With three different heat settings (that slowly warm up and massage speeds), you can adjust to what's comfortable for you. Might be a little loose for petite hands (like 100 lb elderly woman) but can put a pair of gloves on to increase the "size" of her hands to help her feel more of the pressure from the massaging device

I love the pressure and everything about this, except it doesn't massage the thumb/palm area. So I move my hands around in there and then my fingers go out the back and the circulation gets cut off, lol. It's good, just wish it would have a better pressure on my thumb meat (what is that area called)
