I thought these lights didn’t work, they were always going on and off with no one around, I though maybe the bugs were setting them off. In the process of looking for another bulb to get, I discovered that these lights detect motion through the walls. I tested and verified this. So they do work properly, just won’t work for my application. They’re bright but won’t last as long or be as efficient since they see through walls. ... show more

I use these bulbs inside closets to turn on the light when I open the door. They actually turn on before I open the door as they can sense you even through walls. As bright as a 100 watt bulb. The only issue is that it must be really dark for them to work ( like inside a closet). I tried them in my garage but the dim ambient light in the daytime prevented them from turning on. UPDATE The first bulb lasted from 8/3/24 to 10/2/ 24. The second lasted from 10/2/24 to 10/3/24. In a closet with door closed. I have these lights in a glass enclosure outside. They are bright, and blue, and will ruin your night vision quickly. But wow are they sensitive. Whatever means of sensing they have, they can sense a cat through the glass enclosure, a double-paned window, and two polyester curtains about 8 feet away. To that end, I hope my neighbors aren't too upset. I did notice that bugs, rain, leaves, and snow don't trigger the light. Update: the first bulb died after 13 months of being installed outside in an enclosure. But because I only turn the light on in the winter, it was likely only powered for about 80 nights. ... show more

I installed 2 of these radar motion lightbulbs on separate condo units on their door entry way. They first functioned accordingly. Then after a month both lightbulbs are staying on all night. When I remove the glass globe enclosure, they would go off accordingly but trigger on frequently from any slight motion such as a wiggling tree branch. I wish to resolve the problem with the manufacturer but I couldn't find their contact information on their website. I then replace the glass globe with a plastic globe and now the light bulb seems to behave correctly and is not sensitive to slight motions from the tree branches wiggling. I put one of these light bulbs at the bottom of my basement stairs. For the first five days it worked great. Would turn on when either I or the cat came down the first couple of steps. Would turn off after a short time once I came back upstairs. Then after about 5 days it wouldn't turn on every time I came downstairs then it quit turning on at all. I took it out of the socket, let it set for a few minutes then reinserted it into the socket. It worked again but only for a short time. Since it came in a two pack I thought that one of the bulbs might be defective so I switched out the bulb. The other one did the same thing (but this one didn't even make it through the first day). These are really bright and for that they get 5 stars. They really light up the area. The ones I got did not work well. I put one into an existing fixture on a shed and turned it on. Worked perfectly. Thought it was a great purchase. Then we started to notice it was on almost all the time. It would do it's 17 second on time, turn off for 5 seconds and turn right back on. We thought maybe the slightest movement would set it off. But later we had some cold breezeless nights and it just continued to cycle. I tried changing the fixture thinking it might be interacting with the radar function but the same behavior persisted. Since it was a 2 pack I tried the other bulb. Same result.
