I bought this R36S on a whim because I missed playing all those old games from my childhood, and honestly, it's been an absolute blast. The screen is super bright and clear. Way nicer than I expected for something this cheap and classics like Mario Kart on SNES or Pokemon on Game Boy run perfectly smooth. It came loaded with thousands of games already, which was awesome and saved me so much time setting it up. Battery life easily lasts through my whole commute. Adding a few of my own ROMs was pretty straightforward once I watched a quick YouTube video, and the buttons feel really clicky and solid. Having the dual sticks makes PS1 stuff like Crash Bandicoot play way better than I thought it would. For the price, I'm seriously impressed and super happy with this little thing.

Bought for my husband for Christmas, he was on it for probably 3 days anytime he had some down time lol he loves it, it has all the games he played as a kid on there so he's having a lot of fun. Has some he's never heard of. The buttons don't always make sense for the games but he figured it out. Has long battery life, easy charging. Great price (purchased on a Christmas or Blk Friday deal).

Excellent Handheld Gaming Device! Works just like the original R36S consoles with no problems yet. Though, keep in mind, this is not an original R36S console and is a clone, so if you have the “Upgraded 256GB SD” with the new version of ArkOS from the original RetroPro seller in China, it is not compatible (at least I don’t think so). I’m still working on trying to figure out a loophole for the Upgraded SD to work. If the Product Description stated that this was a clone device and not the original, I would’ve given it 5 stars, but the lack of transparency has earned it a 4 star. Other than that I’m very happy with it. The buttons are all functional and response time is crisp. The screen on this is actually higher quality than the Original R36S consoles. NOTE TO SELLER: If you reach out and tell me how to make the Upgraded 256GB ArkOS card work on this device, I will raise this review to 5 stars.

great item for nostalgic video games. decent battery but takes a while to charge. buttons are a bit confusing and saving games is also confusing. the device also does not have enough memory to process some of the games (like super smash bros) which is annoying. my device came with only one memory card installed in the OS slot nothing in the game slot. also, on booting if you press the down button it shows the commands and functions that are run. several items fail but the screen changes too fast for me to read which ones.

Impressed with the PS1 library it has. Games I haven't seen come with other R36's or V40 max or the R40max. Stuff like Vandal Hearts, Legend of Legaia, twisted metal's, tony hawk proskater 2-4 just to name a few. 415 ps1, 152 N64, every Pokemon from red blue - Ds Black (not that I would recommend playing ds games without a second screen.) However I can say just with the brief 1-2 hours I spent looking through the games you couldn't go wrong with a purchase. (No Soul Reaver, or Castlevania SOTN, but I have those on other models) Solid button quality for the price as well. Estimate a good 5000 hrs of play before you would want to replace the battery. Sound is meh, but if you're like me you are purchasing this for the library not to be the perfect machine for everything. It runs most games alright, still have a lot to try out will update when I can. *** Update now that I have had a chance to sit down and attempt to play a game on it. I realized that it has a broken button on arrival, the connection on the back of the R2 button most likely broke during shipping which means some of the quick access features will not be usable. As well as a lot of the Playstation library will not be playable.

Bought several of these from different sellers and so far, this one’s my favorite!! The product is sturdy, the buttons do not wiggle but are secure in their slots. They are also very responsive. There’s over 40,000 games on here, several duplicates from different gaming systems. Navigating through them isn’t too bad, you can search all games, by gaming systems, or by titles. You can save the ones you want to your favorite folder for easy access. The audio is loud and a little scratchy, the screen isn’t terrible for the price point. This will definitely give you and your kids hours of fun without needing a WiFi connection. SD card comes already installed.
