  • Great for added memory and looks great on the desk

Works as discribed. Looks great together with the iMac Mini

  • Money Saver
Style: for Mac Mini M4
This hub is really a money saver on hard disk space and also saves space on my desk. All ports are now up and working as expected. I am subtracting a star due to the fact that the wrong USB-C cable was included with the purchase and the HDMI port did not work. Customer service was very helpful in determining the problem and then replacing the cable once Chinese New Year was over. ... show more

  • internal drive often becomes unmounted and won't work
Style: for Mac Mini M4
This product is a great idea. However the internal 4 TB ssd often becomes unmounted and will not work. You then have to open disk utility and tell it to mount the drive. Sometimes that works and sometimes not. If it still won't mount you have to do a full shutdown and restart. I had the predecessor for this device with an older Mac mini and it had the same problem. ... show more

  • The Perfect Mac Mini Sidekick
Style: for Mac Mini M4
I got this aluminum stand hub for my Mac Mini, and it’s honestly one of the best add-ons I’ve used. It props the Mac up just enough to let air flow better, which helps keep it cool—a big plus since I don’t like it sitting flat on the desk. What really sold me, though, was the built-in SSD enclosure. I was able to add extra storage without needing to mess with iCloud or external drives. It supports up to 8TB, which is more than enough for me. The extra USB ports and card readers are super convenient too, everything plugs in right up front. It looks sleek on my desk and works like a charm. Great upgrade if you want better airflow, storage, and connectivity all in one. ... show more

  • Good, but could be better
Style: for Mac Mini M4
So close. This comes so close to being perfect. I like the design. I much prefer this horizontal form factor vs. a vertical one. The power button on the mini is now accessible. And it adds usb-a ports for our legacy accessories. But why oh why is one of the ports usb 2.0? About the only thing usb 2 is good for nowadays is a wired keyboard or dongle. Who wants a keyboard/mouse cable sticking out the front of their otherwise elegant looking Mac mini? True, I imagine most people are using Bluetooth by now, but some (me) prefer wired keyboards. I think an otherwise useless port like that would be better on the back, and add a usb-c or another high speed usb-a port on the front. Then it'd be perfect. ... show more

  • Great Mac mini stand that helps keep cool and extends usage options!
Style: for Mac Mini M4
Works well, I’ve been using for a couple weeks with no problems, it comes in so handy to have the extra usb ports. My Mac mini m4 sits nicely on it and it is easy to access the power button. Very happy with this product.

  • Decent but not perfect
Style: for Mac Mini M4
**Background:** I am far from a computer expert. But I'm savvy enough to have my Mac mini M2 run off an SSD. Go on regretting that now with the latest Sequoia and I'm taking away Apple Intelligence, but that's a whole other conversation. So the reason I bought this was we just got a Mac mini M4 base model. And we wanna be able to have that be our master computer for all our photos and videos. So keeping all that on an external drive, totally makes sense we've avoided having pay a premium for higher internal memory on the Mac mini. **Build Quality:** I think the bill quality is nice on this. It's the same kind of aluminum that the Mac mini four is and it looks very similar. **Functionality**. So the fit is exact to an M4 however, I think there's a little bit of a gap between the base of the Mac and the pad that it's sitting on. It's not a huge issue, but I would've preferred to be some kind of larger cut out so it sits perfectly flush. I also don't like that there are not any USB type A in the back. Everybody run some kind of weird thing through USPA. I've got a microphone that used to USB and the whole idea of getting something like this is to be cleaner than running a dongle but with limited plug-ins in the back, I think you can lose some of the aesthetic. So I think the whole idea of this kind of lifted design so that you can get to the controversial power button. To be honest, I think it's silly both Apple for designing it and for everybody trying to accommodate it. I push the power button on my Mac maybe once a month it's not like the Mac minis anything just pick the thing up and push the button. (sorry for the rant.) but I think that becomes an issue with everybody trying to design around that button. If you want easy access to the bar button, maybe this is a perfect design for you, but I think it impacts the overall design in a negative way from my perspective for a button that I'm gonna push maybe 10 times a year. **Performance:** So I loaded this with a SAMSUNG 990 EVO Plus SSD 1TB, PCIe Gen 4x4, Gen 5x2 M.2 2280. It's a very simple procedure they provide you the little tools you unscrew the door in the bottom. They just slide the SSD card in and then make sure you apply the heat sink tape they give you. You screw the SSD. And then close the door and put the screws back in for the door. Your next step is to initialize or format the drive. This is another issue. The SSD drive is showing up as "Realtek RTL9210 NVME". I'm not sure if this is a related to do the enclosure or the SSD itself. I am not tech savvy enough to figure it out and I don't think it really makes it issue as I can format and name the drive just as normally would. I did run speed tests, using a court they provided and using 40 gig USB cord I trust. I got similar numbers of 950 MB per second for write and 879 for read. Just for context I bought a dedicated enclosure two years ago for the Mac mini M2 and that's reading and writing well over 2000 MB/S. To be honest for most people I don't think it's really gonna make it big issue. I took a 30 GB file and it took a little over two minutes to transfer onto this drive. The only other functional thing is heat dissipation. And I don't have the equipment to test I can just go off the design in my experience. The SSD is at the bottom of this thing and you do apply the heat. Tape in the door itself is also aluminum with small fins, but it's at the very bottom. So if you're pushing your SSD really hard with large files back-and-forth, this may be an issue. That's for most people. I don't think you're gonna be dumping tile back-and-forth enough stress the SSD. **Conclusions:** if you want to get rid of your dongle, and want a cleaner design. I think this is a step in the right direction, particularly if you want access to the power button without having to pick up your "heavy" Mac mini. However, I don't think there's enough USB's in the back and I actually don't like the shelf design but it may help with better ventilation. I think the SSD performance numbers are OK, but I'd rather pay a little more and get a little better speed. ... show more
