I got this mattress to replace the one I had in my guest room. Upon opening it up there was a moderate chemical smell, but it wasn't overwhelming and I just let it air out overnight in the guest room with a fan and the window cracked and whilethe smell was still there in the morning, it was gone by the nighttime. After keeping it upright to let it air out better, I just plopped it on the box spring and made the bed. I decided to sleep on it that night and now I'm regretting not getting a bigger size, because this mattress is way more comfortable than the one in my bedroom. It's firm but still has give, and does a great job with temperature regulation (I tend to overheat), which led to the best night of sleep I've gotten in a long time. Now I occasionally sleep in the guest room! While it is much better for sleeping, if you step on it, you do sink in way more than my old one, which takes some getting used to.

My primary impression upon actually lying down is that the firmness level strikes a well-balanced equilibrium: it isn't so soft that you feel like you're sinking in completely, nor is it so hard that it feels uncomfortably rigid. It provides a medium-to-comfortable level of support—a sensation that I believe most people would find quite agreeable. I also consider the layer of cooling gel-infused memory foam to be a major plus. The surface texture feels more pleasant to the touch than that of a standard mattress, and it prevents you from feeling overly stifled or overheated during the night. This design feature genuinely enhances the sleep experience, particularly for those who tend to sleep hot. The individually pocketed springs also perform admirably, offering distinct and noticeable support; you won't feel the entire bed shaking whenever you turn over. Furthermore, the noise isolation is quite good, eliminating the distracting creaks and squeaks often associated with traditional spring mattresses—a crucial detail, as even the most comfortable mattress can disrupt your rest if it’s noisy. I used this 12-inch full mattress in a guest room, and it has a nice medium-firm feel that should work for a lot of sleepers. It is not overly soft where you sink too far in, but it still has enough cushioning on top to feel comfortable. After opening the box, I let it sit for a full day before putting sheets on it, and it expanded evenly. The support around the edges is better than I expected for a mattress in a box. Sitting on the side does not feel like it collapses right away, which is helpful in a smaller room. The surface also feels pretty smooth under a fitted sheet, with no weird dips or lumps after it settled. There was a mild new-mattress smell at first, but it faded after airing out. Overall, it feels like a solid upgrade for a guest bed or everyday full-size setup without spending a ton.

The Vrydraxe 12” full size mattress is a solid hybrid option that combines the best of both worlds—supportive pocket springs and pressure-relieving gel memory foam. Right out of the box, setup was simple, and the mattress expanded fully within the expected timeframe. Comfort-wise, it strikes a nice balance. The top layer has a soft, contouring feel that cushions pressure points, while the pocket springs underneath provide enough support to keep your body properly aligned. It works well for a range of sleeping positions, especially for those who don’t want something overly firm or too plush. The cooling gel memory foam is a noticeable plus. It helps regulate temperature better than traditional foam mattresses, so it doesn’t trap as much heat during the night. That makes a difference if you tend to sleep warm. Motion isolation is also handled well—movement on one side doesn’t transfer much to the other, which is great if you share the bed. At the same time, the springs give it a bit more responsiveness than an all-foam mattress, so you don’t feel “stuck.” Value for what we paid, was good! I picked this mattress because my older foam one has started to lose support, and I wanted to try going back to a spring style. It arrives the usual bed in a box way, rolled and vacuum sealed. Once opened, it expanded quickly, likely because of the springs, and after three days it looked and felt the same as it did right out of the packaging. It has a pretty standard look with a quilted cover, nothing unusual there. The lack of padding on the sides of the mattress seems odd to me. You can feel the springs through the sides, I'm pretty sure that's not normal. It is labeled as medium firm, but that has not been my experience. It feels closer to medium soft. This is a hybrid with springs, but the overall support is seriously lacking. After two nights, I woke up with noticeable back pain. It is fairly bouncy, though the motion stays pretty localized, which due to the pocketed coils. I am planning to switch back to my old mattress for a bit and then try this one again to see if anything improves. I am also skeptical of the 700 lb weight limit claim based on how it feels. At this price point ($230), this could work for someone without back issues who prefers a softer feel. For me, it does not provide enough support. If the second test run is better, I will certainly revise this review.

My daughter had been sleeping on a super thin, lumpy mattress but never complained. We had been wanting to replace it for a while, so when this mattress became available, I was beyond excited to grab it. The mattress arrived in a tall, narrow box, which kept it well protected. It was also rolled up and inside a bag, so it was nicely secured for shipping. Be careful when unwrapping it, as it uncoils with a lot of force! It almost knocked both of us over when we opened it. It did need a little time to off-gas. There was a strong chemical smell at first, but I think that is normal for any new mattress. What we love most about this mattress is not just how thick it is, but how firm it feels. Mattresses are very personal, and shopping online can be tricky because one person’s firm might feel soft to someone else. At the time of ordering, the description said medium firmness, but it has since been updated to firm, which is accurate. This mattress is truly firm and feels incredibly supportive. I also appreciate that it has springs. I find that many gel or memory foam mattresses get too hot and are not as supportive. The springs provide excellent support while still feeling comfortable. We are so happy with this mattress, and my daughter says her sleep has improved tremendously now that she is much more comfortable. If you are looking for a spring mattress that is truly firm, this is an excellent and affordable option. Now I want to update my mattress!
