This bed was purchased for an older teen’s room. It took me about 40 minutes to put together. It wasn’t hard but the downfall was the instructions were just illustrations no words. But it was fairly easy to figure out. The slats go on nicely and they are not thin and flimsy. The frame is metal and has good cross support. The legs at the foot of the bed are some type of composite plastic but they are not flimsy or thin and feel very solid. Overall the bed feels solid. We have a 10in mattress on it. The head board has 2 positions that you can choose to screw it in at. We have it at the lowest one. The bed is low profile so if you are tall you may not want to be so low. The headboard is not nearly as tall as what the picture shows. If you do not have power tools, your fingers will be bruised and sore by the time you put it together with the tool they provide. It’s cute for the money, just a little different (not as nice) than the picture.

If you think they did not send a whole bed , just unzip the back of the headboard. It's magical how they fit it all in there!
