Love the jacket, fitted around the mid section
The jacket replaces an older different brand with similar style (different brand was roughly 10 years old and the zipper eventually failed). The Rab is a nice, mid weight down jacket. Already worn it a couple of times in 30 degree / windy weather and have no complaints. Keeps me warm. It's not a heavy down jacket so unsure how it would do with temps in the low teens to zero, but it's great for what I want it for. Note that it has a "fitted" feel around the midsection which suits me fine, and it looks good for the same reason, but if tight mid section is a concern, you might size up. I am a medium in most shirts and ordered his in a medium as well, so I would call it true to size, with note about the mid section. ... show more

Very comfortable and fitted
I bought this thinking of using it as a mid layer for cold winters (under a shell or an overcoat). I needed something that was comfortable, but also fitted close to the body, with enough room to add a base layer underneath. This jacket is PERFECT for that. The fit is amazing, not boxy, but enough to have a light fleece or sweater underneath. It is also very warm by itself (0 celcius, no problem), and the beluga color is very special. It is a little too technical for more formal occasions, but it can be worn without problems under a more classy shell. It is also very comfortable (my main issue with other jackets was with the back and armpits, but not problem with this jacket). Great quality jacket.

This jacket is exactly what I was looking for. Great quality and looks. I am 73 inches tall with a 33 inch waist. Jacket fits perfectly in the large. Nice cut on the back side. Great job Rab. This was definitely an excellant purchase.

Very similar to Patagonia Men's Down Sweater Jacket

Warm, comfortable, and a great fit. I like it as well or better than my Patagonia Men's Down Sweater Jacket; they are very similar jackets. I am 5'8' and 145 pounds, and the small fit perfectly. Some people don't care for the European zipper (zipper pull is on the opposite side), but I have not found it to be a drawback. I do like the exterior phone pocket on the RAB that is not on the Patagonia. Both the RAB and Patagonia have very similar retail prices and can also be found for similar discounts on sale. ... show more

WARNING: Zipper pull is on the LEFT side

I like this jacket for the way it looks and feels. The only problem I have with it is that the zipper pull is on the left side when wearing it. I just read that some men’s jackets manufactured by European companies like Rab put the zipper pulls on the left. Ok. But ALL of my other jackets have the zipper pulls on the right and my brain naturally defaults to that . Having the zipper on the left just feels weird to me. It’s a bit annoying. ... show more

Priced just over fair enough. Nice Jacket. Quality you can see and feel
comfort - 5 stars. It's comfortable. Probably why you pay more price - 4 stars. Other similar spec jackets for less. durability - Not sure yet style - 5 stars. Looks better and has better fit than most others. Does not come with stuff sack to pack it away. 2024 -2025 models

Snug fit around waist

Super warm, quality is great. Fit is definitely tight around the waist, more roomy around the chest and shoulders. More fitted than relaxed. I haven’t had any snag issues with the zipper. Would recommend if it fits your build. I’m 5’9 and 195. Would be better fit if I lost another 10lbs.
