But this effect is very nice! It’s much prettier than staring into an ashy hole. The media could not be loaded. First, the positive. It arrived within a few days and was well packaged. The product has a good weight to it and seems solidly constructed. The heat output is okay, this is not going to heal large room but will add a little supplemental warmth. Where it falls short is how it looks simulating a fire. The embers flicker low, medium, high and repeat that exact pattern and brightness about every 3 seconds. It's not at all realistic and could have easily been corrected by randomizing the flicker. There's a glass window on the back of the unit that projects a flame effect onto the firebox of your fireplace. If your firebox is black, you're not going to see much going on behind it. And it's too noisy. You hear the rotation and low grinding sound as the wheel turns with flame generator. So if you're looking for a little bit of heat and something to fill the firebox, it's okay. If you're looking for a good looking simulated fire, this is not the product. I'll try to post some videos and pictures of it in the next few days. ... show more
