I purchased this to use in a home photo studio. I store backdrops and props on the shelves. Over the years I've purchased all kinds of inexpensive shelving for closets, the garage and now my studio. I wanted some thing a little nicer looking than the plastic shelving I've used in the garage and also something that would go more with the vibe of the studio. This shelf is PERFECT. Putting it together was a boring piece of cake. Tiny little annoyances if you are doing it by yourself (keeping things balanced while you put on the top shelves and the wheels) but honestly tiny tiny annoyances. If you've got four hands putting this together it's a snap. It goes together quickly and efficiently. As for sturdy.... heck yes.... this thing is plenty sturdy. I chose to have the wheels on it (you have the option to keep it stationary) and even fully loaded down with every shelf filled, the wheels glide around silently and smoothly. Keep in mind that while my shelves are filled to the brim, they are filled mostly with fabric and tennis balls (I photograph a lot of dogs) and similar props, so I am not weighing it down with heavy tools and the like. So, I can't speak to how sturdy it would be fully loaded up with drills and hammers and lead pipes (you know, for that life sided game of clue you would play with the lead pipe), but from the looks of it I would say it could comfortably hold quite a bit more weight than I ask it to hold. And finally, the looks.... I think it looks great.... Clean and industrial. There is no sag in the shelves. I've even put "S" hooks on the top shelf to have things hanging off. It still looks great. BOTTOM LINE: Bang for your buck this is a GREAT shelving option if you are looking for something more industrial. Looks, sturdiness, ease of assembly.... Its got it all

This is sturdy and easy to put together. Just pay attention to the up arrow on the plastic stops, make sure that they are on the same indentation on each of the 4 legs, make sure they slide into the indentation. It's easier to do than to write out. I'm using on wheels which reduces the total weight allowed but it's still fine for me. I've got boxes of books, stored clothes (in boxes--actually heavier than the books), large photo albums and boxes of extra photos on the shelves so there is quite a bit of weight. Heaviest stuff on the bottom for safety folks. I wanted wheels to be able to shift the shelves a bit so all of each shelf is accessible. They work great that way for the storage room I put them in. The wheels are good size and feel very sturdy. I started with one shelf to see if it would work, bought 2 more for that project and now 2 more for another organizing project in the basement. The price has risen over $10 in the last 2 months, apparently I bought the original sets just before the price went up. The last 2 were at a higher price. That said, I will still buy it again as it is a good price even at this higher price as I suspect I need more for the basement project. Edit. I've continued to order more as I finished the storage room and then the basement. How impressed was my husband? Did I think they would work in the garage in place of the bricks and salvaged wood shelves he had? YES indeed. Looks so much better, can see what is on the shelf, can be moved without unloading and takes up less space. I've also bought a case of stacking plastic storage boxes (15 qt and 6 qt) so I can put like things together. See inside and I'm labeling the outside. All in hopes that the garage will be able to stay organized. Next up? I don't know. But I do know I'm pretty happy with how we can easily find things.

This is a great shelf. It was very easy to put together. It even came with a little tool to adjust the casters so you didn't need any extra tools to construct it. The shelves on this unit are of adjustable height. They are very strong and hold lots of items. You can get covers for the shelves so that smaller items will not fall through the open grid on these shelves but I did not get them and haven't found them necessary so far. I bought two of these shelving units. I am using one of them as an open kitchen pantry and have food and some other items stored on it like my food dehydrator and an electric grill. It's a great shelving unit for storing heavy cases of bottled drinking water. I keep smaller items like cans and glass jars in plastic bins that I placed on the wire shelves so I have no problem with anything slipping through the open wire grid of the shelves. I have my kitchen pantry shelving unit standing next to my refrigerator and it's about 3" shorter than the refrigerator so it fits very nicely into my kitchen. I have the other shelving unit in my bathroom entryway and use it for linens and other bathroom items. I covered that unit with a decorative length of fabric so it fits in with my decor. This shelving unit comes with both casters and stationary feet that are adjustable so you can level the shelf unit and you have the option of using it as either a stationary or a rolling shelving unit. I used the casters and they roll very easily and smoothly and seem well-built and sturdy. I find that the casters are more than adequate to easily roll the unit even when it's fully loaded with all my kitchen pantry and linen closet/bathroom items. I like that you can order hooks separately and use them to hang things off the sides of this shelf. It's very a strong and versatile shelving unit and solved a lot of my storage problems. I plan on ordering another one or two of these units for my sewing/craft room. I'm very happy with this product and would highly recommend it.
