Not too high for 8ft ceilings and a 14 inch mattress I was able to assemble it myself but I wouldn't recommend it. Take the advice on the instructions and get someone to give u a hand and it will go together easy.     • Very high quality bed
This thing is made of THICK aluminum. 6mm thick, basically a quarter inch. It's made of the same stuff as those super high quality Star Wars light sabers. Thicker than my All-Clad cookware. This bed does NOT wiggle, creak or make any kind of sound in any way at all. I think it would support more adults than it could fit. If you're looking for something strong, this is it. There's no squeaking with this bed. Once put together, it's like a solid piece of indestructible metal. The slats are big fat high quality wall studs. I would say they are actually 2"x4", not today's two-by-fours. I bought the tallest one, meant for 10' ceilings (we have 10' ceilings). Mostly I was worried about paying such a high price that the quality wouldn't be there. Oh yes, the quality is there. 100%. I purchased directly and saved because of 12-week shipping. A few things: 1) if you don't order a foot rail, the lega won't have screw holes for the foot rail so you can't easily add a foot rail down the road. If you think you'll need one, get one now 2) today you have 10' ceilings so you buy the tallest one and tomorrow you might move where the ceilings are 8' but you're just going to shave off the feet? Ya, that could work so long as you cut below the X bracket and you have some serious machining tools 3) I set this up mostly by myself except for the bed slats step which definitely needs a 2nd soul. It took us about 4 hours. Drill with 5/32 hex bit came in handy. The installation is EASY but awkward/heavy. Easy in the sense that all you really do is align screws woth screw holes, and there aren't that many of them, maybe 48 total. But it's big and heavy 4) the guard rail installation was the hardest part. Curse words happened. 5) the workspace under this bed is now way more silent than before! The mattress adds great sound dampening. 6) getting a Purple mattress upstairs was a b+++$!! Those things are HEAVY and they TACO. We did it though, we did it! Curse words happened. It was pricey, but I feel it absolutely matches the quality. I put a 70" pottery barn Bedford desk under the bed and it fits perfectly to the wall without the legs or X bracket in the way. IDK, I have nothing bad to say about this bed. It's pricier here because of fast shipping. Standard delivery takes 12 weeks and will save you a bunch, but I don't think you can get that on Amazon. ... show more

Pros: EXTREMELY STURDY Issues: They say they provide all the tools you need, but it’s a lie. You get a tiny hammer and some Allen wrenches. The desk expansion is literally a scratched up slab of wood, no holes drilled at all, which was very frustrating. The aluminum of the bed was dented at some parts. The railing part is supposed to have a screw inside the holder to secure the long pipes in place. One of those was missing. The holes were drilled poorly and don’t align. I have no clue how you are supposed to build this thing with less than 3 people. Took three of us 5 hours total. ... show more

I have a small apartment by the beach in Florida, and needed to make the most of my very small space. I got the queen size loft and customized it to make it into a very cool storage room under my bed. It is built like an aluminum tank, and is solid as a rock. A part was damaged during shipping, and they took care of me completely. 100% satisfied! Product is great, the people were fantastic. This is a first class operation all the way! Highly recommend.     • Quality queen loft bed and great customer service
This bed is exactly what I wanted and needed. It’s 5’ off the ground and is totally stable for me, a large adult male. These guys are great and make a great product. They were also able to send taller posts when I needed to raise it a couple more feet.
