I’ve always been curious about the many products on Amazon that are branded with bizarre, fake-sounding company names. I was shopping for frosted window film the other day because our neighbors keep doing yard work on the side of the house right outside our living room while my girlfriend is rolling around on the sofa and kicking her feet in the air, listening to records. As usual, Amazon had fifty different versions of the same product, all from brands that you know and trust like Hidbea, Finnez, Lemon Cloud and Nicetown. I chose the product made by Rabbitgoo, mostly because of the reviews and because they’d really made some effort with typography and layout in the product description. My Rabbitgoo window film arrived yesterday and I was again impressed with the design. The package had a very modern black and white logo graphic and was printed on a quality matte-coated stock. The typography was completely different than on the Amazon site, but considering this is the cut-throat business of online window film, I’m willing to let the branding inconsistency slide. At least they’re making the effort. But I didn’t realize how much of an effort they’re making until I visited the website printed on the package. Wow! It turns out Rabbitgoo mostly sells pet accessories (the website makes no mention of window film) and if you click on the “about us” tab, you’re treated to an obviously bogus but lovingly crafted founder’s backstory about Jason, a man driven by love for his dog, Lucky, and his desire to free them both from the misery and suffering of living in a world with so many poorly designed and low-quality pet accessories. Through his passion, wise selection of quality materials and superior supply chain, Jason succeeds. And check out that badonkadonk on the splash page! I don’t care what they sell, I just want to do business with these people. This is why China will dominate the world for the next 100 years. If I'd ever considered getting into the pet accessory or window film business, I'd be throwing in the towel about now. Anyway, as far as window films go, this one is quite good. I used a different brand of film on other windows in my house, but it was more clear and had a granular surface texture that looked terrible when the sun shone through it. Not so with Rabbitgoo, which is very smooth and matte white. It lets in lots of daylight and is my favorite brand of window film. As for the negative reviews... read the instructions, people! This is not a complicated product. If the film "looks terrible" or "fell off" your window, it's because you forgot to remove release liner before putting it on. There is no adhesive, it's just a very thin sheet of plastic that clings to the glass with the help of a little water to remove trapped air bubbles. Remember Colorforms from when you were a kid? Same idea. I've had this stuff on my bathroom windows for three years and it looks exactly the same as the day I put it up.

We recently moved into a newer apartment building and though the provided blinds block out a lot of light, the light was bleeding into the room at the edges of the blinds, making for quite a bright room, even at pre-dawn. I decided to get this blackout film for the sides of the blinds for a non-permanent, no-adhesive/drill option, as this is a rental. The film is easy to install, is sleek, and works!

I really wanted to give a review to provide some tips. These are really great privacy window screens and you can’t see in or out. I provided a pic at night so you can see as well the difference with and without the privacy screen as I wasn’t finished putting them all up. The clear film that is on it, can be a pain to take off so that requires some patience. I would highly suggest cleaning the windows with soap and water first and then going back to windex. I provided a pic to show how the screen will show every flaw on the window versus a clean application. I didn’t do a very good job with my first application in terms of cleaning, just thought that two windex rounds would do the trick but nope, once I sprayed with water, shamefully it was black. It’s not a big deal as I will be getting this window replaced due to a crack in it. I wanted to show the difference between how it will look if your window is dirty versus clean so please take the time to really clean your windows. A good box cutter and a wedge tool will help ensure clean cuts and getting bubbles out of this is super easy. Its not a sticker, it just adheres to the window so you can easily remove and adjust as needed. That’s what I love about this, it’s very forgiving if you make a mistake. I’m only removing one star because of the clear film. You wouldn’t know it was on there if you didn’t read the instructions.

We moved into a home & didn’t have window coverings yet. The neighbors flood light is pointed directly into our master bedroom window; needless to say made for a terrible night. I ordered this product & received it within hours. My husband thought it would take hours to install. Nope. It was SO easy to install & the quality was phenomenal. Complete blackout. I did not use water like the instructions say, since it is very temporary, but it stayed in place perfectly.

If you want something to totally block sunlight then this is for you. The clear backing you must remove before installing is a little frustrating to remove (but I don’t have long fingernails either). It takes a minute to get it started but once you do it peels right off. I put this on my southern facing windows because the sun is so hot coming through the blinds. It worked perfect. No more hot furniture and no more glare on the tv. Has helped a little in my electric bill too I think. Every little bit saved is great because power bills are so high anyway.
