I kinda bought this on a splurge for some webcam lighting. It's definitely ok. I wish the chafing cable was longer and was 90 degree but past that it's a great like for webcam sessions.

A fantastic portable light which will help low light situations as a photographer immensely. They work best in pairs. I will explain why. I take a ton of sports, wedding, event photography where spots notice is important to catching the moment where a flash determines a bright and almost overcast over colors and backgrounds. You rarely catch the perfect Bokeh with a flash or speedlight unless you use it as a remote. Thats a ton of work in the moment shots. You may lose ithat opportunity. That is everything in events. The moment. Weddings. The moment. The smile the post processing. The colors. Natural as can be. Not subdoed colors. Smiles. Makeup. Glitter all a factor. And blur! You cannot porcess blur as people say if you dont have the 7k lens and 7k camera rig where uou can just go full auto and click the shutter. And have perfect non edit photo compositions. I shoot in manual mode, as most do 90% of the time. Only Av or Tv when shooting on non prime lenses. Thst being said. Perfect lighting is essential to these moments. I bought 1 light was stunning and my pictures were perfect. But I needed to limit my gear from studio work and event work. The less you carry. The better you can perform. I cut down 2 studio lights and a power battery by buying 2 of these to use for photography. My entire studio, minus stands and props, takes less than 6 minutes to assemble. Tripods and all, thanks to 2 of these now in my permanent kit. I can connect a portable usb charger and have unlimited lighting as if they were plugged in. That eliminates a wall outlet or power generator all together! A simple rubber band and tripod and your charger gives you 4 to 7 hours of additional lighting. Basically the full event. You are now portable. And walk around studio. Fully. Cons: power is limited to roughly 4hrs hour full power at 50% 8hrs and at 30% 10+ hours consistent. Buy a few battery chargers. Connect seamlessly to the light. You have triple that. No kidding. 8500MAh triples the onboard battery because of NO HEAT to the unit. A major plus in longetivity and capturing the moments you would miss chsnging batteries or recharging devices. Pros: Ultra portable professional studio lighting. Lighting control from natural, yellow tint or warm lighting, smooth control system, battery power indicator, micro usb power wall or battery optionsal, super fast charge from discharge, 2.5hrs full charge on a 2.4w usb wall charger. Incredibly small and compact unit you can carry in your camera sling or bag. Provides 1ft up to 18ft of stong lighting in daylight or dusk in pairs of 2. But buy more = more light. And roughly 10ft of pure strong light in daylight or dusk, solo. Perfect for group shots to capture faces in large settings in pairs. And not lose your edges in facial structures. So many positives. For this unit. I will update on durability at a later post. But for the money this is an excellent choice for the amateur, hobbyist, professional photographer, regardless of how you shoot. Macro, Portrait, Event, Sports, Family, Product, or to use as portable lighting in general as well, emergencies, power outages, for even your study. Update 2023: Battery still strong but had to superglue the base from breakage after use. I've had to glue all 4 LED panels. But still usable as static on a tripod. But they cannot be used as mobile photography or on a camera. But only tripod. Still usable. Overall great product with decent usability. ... show more

Love this light. It’s super bright and it gives you the ability to deem it and change the tone, HOWEVER the battery life could be improve. EDIT: I must say that this company has great customer service. After my review they immediately reached out to help me with the lights and if necessary exchange them. I received my replacement and a free upgrade and so far so good. I will be testing the battery life soon. ... show more

This little guy is impressive. I have the previous, larger Raleno 192-LED light, as well, and this one is almost as bright with its 116 LEDs. I have trouble picturing LUX and wattage and all the other measures of brightness, so I did a controlled test with each light and found this one holds up pretty well against its big brother. For my test, I set my DSLR to a common starting point for shooting video: 1/60s, ISO 400 and f/3.5. I placed the light 1 foot away from the subject (a semi-reflective piece of aluminum decor), then turned the brightness dial to 1%. (White balance was set to 5600K.) I took an exposure reading with my camera, then adjusted the knob upward until the camera said the subject was exposed properly. With this light, I reached proper exposure at 65%, which I think is pretty good for how little it costs! (For comparison, the big light reached proper exposure at 50% from 1 foot away.) I then moved the light back to 2 feet from the subject and continued testing exposure. I found that at 100% brightness, the subject was about 1 stop underexposed, which would still provide quite usable video. If you have a wider prime lens, or if you wanted to adjust down to 1/30s or bump the ISO up, you could easily achieve proper exposure. (For comparison, the big light was 3/4 of a stop underexposed at 100% and 2 feet away.) Again in comparison to the larger light, I like the large dials on this one better for quick adjustments. The only thing I wasn't fond of was that this light has a slightly greener tint than the large light. With both lights set to 100% and 5600K, the larger one seems more magenta (and seemingly closer to neutral), while the smaller one seems more green. If you were using them together, I doubt anyone who isn't a pedantic photographer would notice, but something to keep in mind if you do professional work. I was also impressed that the light came fully charged out of the box, which is a nice gesture from the manufacturer. Overall, I'm pretty pleased, and I think most people in the market for a light this size will be pleased with this one, especially for the price and especially if you get a couple of them to use in tandem. ... show more
