Be sure not to use the plastic thing to tie the skis together or the rope with 2 handles. Just allow the child time to learn to swim with the skis on their feet. These skis seem to be well built and should last several years provided they are kept in a dry state. Leaving any skis in the bottom of a boat with water will result in skis that will come apart and not be able to use. Keep them dry when not in use.

This are were great for teaching my just turned 6yo how to ski. Not only are the skis great but the rope provided takes the pull off their hands. I was worried about her not letting go of the rope but an adult in the boat holds the other end and alleviates that fear.

These worked great teaching our 5 yo grand daughter to ski. The biggest problem we had was finding the right length setting for the handles. Three pages of safety warnings but no useful instructions. We ended up holding the tow rope out in front and set the skiers handle even with the front of the foot bindings. Where the toes would be if the skiers foot where in the skis. We had someone in the water holding her stable and keep the speed about 15-20 mph.

We bought these for our 7 year old so he could learn to ski. Once we attached the trainer bar, he was able to pop right and and ski with confidence! Over the summer we’ve had several other kids that have learned to ski after a few attempts using these.
