This is an excellent under cabinet range hood. I hav been using it now for about 9 months. It is very quiet even though the fans are very strong. I can finally broil fish in the oven and NOT have the house stinking of fish for days. It vents the exhaust coming out from my oven very effectively. I also have a tendency to set off my very sensitive smoke alarms in the dining room when searing meats on the stove. This is no longer a problem when using the Vikio range hood. You can watch as the fans suck the smoke sight up and out through the hood. The scerrns are also a BREEZE to clean. Just pop them out and run them through the dishwasher. Installation was a bit tricky mainly because my existing vent didnt line up perfectly. I would STRONGLY recommend purchasing the MANQO cabinet jacks to assist with installation. You can read my review of the jacks on Amazon. There were two of us for the install and I don't know if we could have done it without the jacks. The LED lights are very bright and light up the cooking surface very well. This is a HUGE upgrade from the the cheap "standard "box store" vent hood i replaced. Well worth the investment and i would strongly recommend upgrading to this unit.

I wanted to replace the microwave installed above my kitchen range with an actual vent that works. After many hours of exploration I settled on this Vikio model because of its design and functionality. It has 3 fan speeds and a light that you can replace yourself if you want a different LED level of output, unlike some other makes that require you to contact the manufacturer and replace an entire control board with a built in lamp. Some people have said that the fan is noisy, but on its lowest set I didn't find that to be the case. The mid to high fan settings are noisier, but you will generally not have it on that level but to quickly clear out heavy steam or smoke for a short period. So, I don't find that to be an issue. And, this fan really does the job! I live in a hot climate so my AC is on a lot and I can't always have windows open to clear the air after cooking. The microwave fan did nothing to help and my whole house would reek from whatever I had been cooking. Not the case with the power of this fan. The light works well and you can shut it off. The "wave" technology on this model is updated to only be sensitive to within a couple inches from the controls, so you won't accidentally turn the thing on or off by walking in front of it as some models that have had that complaint. Things to note are that you will need two people to install this...it is not a one-man job. And depending on what your layout is if installing under your cabinet, you may need some wood blocking such as 1x4 pieces that will be drilled into for the screws or bolts needed to secure the vent. The videos online on Amazon are a great help to understanding how to do the installation. The other thing I liked about this company is the template they provide to illustrate where the necessary holes will be drilled. I went with bolts on the installation because I think they are more secure than screws with plastic toggles...but that was also more challenging because of the tight space on the two back slots..... but we got the job done. All in all, I am quite pleased with the powerful fan performance and the well thought out controls.

This thing not only looks good, but is very powerful. for the amount of suction power, it is fairly quiet and actually quieter than the outgoing Broan S2000 that I had. The motion sensor works well and we have not had any false triggers when walking past the unit. The LED lights are bright too. The unit comes with the power cord attached to the motor and poppint out the top. If you need to move it to the back hole, you have to squeeze and pull out the lock then you have two choices. 1 take out the motor to disconnect the wire and feed it back in (requires a lot more work and removing the zip ties). 2 cut the plug off and feed it out the back. I cut the plug and hard wired it out the back to an electrical box. You will notice that it is fairly heavy and two or three people would be ideal for installing it. The screws are a little tricky to get since the motor is in the way so I ended up lining it up, installing anchors and then while two people held it up, i screwed it in place.

I compared a few under cabinet, mid-range brands (30" less than $500), and even styles (stainless, black SS, black glass), I settled on this Vikio black SS version. Clean workmanship (rounded corners), matte black SS doesn't show small dings (vs easily seen in SS), washable baffle filters, and strong vent fan. Would have been nice to have a fourth (lower) setting, but I suppose suction would have been minimal. Works really well. Noise level is acceptable. Nice features and good value for the money.

The media could not be loaded. I did a lot of research on range hoods before choosing this VIKIO Home model, which is hailed as the latest generation. Right out of the box, the stainless steel construction is high quality and durable, and the look is sleek and sturdy. The control system is also very intuitive. Unlike my previous range hood, where I had to repeatedly press '+' and '-' to set the suction speed, and each time I set the wind speed, I needed to press the range hood multiple times to achieve my ideal suction level, this range hood displays the three speed options directly on the touch screen. With a simple tap, you can quickly and easily adjust while cooking. The gesture control is more accurate, probably because the upgraded chip responds more quickly, and the 980 CFM suction quickly clears kitchen smoke, keeping the air fresh and protecting my family from harmful fumes. It is also noticeably quieter than my old range hood. My cat used to run away when the range hood was on, but this range hood doesn't bother him at all. Overall, this is a powerful, efficient, and surprisingly quiet upgrade that I am very excited about!
