Features

  • No machine redesign. Revo Six is a top choice if you want to update your old E3D V6 setup to the latest generation of E3D HotEnd technology. It has the same height, the same diameter, and the same groove mount as the E3D V6, so it drops straight into V6-fitted machines without the hassle of redesigning print head mounts and accessories. Just fit it, connect the Revo HeaterCore, and youre ready to 3D print.
  • Ready for Revo. Revo Six is designed to work with Revo Nozzles, so you can perform nozzle swaps with your fingers at room temperature without complex tools or hot tightening. Each Revo Nozzle is factory sealed, making it much simpler to use and more reliable than most HotEnd technology available today.
  • Enhanced performance. Revo Six uses a Revo HeaterCore, our latest HotEnd heating and sensing architecture. It reaches temperature much faster than a traditional aluminium HeaterBlock, and its much safer: a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) means the HeaterCore cant melt at extreme temperatures, reducing hazards in the event of a thermal runaway.
  • A new look. An anodised black heat sink distinguishes Revo Six from its predecessor, and every unit ships with a premium crystal-clear fan duct so your machine will stand out from the crowd.
  • Compatible with: Prusa i3 MK2/ MK3 variants (make sure you select the correct voltage for your setup)

  • Increase your hot end temp, and if you have a Prusa go down to firmware version 3.11.0
It was hard for me to decide between four or five stars, but it is not hard for me to recommend this. So far it has been amazing, once I figured out something. I installed this in my old reliable Prusa MK3s+ that has been great for four years, until I installed this Revo. I finished installing it, turned the printer on, and started the PID tune. It would heat up to about 85C then change to 0 and start to cool down. I then attempted to heat the nozzle up to 215C and right way got a thermal warning and the heating stopped. This did not seem like any hardware defect, but seemed software related since it was heating up, but the Prusa was turning it off. I went to the forms on Prusa’s website and found a post where someone experienced a similar issue, then he solved it by installing an older version of the Prusa firmware. I started going deeper into Prusa’s firmware documentation and found where they recommend using firmware version 3.11.0, and not the latest firmware version, with the Revo. (My fault, I should have read everything. But when you do this so many times, it’s easy to skip through stuff.) I installed the older firmware and it worked. Then I noticed while printing, that awful clicking sound from the extruder that all of us dread. I also saw that the print was lifting off the bed at one corner. This lead me to believe that the hot end temperature was too low. So I reprinted with the hot end temperature 10C higher. And it printed perfectly. Those were the only issues I had. But the advantage is great. In the past I normally avoided changing nozzles unless I really need to. Sometimes I’ll just print something with the installed nozzle even though I wanted to use a different size. Now I can easily change the nozzles, and I have several times. No concerns about damaging any wires, destroying the threads on the aluminum block, or drop a hot nozzle on my hands. This is really nice. So I guess I had to go with five stars on my rating. Sure, it’s a new design and firmware needs to catch up to it. And being a new design, years of profiles on the older style v6 obviously do not apply. So as long as you are aware that you may need to increase your hot end temperature by 5 to 10C, you will have no issues. And if you install this on a Prusa, you need to downgrade your firmware until Prusa releases a version that works with this new design. ... show more

  • Good but be warned...
I've had mine for about a week and there were definitely issues and still dealing with some. 1) First order shipped without the other nozzles. No biggie, Amazon swapped and all is well. 2) Installed on Prusa Mk3s+ and immediately discovered the "thermal anomaly" issue from the printer running the latest firmware. I also rolled back several different versions, doing the recommended factory reset (PITA) at each install. The hotend continued to throw thermal anomalies. 3) Now I probably know why, the connectors on the hot end thermistor are EXTREMELY brittle. I found the first completely disconnected at the terminal junction and now after looking at it to see if I could repair the other one broke as well. At first I thought it was a poor crimp but having the second break off while I am literally holding it in my hand to look at it doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. Now, thermistor cables aren't meant to be handled heavily, I get that, but this is WAY too extreme. The print head moves so naturally there is going to be movement in this cable. I am SURE that's why the printer was throwing anomalies and ultimately wasn't happy. I will be going back to the traditional E3 V6 hotend for the time being. The time wasted troubleshooting this does not make up for the "quick" nozzle change. ... show more

  • Fails after a few hundred hours of print time
We've purchased nearly 20 of these and while the nozzles don't leak and can be changed the failure rate is almost 100%. They tend to work well for the first few hundred hours then all of a sudden they can't maintain temperature leading to M112 errors. In addition we've also seen multiple thermristor issues causing thermal runaway and even factory replaced units that die again. Supposedly the new blue cable units, an new installation method that has you print your own braces for the cable connectors and the prusa-specific cables are better but we've seen no evidence any of this helps. Search around before buying as our experience seems to be consistent with other reports you can find with a quick search. ... show more
