I've had several shelving units made with these teardrop thin metal bars in the past. This one is pretty sturdy for the design. Easy to assemble and comes in a small package, relatively. The "mallet" is trash and not very helpful. Light and cheap. Everything else is great. I suggest using a hammer and the glove to knock these in. Use the gloves as a protective barrier to the shelf. ... show more

Accurate measurements. One of the few options that I was able to find that will fill in the odd space in my office. Sturdy enough to hold heavy items as there are two support bars underneath each shelf, which I really like. Not as easy to put together as I imagined. The bars really need to be hammered in to lock into place. On the other hand, I don’t need to worry about it coming apart. The plastic/rubber feet/covers are not great. You’ll need to be really careful when hammering in the bars, or it will break off pieces of the feet/cover. In hindsight, I should put these in last, after everything is assembled. ... show more

This shelf is perfect. It’s made of lightweight metal. Initially it seemed flimsy but once it was put together it’s extremely sturdy. The shelf was easy to put together and the directions were very clear. The shelves are adjustable to your needs. It took me approximately 40 mins including reading directions. This looks great in my apartment. I have a lot of dvds and books that are too heavy for most wood shelves and I didn't want a shelf that looked like office furniture or something meant for a garage. It helps a lot that it's white and doesn't stand out much other than what I put on it. Takes a some effort to put together but it's not too bad and I'm disabled. I would like it to have a more secure connection between the top and bottom halves but I don't think there's an easy way to engineer something like that given the efficiency of this design and once there is enough weight on the top half it's not really an issue. I figured out that I can use 1/4" Diameter copper tubing cut to 16-3/8" length so it will lock into the keyholes on the sides instead of using some silly bookends. I went with copper because I like the color and it's easier to cut with a pipe cutter but carbon fiber, wood, aluminum, and maybe some plastics could be used as well. Seems like that would be a good add-on purchase this company should make available. ... show more

One of the shelves came damaged. The frame was difficult to keep together, despite "hammering" it with the plastic mallet it came with. The pieces kept coming unlocked. One of the frame pieces bent when moving it. I was really excited about this after reading lots of.great reviews, but was very disappointed in the quality and stability of this product. There is no way it can hold the amount of weight it advertises as it is wobbly with just a full laundry basket on it. ... show more
