Good materials, very robust design. Proper brass inserts for the stainless steel closing screws. There's a channel molded on the box for a strip gasket; the gasket is provided as a length of very soft, very elastic material you install in the channel on final assembly, then trim to length. The screw holes for fixing the box are on compartments apart from the main volume, so that no water can come in through there. Make sure to check the inside dimensions before you choose a size - The walls are thick and the screw "wells" intrude well into the nominal area of the box. Update: 09/29/22 Original units holding up in harsh Minnesota weather. I purchased another set for an expansion of my current system. This time I used spray foam to insulate the inside connections. I figure once it works no need to reopen and work on it. Although I did reopen one and it was actually easy to remove the foam. No sign of moisture inside. The gasket provided for the lid is easy to install and does work. Purchased 4 units for low voltage landscape lighting junction boxes. I was able to drill just the correct sized hole for the number of wires entering the box and then used a silicone sealant on the inside of the box at the holes for waterproofing. I spray painted the boxes (light sanding to scuff up the smooth finish) a matt brown to match the landscape mulch. I wish I had found these earlier in my project. ... show more

Good overall box great for small junction boxes My only complaint is that the hardware for the lid is the wrong style. The screws supplied are button head cap screws The problem is the holes for the lid are countersunk. I replaced the hardware with stainless steel socket head countersunk screws. (M5-0.80 x 15mm) Probably $1.10 worth of hardware if you buy in bulk. But that just what you get with made in china products 🤷♂️ ... show more

I had to create transformer from mono XLR Low Z to dual 1/4 inch High Z outputs and this box worked perfectly I have used the box in a live performance and it was pure clean sound going to the house system. I'm very happy I even have a second box if I need to make another type later on.
