Installed these had them give off this grinding sound for a few minutes took the car for a high speed run 60mph to 20mph hard braking then 100mph to 40mph. The grinding sound got less but it was still kind of loud people walking by would hear when I get on di brakes. After about a day or two all brake sounds stop the rotors are broken in now I do notice increase brake dust but brakes are sharp when car is warmed up in the morning and I start slow driving. I also notice that when the brakes are used and they cool for awhile then I use the car again the brake pedal takes a little more effort to stop until they warm up again overall excellent brakes and rotors. they get rust spots when it rains but they aren’t noticeable. ... show more

  • Didn't fit despite 'guaranteed' fit. And photo is misleading. Customer service? Fuhgeddaboudit. . .
Hate leaving a poor review but here's why it is merited. . . The product arrived timely and frankly, I was excited and the rotors looked very nice. Unfortunately, as I came to realize, both the front and rear rotors were wrong for the vehicle despite the "guaranteed fit", and the rear brake pads were also wrong. Also, there was no hardware (shims or clips) despite being shown in the photo. On closer inspection, they are not actually listed as included but they clearly depicted and that's just bogus. As to the fit, I do understand that there are multiple cars of the same general make and model year as my car, so while I was not pleased (since I already had the car apart because the parts were 'in hand'), I called R1 Concepts directly to see if they could help resolve the error. Seemed only fair to give them a chance to resolve the situation. First, I called on Sunday and the phone system kept telling me I was 'next' for a customer service agent. After 10 minutes, I checked their website only to learn they are closed on Sundays. (Apparently I would have been 'next' had I held on until Monday morning in California.) [News Flash R1 Concepts: you can actually set up your automated voice response system to recognize that you are closed on Sundays, and it can also provide your hours to callers (note: they are on your website if you do not know them). It can even encourage people to call back during your open hours. Instead of taking the time to do that, apparently R1 Concepts is okay with wasting customer's time on hold. Becuase wasting time on hold is what customers really love. . .] I then called back on Monday. My bigger issue is that once I got through to a representative, which did not take too long when they are actually open for business, R1 Concepts expressed zero interest (in words or deed) in actually resolving the issue, or helping me. I do have to give them some points for not putting on any pretenses they gave a damn about my inconvenience or had any desire to resolve the issues with my purchase. So at least they were honest about not really caring. (It's important to know who you are dealing with.) They simply acknowledged that there were "fitment issues with Amazon's system" and told me to deal with Amazon. Again, instead of showing concern for a customer, R1 Concepts blamed Amazon and basically disavowed me as a customer of their products, and just said for me to deal with Amazon. They said they had no way to verify my purchase, etc. so they could not help me At this stage I was simply trying to determine if there might be any simpler way to resolve the issue other than returning the product and leaving this review. Note: this was a $300 purchase. Whatever concerns R1 Concepts may have had, they could have taken the time to take my name, look into it, make sure I knew what to order the 'next' time, etc.. Or they could have taken the information down about the order to at least try to update/modify the fit information so that others do not have the same issue or inconvenience. They could have taken note of the misleading product phot that clearly shows the new brake clips. But R1 Concepts did none of these things. I would have gladly exchanged the purchase for the correct parts. It could have been worked out easily. But R1 Concepts not even remotely interested in discussing or trying to help me. Then the R1 Concepts representative actually asked if there was "anything else I can help you with today?" as IF they had actually helped with anything at all. Are you kidding me? No, I am not kidding. It's a shame since as I indicated, the drilled and slotted rotors seemed decently made. But with such cavalier attitude about buyers of their products and such a classically bad approach to customer service, and trying to wash their hands of customers who bought from their store on a different platform, I can only say "Buyer BEWARE". I would not recommend buying this product or any product from R1 Concepts (at least from their Amazon store) until they revamp their customer service and review and verify their listings for proper fit. I cannot speak to buying from them directly, but I can not imagine that when problems arise, they handle it any better when purchased directly. If so, that raises separate issues - why are the selling their products and putting their brand on Amazon if they do not want to deal with customers who purchase through that platform? It is still their product. The label clearly reflected that the box shipped directly from their facility to Amazon, and then to me. There are numerous other options out there for your business and I would much rather deal with a company that cares; one that will take the time to resolve issues, or ensure others won't get screwed-up orders with wrong parts, or at least correct their listing, rather than a company that want to pass the blame and responsibility on to a e-tail platform that is nothing more than a middleman.
