Look no further! This is the perfect umbrella. Despite folding to a compact size, it's plenty big for one person and will fit two in a pinch. It's strong and sturdy. The one-button open-and-close mechanism is fantastic. Once you get the hang of it, you can operate this umbrella with just one hand. It's got a snap-button retaining strap—no more icky velcro to catch on your clothes. The curved wooden handle has a nice large radius so it can hang securely on most anything, including in the crook of your elbow if you need both hands free. This is a great umbrella. I was afraid I got a defective one because when I first opened it, it was a bit inverted and two of the ribs were stuck together. I wrestled gently with it because I didn't want to break it. I gave up and collapsed it again. The next time I opened it, it was completely normal and has been ever since. So far, I haven't had the opportunity to actually put it to use because it hasn't rained sufficiently hard enough to warrant it. There have been complaints about the difficulty of closing it back up. I don't get it. The button initially opens it in one go. Another push of the button and the canopy "unlocks" for lack of a better term. From there, you need to ensure the canopy is entirely collapsed and then manually compress the spring until it clicks in the closed and locked position. It's not that hard - no more so than my old umbrella of a similar design from the late 1980s. ... show more

I haven't used this umbrella yet, but it looks good and sturdy. It opens very well with the press of a button. That's pretty standard, but this is the first one I have had that folds back up at the press of the button. You still have to push it down to compress the length, but that's pretty cool.
