I assembled this myself except for the step of attaching the slats to the sides of the frames. Two people are definitely needed for that to keep slats aligned and guide them into holes as the the outside of frame is attached. Two people are also needed for holding base or head of each bed frame as the opposite side is attached to the vertical poles. Total assembly time was about 3-4 hours and I did not move particularly quickly. The frame seems very sturdy and I noticed no squeaking when I wiggled it once it was completed and in position. No one has slept on it yet so time will tell how it holds up under actual use. Although I have 6" twin mattresses on all three beds, the lower could accommodate a taller mattress. 6" is the right thickness for middle and upper bunk so the guardrails are effective. ... show more

Our kids love their new bunk bed. Assembly was pretty straight forward, though the bags have stickers on them for the part labeling and those stickers can come off pretty easy. We had to do some matching to make sure we used the right part. It wiggles if not attached to the wall, but not bad enough that we’re worried. The wood slats are probably the worst part. It was built and advertised. However, if you have an 8' ceiling or a small bedroom I would not recommend this. I put it in my grand daughters BR with 8' ceiling. While it fits, it does not provide what I would consider enough room between the ceiling and the bed. It was closer than the bunks we had on my submarine when I was in the Navy. I think this is a horrible product my daughter can't use the top bunk anymore the metal socks very thin and I just moved into my new home so It was in the box until December 29 I wish I did not buy this bed now I have to take a loss

Stands up to the rigors of a ten year old feral child, a bit of a pain to assemble but worth it in the long run. Surprised at the quality of the hardware and the design is well thought out. It's about as flimsy as you can imagine. It may be ok if you add some support brackets to the wall. In my case the desktop board came broken and was missing a few screws. Amazon would/could not send replacement parts but wanted to send an entire replacement with me having to return whatever wasn't needed. It doesn't squeak. It hold her weight. She has a desk and space below. This bed was the only solution I could find for our housing situation so that we are not against fire code and she has a desk in her room. On HUD you cannot have furniture in front of the windows and her twin bed always to long with the headboard attached. It had to be attached to support the bed. The only way it would fit made it in front of the window. Her room is big enough for a desk or a bed. Now she has both. She was able to assemble it herself. She is 14. I receive SSI income only, $943.00 monthly, I have to support her on my own so this was expensive for me and I am so glad it is a good strong frame. I got up there after the mattress was put on and I found it comfortable. She doesn't come out of her den much now, that means she likes it. ... show more
