  • Great 2.0 speakers, they even have bass
Style: Nommo
The first thing I listened to after hooking up these new speakers amazed me. I went from a $30 or $40 2.1 setup from Logitech which was ok, but never impressed me much, it was just a first step up from the ones built into my monitor. I figured going from those to the Nommo here I would gain some sound quality but lose the bass from the subwoofer in the Logitech set, but that wasn't the case at all. Amazingly, whether this was a failure on Logitech's part or some fancy engineering on Razer's, the Nommos without the sub actually have more bass! I only have the bass dial at about 50% and it's plenty for me. People that really like to feel the thump in their chest will probably still need a subwoofer, but for everyone else, these are amazing. Pros: The volume range goes from a whisper to cringing loud all through the built in volume knob, and having an off position is nice. As I pointed out already, the bass control knob is also really nice, and noon or about 50% sounded best to me. The option to have aux in beyond the normal input is a nice option, though I will probably never use it. Headphone passthrough is also handy so that you probably won't have to change any volume settings on your pc. I really like the rather understated aesthetic, just simple shapes and all black. Cons: Like some others have said, they are quite big. This no doubt allows for the impressive bass performance, but it also makes my desk feel a bit cramped. It would be nice for the cord connecting the two speakers to be detachable during setup so I could deal with one at a time. This is pretty minor, but having all the ports on the back makes it challenging to plug or unplug headphones. ... show more

  • Amazing sound for a 2.0 set
Style: Nommo
This set is amazing. I was one that had to completely re-adjust my sound settings in my Realtek Audio manager because I had it set up for the crappy monitor speakers on my 40". Out of the box these were easy to set up and get working too. They were a tad bigger than I thought but that is not a negative for me. Do not get discouraged if these don't sound like you want out of the box. I had to work with my sound settings, EQ, ect. to get it the way I wanted. Sound is very subjective and if you haven't messed with your sound settings, these might be good to go out of the box. Mine wasn't. After set up and placement I started trying things to see the difference. I was blown away with the range these have being only a 2.0 set up. Playing Elder Scrolls Online, I could actually hear something coming up BEHIND me! The speakers are set to either side of my monitor in front of me so needless to say, I was impressed. I am not an audiophile by any means, but being an avid gamer and movie/youtube watcher, these made it SO much easier to hear things and notice things I was missing before. The bass output exceeded my expectations, especially since there is no sub-woofer. These aren't going to knock stuff off the walls but they definitely could get you in trouble with your neighbors if you live in an apartment. This is a review of my normal model of the Nommo I purchased. The Chroma Nommo is said to be the same hardware, just with RGB and synapse support, so you can expect this review to work with those as well. ... show more

  • Decent gaming speakers
Style: Nommo
Decent speakers, definitely get the job done. Found the surround sound to be very clean and immersive. The bass with the knob turned all the way is just acceptable by my standards but I’m a bass head. Most would find it just fine I’m sure. They get more than loud enough, I’ve honestly enjoyed having them. ... show more

  • Good speakers for the price
Style: Nommo
For the price, speakers are pretty good and I am overall satisfied with them. Form factor, looks sleek and modern. The material is plastic, but they have a decent weight to them and doesn't feel cheap. I wish they were a bit more compact though. Sound quality is pretty good for speakers in the $100 range. They can get pretty loud, not like I need them too since they are basically in front of me. The bass is ok, some songs sound a little muddy when the bass is all the way up, and if you turn it down I feel like I lose a bit in the mids. This is out of the box without messing with the EQ though. ... show more

  • AMAZING Quality for the Price! AMAZING Quality for the Price!
Style: Nommo
Okay, so I'm a huge Razer junkie so maybe I'm biased, but these truly sound amazing. First of all, they're huge! So much larger than I was expecting them to be for $100 speakers. I currently don't even have enough room on my desk for both of them. They have super-rich, full sound, and are truly plug-and-play. I had zero issues with setup and I honestly thought it would be more difficult than it was! These babies can get LOUD and I haven't tried cranking them, but I only have them up about halfway with my computer volume up halfway and they're even almost too loud at that level. I'm so glad I got these instead of the $300 speaker and sub set I was looking at. 100% worth it. My only gripe is that they are not height adjustable on the stand, so they unfortunately are rather tall and don't get any shorter, but I love them so much that I don't even mind! ... show more

  • Solid desktop speakers
Style: Nommo
They are sort of larger than what I expected but my desk fits them fine. Speakers sound very very good for the price and honestly makes gaming without headphones a blast. Have not had any issues with them since I got them 2 weeks ago. Volume can get pretty loud but there really is no need to go max volume since at those levels sound can get somewhat distorted. I find 50-75% volume more than enough and enjoyable. For 100$ I would definitely buy again. ... show more

  • Sensitive Volume Control - Good Bass for No Subwoofer
Style: Nommo
Got these to replace a very aging system that had a separate subwoofer. Been playing both video games, watching movies and general music over it (epic music, soundtracks and symphonic metal to test out the quality for music). It's really nice when gaming - the ambient light sounds for video games are brought out in a nice way that doesn't overpower or go heavy (played "Total War: Three Kingdoms" and "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" for testing purposes). Music wise - it obviously doesn't have the oomph of a subwoofer, but the bass control is nice as you can adjust it to the point where your desk is rumbling, but also lower it so that it's a nice contrasting mix. The volume control is super sensitive which is a good thing when you want just that right quality of noise without accidentally waking up any neighbors in your apartment complex or the room next door. ... show more

  • Perfection for the price
Style: Nommo
Honestly love these things. Got them on sale for $80, and I have zero regrets. Pros: loud, crisp, clear, almost zero distortion/clipping (only get this on max volume, and even then, it's rare that it happens), excellent for music, movies, and even gaming (although a headset is probably still better for online gaming) Cons: cables feel a bit cheap (I am always worried that they'll break, but they have degraded yet, and I bought them 3 months ago), you can't tilt them (this really isn't a big deal at all, as the sound is perfect no matter where I stand in my room) Other thoughts: As weird as it may sound, no matter where I'm at, or how far I am, it always sounds like there's a third speaker. Not really sure how to explain it, but yeah, that's a thing. 11/10 would buy again ... show more
