After a move that involved several sets of stairs, we decided we were going to get rid of all of our big/heavy furniture in favor of pieces that will be easier to move if/when we do it again. We also wanted to start having a more cohesive look and our mishmash of hand-me-down and thrifted furniture just wasn't cutting it. So we started out in the living room then moved on to the crafting room and finally dove in to the bedroom. We were replacing one very large antique armoir and a large dresser. We were initially going to use 2 smaller units but going with this giant one was cheaper than the 2 small ones AND offered us additional cubbies. I was worried that the deep, wide drawers of my armoir were housing far more clothing than would fit in my allotment of these cubes. I was also concerned about folding pants in a way that would fit in the shallow depth. But, it was all for naught because everything fit fine, I've got extra space in every cubby I used AND we were able to dedicate 4 cubbies to display space for the things that used to live on top of our dressers. We bought 6 fabric bins that we use on the bottom row to hold socks, underpants and face masks. BE SURE YOU MEASURE BEFORE YOU BUY! I measured and it was still so much larger than I imagined. It fits perfectly into the place I measured out but it just looks REALLY BIG. It is a chore to build this. It's HUGE and getting all the panels to fit together (and STAY together) is a PITA. It only came with a few zip ties so we bought another 200 pcs and tip tied every row as we finished it. It made all the difference. We had previously assembled another unit of 18 cubbies but waited until the end to zip tie them - big mistake! We learned from that experience and it made things so much less frustrating to have them zip tied before moving on. The click you hear when they're together right is so important BUT the grid panels are coated in black paint so they don't make the crisp clicking sounds that the other panels make when you snap them in. Give yourself PLENTY of time to build this. Have a 2nd person if possible (especially when it's time to zip tie the back side) and take lots of breaks for the sake of your hands, if not your sanity. We had to walk away a few times and come back to it. The final push was rows 3-5 and it took us about 6hrs. I'm super happy with how it looks. We have 2 doors that won't stay all the way closed but I just give them a tap when I walk by and they're fine for a while. I would definitely buy this again if I need this much storage in another room. ... show more

I really like this unit. I will say you have to be careful putting it together because the materials are not the sturdiest. I wouldn’t put anything very heavy on it. I use it for yarn and it works great for that. Assembly was kind of difficult and the plastic hammer it came with was pretty useless. I did end up just using my hands to put it together, but a rubber mallet would be useful. Overall I do like the unit a lot and would repurchase and recommend it. I love the fact that you can assemble these into any shapes you want. The only issue I had was that the doors are not completely flat so you have to twist them slightly to make them line up. Other than that I would purchase this again no problem.

At first I thought the wire wasn't going to hold much but when it's all connected they can hold a good amount. I'm still in the process of building and yes, its "easy" to assemble in that it doesn't take a brainiac to figure it out but it is tedious. When things get big, every time you hammer in one part another jumps out of place, this might be fixed with the clips that you're given or zip ties but the paper instructions insist that you wait till the end to use them. That's flawed as you can't hammer or easily squeeze parts together when they're in the middle of your masterpiece. Next time I rebuild this I'll be doing some things differently but overall this works for what I need. P.s. if you want 30 boxes but in a different shape, buy a few of the smaller versions so you have more materials to work with. P.s.s. the bottom tier is all plastic as a base so you have less wire than plastic walls. ... show more

I liked the look and amount of storage. I didn’t like the minimal directions. Also, unless I did something wrong the doors all don’t stay shut. I am using it for storing my knitting yarn.
