Buckle up because I’m going to take you on a ride with this review and give you the real scoop. Let’s start out by saying I’m not a handy Mandy. My dad helps me put together the more difficult home improvement projects but I dabble now and again with doing things on my own. This was a nightmare to fit and install. Let me tell you first off that you need a large cutting board and one of those cutting wheels to do this in any efficient and effective manner. I went through a whole roll of this stuff for two small windows because the first round I tried just using a box cutter and ruler and when they didn’t work I just went to regular scissors. It’s impossible to cut with any sort of accuracy. I got them to be as good as they were going to get and then went to install them and it was a mess. Even though I own my house it must have gotten the landlord special from the previous owners when they painted because there was paint all around the edges of the windows. It was a pain to remove because this stuff won’t stick if there is anything at all on the surface. And now this is definitely user error but I also say the instructions were not clear and I ended up putting the wrong side on the window and it barely stuck. At this point in the project I was swearing and sweating and could not take another minute of torture so I just ended up putting tape on the window to keep it up. Judge me if you want. A few months after the first disastrous attempt, I had a different project I was working on and ended up borrowing a large cutting board and wheel cutter from my mom and thought I would attempt these window coverings again with better tools. Cutting it to size was a breeze this time and I also had to foresight to put it correct side against the window so all in all it was a little better of an experience. But it is after a few months now peeling off from the top. I haven’t tried to reinstall it but that’s my next move when I feel motivated enough. The end result looks okay and I do enjoy the rainbows it creates on the walls but I would not buy this again and if I did I would ask someone else to put it up. ... show more

I decided to do some updating in my home starting with the interior of my front door. My toddler and my 2 dogs would keep running up to the door windows to bark (yes my child barked with the dogs), they slobbered all over the bottom glass and would constantly twist up the blinds. I thought this window film looked nice online and decided to give it a chance. It's beautiful! It came rolled up with clear instructions but I still had a little trouble. I followed the directions but the film would eventually roll off the window because of how it is packed. I decided to make a template of the windows then put them under a heavy book for a few hours to flatten them out. They went on perfectly that way! My son loves the rainbow effect on the floor when the sun shines directly at the windows. No one is barking at everything within view, I can only see shapes if it is close up to the glass so I don't need to worry about our privacy. There are a few tiny little air bubbles I wasn't able to remove no matter how hard I tried on all of the glass but I can only see them if I'm close to the glass and actually looking for bubbles. I accurately measured each pane (Don't assume every window pane is the exact same size. They very slightly and that will make all the difference when cutting and installing) and used sharp scissors to cut the material. I originally cut the film an inch larger than necessary as suggested in the instructions. This film is kind of thick so trimming it with a utility knife or an exacto knife in the corners was near impossible. I was actually messing up the caulk or silicone sealant on my window when doing it this way. Just use good scissors and cut accurately. Use a ruler to get nice straight edges. This stuff goes on easy and while the water is still wet, you can slide it around to get it just where you want it! I installed this on the bottom two rows of my back door. I have windows that cover the entire door and my four dogs often react to every squirrel and every cat and every leaf that blows by that they can see! This was a great way to obstruct their view while still allowing light to come in. It has been really effective. My teenage daughter used what I had left over in her room. This stuff is beautiful. We recently bought an old house and it has a window in the restroom that faces the front yard and street. I wanted to keep the privacy without blocking the natural light so I thought I would try out this window film. I am so glad I did! It's beautiful! When I first took it out of the package, I thought... it has no rainbow effect, but once I peeled the backing off, I could see a bit of the colors in the light. The next day, I walk in and there's a beautiful rainbow of light reflecting on the wall. I love it! It's super easy to put on and remove. Just spray a little water and you can apply it, adjust, reapply, remove in seconds. Take your time for measurements and take time cutting so you can get it as straight as possible. That was the only thing I struggled with and only because I was too excited. I'm ordering more to cover more windows without blocking the sunlight until we get to remodeling. 100% recommend ... show more

Applied these to windows facing east and absolutely love the kaleidoscope/rainbow colors that project into the living space as the sun is rising!
