RC12-30 Stainless Steel range hood is a decent upgrade from our old hood. It will match my Bosch 800 Series Slide-In Range. The heat output of the range needed at least a 800 CFM exhaust fan. I fully tested all the functions before installing it. It does weigh in like 40 pounds. The template is accurate but there was no template for rear screw placement. I do have a pair of rear lower screws installed, anchored. It was a simple install. I just used 2 bottle jacks with a couple pieces of plywood and raised it into place, wormed the cord through the freshly "hole-sawed" passage way to the receptacle. Finished raising it into place making sure screws were inside the hood then raised the hood a bit more, pushed the hood into position and tightened the screws. Ta-Da, easy-peezy. Turned the breaker back on to test and confirm operation. Works Great. The only real flaw this hood had, is the lame kelvin rating lamps; you will want at least 5-6000K Lamps to replace these low color reedition lighting that the fan comes with..Oh yea the other thing is the finger prints. Micro-Fibre time. Other than that unit is great!! and the price was pretty good as well.. Thanks Amazon.

I stir fry ALOT!! And I have gone through a number of over the range microwaves with fans that have been either two weak or failed. I found Vikio. I actually bought a different range hood that didn’t really meet my need. Vikio customer service reached out and helped me find a new hood. And this one is absolutely PERFECT! This fan really moves air! Installation was straight forward. We vented ours to the rear although you could vented through the top. (It’s nice to have options.) It’s easy to clean. And the lighting that it provides is very good. This is a solid, well built and powerful product. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this range hood. But more than that, I give a five star rating to the Vikio customer service team. I was helped by a real person who knows their product line. In a world full of “robo help” it was refreshing it get some real help.

the good thing is it moves a lot of air and is super quiet. the bad is that it is not manufactured to the dimensions it shows. it's about a 1/8 short in all dimensions. and its really heavy. you need to make sure your cabinets can handle the weight. if you have particle board cabinets it will pull out the screws, and you need 2 people to lift it in to place and hold it until a 3rd person can screw it in. the ugly, mine was scratched and dented. fortunately for me it was all on the back side and out not visible once mounted. additionally, the vent hole is not a standard location, making it impossible to use a 90-degree bend pipe for the exhaust, i ended up using flexible ducting to install it, but that stuff does not flow as well as sheet metal piping. also it is price compare to the quality you receive.
