I have been wanting to buy this for a while now but due to the gap between the tank and the lid we didn't think it was going to work. I didn't trust the other ones I saw so we tried to remember to keep the bathroom door shut. Unfortunately I have a 16 year old son and he is in his own world half the time. The last straw was him not sitting the door and my 20 month old decided to throw my brand new iPad pro 2021 I. The toliet. It cost me over 1k for the iPad and after a few inches of water and a few secs iPad was destroyed. I thought it was at least somewhat water proof but not even a little but. Thankfully I have apple care + and insurance so I am able to get a new one for 55 bucks. However, we were tired of always worrying our daughter was playing in the toliet so I bought this and figured we could give it a shot. Even though there is that big gap and the lock just fits on the back of the lid it works perfectly. The lid will open about an inch or so but not enough to where she can throw anything in it. She has already given on on trying to get in the toliet and it's only been a couple days. If you are concerned about having a large gap between the lid and the tank, if it's anything like ours it will work.

Works great. Make sure to get the placement right the first time. Also, do yourself a favor and leave it unlocked at night and just shut the bathroom door if possible. First week we had it we kept forgetting it was there and that made 2am potty needs for the adults frustrating haha
