I'm not sure why they shortened the grips for everyone. Having said that -- I found the 4 buttons on the underside of the controller to be well positioned for access by middle and ring fingers so they may actually be usable in contrast to the wonky removeable levers that came with the Xbox Elite (which I soon lost because they were unreliable and fell out easily). But how does it play? That's the real question and I'm surprised to say that I really like it. Feeling small takes getting used to. Being so light takes some getting used to. But if you can get past those issues, these controls are a dream. The first thing I noticed was navigating pretty much any menu with the left stick -- the Xbox Elite would always have a bounce back effect -- so you push it right to go one step over and then let go and it would bounce back to go two steps to the left. Whatever the tech is in the Wolverine -- it stops that completely. Same with triggers, buttons and DPAD -- for something that is this light (I'm really trying hard to stay away from the words cheap feeling -- it's just insanely light and plasticky) the controls are all rock solid. And, although I haven't dived in to this level of customization just yet, the software does offer an impressive level of control on things like the triggers -- do they need to be all in as soon as you barely depress one, or do you need to assign a graduated level of pull depending on how far you pull that trigger? You can set it up in a profile per game depending on what you want. All in all, I'm giving a strong 4 out of 5. They'd have gotten a 5 / 5 if it felt more substantial to hold. ... show more

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING controller!!
Before this I have only used a traditional xbox controller, and about 10 years ago I bought an xbox elite controller and have been using it ever since. Recently I got my custom gaming rig setup and started playing call of duty and halo on the pc, and given the age on my elite controller, I realized I needed a new controller pronto. Things I were looking for: 1) wanted hair trigger locks 2) remappable paddles on the back 3) tmr or hall effect analog sticks 4) extra tall right thumbstick Those were my non-neogitable things I wanted, so I did a lot of research and came up with only a few options. I ordered a scuf controller, but I really didn't like the paddles, and decided I loved the xbox elite controller paddles, but the elite controller doesnt have hall effect or tmr thumbsticks and with the issue of stick drift, and the fact that hall effect or tmr thumbsticks is insanely more precise, the elite controller was out, which only left me with a couple options. Throw in the fact that the Razer wolverine v3 pro has an 8k polling rate version AND was wireless with a really long lasting battery, I decided to give this controller a try, despite its extremely high price and all I can tell you is I am extremely happy that I did. This is BY FAR the best controller I have ever tried and I won't be turning back. I can't imagine me using another controller in the future, EVER. Infact, my original one ended up getting accidentally thrown away, and without a second thought I immediately ordered a 2nd one, it was worth EVERY penny of the $200 it costs. You won't find a better controller than this, it just doesn't exist. The only reason I could see someone choosing a different controller, OTHER than they don't have the money for this one, is if you prefer the paddles like the scuf one, where they are perpendicular to the paddles on this one and the elite controller. But I personally will never be buying another branded controller than Razer. I loved this controller so much I very quickly went out and bought a razer Basilisk v3 pro wireless mouse ... show more

Very Disappointed, Thumbstick issues on Two Different Controllers.
Really wanted to like this one, but I had bought two of these and both have thumbstick issues. The first one only had an issue with the left stick having some loose sloppy upward movement, bad enough that the stick registers movement by lightly shaking the controller. The second one, bought as a replacement to this one, has loose sloppy movement on BOTH stick in ALL directions. This is only apparent in the very first millimeters of movement from center, but it is very noticeable in competitive shooters. I am very upset. My old V3 Pro does not exhibit this issue meaning there is some sort of quality control issue with these new TMR thumbsticks. Make sure you feel out the sticks for a bit before keeping it. I loved how light the controller is, the buttons all around seem upgraded, but the fact that the sticks are so sloppy is a no go for me. ... show more

Mixed feelings. I will start this review just pointing out that I am really hard on controllers unintentionally. lol I'm assuming from weight lifting and genetics I have a really strong grip. Obviously, when playing a video game, you're not deathgripping your controller. However, I have this little problem with games like Madden, where I must subconsciously think when pressing RB to hold the ball, that pressing harder holds the ball harder. :) That, along with hit stick inputs, seems to just be hell on certain controllers. The SCUF, and Elite 2, have held up the longest of any controller I've had yet. I broke RB button on at LEAST 10 xbox controllers going back to 360, giving a ton of them stick drift over a year or less use. Worst part is, I primarily play FPS so this isnt' even like long hour sessions here. Hall effect sticks are great because I know now hitstick isn't going to give stick drift!!!!!!!!! So my experience with this controller has been very shaky so far but I will update accordingly. Preface: I've had this controller less than a month. I unboxed and absolutely loved the feel. First impressions were great. I'm a 40 year old gamer that's had just about every console since Atari. I've experienced consoles with amazing stock controllers (OG XBOX) and others where 3rd party controllers were a needed improvement. Now in 2025, stock controllers are decent but 3rd party is definitely the clear competitive upgrade. On XBOX/PC I've had 5+ of each the Elite, and Elite series 2. (Bought and fixed a ton of them) I bought the SCUF Instinct Pro to try to learn controller for aim assist games with low deadzones (I'm KBM), and a Linus reviewed EasySMX X20 that blew my socks off. First, Thumbsticks are the best I've ever felt. If they had more stick resistance, they would be PERFECT. The buttons have the perfect amount of press to click I could ever want. Maybe slightly too much resistance but I think it works w/ the amount of travel as compared to the mouse button click style on the SMX I feel its "too easy" to click. Battery life is great, response feels blazing, 8k is too much for a controller. You're just dropping your FPS for marketing, 1000 is MORE than enough, do 2000 if you wanna feel that kinda way. 4000 if you've got a top of the line PC and like to brag. I opened the controller kinda disappointed by the fact that it was missing Thumbsticks. there was clearly a spot missing for one so I knew I was shorted. I got a replacement and while they were "all there" it was definitely less than expected compared to the Elite series 2. They should have a ton of options. Biggest con so far though is the thumbsticks that I love so much. One just broke on me the same way the 40 dollar EasySMX did. The joystick can be slightly lifted up from the socket. Because its magnetic it still works and shows ZERO deadzone when its pushed down but it pops up sometimes. Admittedly, before I noticed this, I just put the "hard" precision ring on the controller and played a few games. I don't know if that exacerbated the issue, but everything I read online says precision rings are safe. I do know for me at least, they help greatly for FPS aiming. Being Keyboard and mouse, the last shooter game I played on controller was Goldeneye for N64. I'm pretty bad on controller but since aim assist is insanely overpowered, I look like I know what I'm doing :P ... show more

Fantastic controller, great performance
5/5 performance and features 4/5 build quality and premium feel As a lifelong gamer that is now getting into my 30s, having a comfortable controller that also performs well means a lot to me, and I’m willing to pay for it. For my hands this controller allows me to play without much fatigue and without flaring up any tendinitis as long as I am mindful about the length of my gaming sessions. This is an absolute 5/5 stars in terms of customizability and performance. When combined with reWASD I don’t think you can get a much better controller. There’s just something slightly lacking in that premium “feel”, the plastic feels a little thin, they just quite didn’t hit the mark for a $200 price tag. For example, I have the Victrix Pro BFG which comes at a similar price tag. Overall I like the feel of this controller in my hands more (which I realize is subjective) but just objectively the Victrix “feels” more premium. But where it matters, this controller truly shines. ... show more
