The heater lasted two months before the drain plug failed and caused a significant amount of water to flood the pump room. Tech came and replaced the cheap part. Two months later the unit completely failed. Raypak told me to hire a company to inspect the unit. The tech said the unit needed replaced. Raypak then hired another tech from a different company, and they advised the unit failed due to the drain plug failing. It caused the fire brick to fail and had a flame rollout. Raypak emailed and said they would decide if they needed to repair or replace the unit. I would call and they would say they will let me know "tomorrow". Well.....months have gone by and Raypak will not return calls or emails. I will file in small claims court. My last Raypak lasted 16 years. This one only a few months.

Had a blackout here for 3 days and temps in the teens to 20's. I drained my pump and filter but forgot to open the cock on my heater. Cracked the header. SO, I ordered this item as a direct replacement for the 15 year old same model I had. Was basically a plug-n-play. Had to call plumber to remove gas line, but I did the rest (electrical/plumbing). In fact, there was NO plumbing to do. New unit connected back up exactly as the old unit came out. No need to cut pipes or replace anything. The electrical was as simple as pull wires loose on old and reconnect on new in same fashion. Thanks RayPak.....job well done

the heater arrived. i inspected the unit and there was no visible damage to the outside. My pool company came and connected the unit, as soon as the unit was turned on, water was pouring out from all areas. The pool person removed the side where the defected piece was. Amazon contacted, now to contact seller. It is a big and heavy item. Return by UPS ???

The heater is almost twice as wide as the picture shows. I had added expenses moving the gas line and electrical to fit it in the pool house. Would never have bought one this big if the picture I’ve been correct. The picture it looks exactly like the one we took out.

After three years, it started to leak and for the size of the hole, I would have to use gallons of liquid chlorine to create it, which I didn’t. My last heater lasted 11 years before the corrosion set in and I chlorinated the same amount and way. I would have to say that this product was made much inferior to my last heater which I will be looking to buy again being that I have to replace this one now!

I bought the, then current, model RP2100 in November of 1999. It has run like a champ ever since. We've never had to do any repairs (in California). I'm only here now on Amazon looking again because the bottom has rusted out and I'm afraid it's not long for this world. 15 years of exterior service is pretty good. I couldn't recommend the 1999 model of this product enough. Not sure how the updated version measures up.

I purchased it in the spring of 2020, and it worked well until 2022. Then the heating radiator broke almost at the end of the season. The irony is that the company doesn't warranty the radiator for more than two years. Save your money and buy something else.
