Just got to constantly tighten the bottom that holds your reel in place. other then that great rod and reel. it cast well and easily handled the 22 inch small mouth mouth bass I caught last week. it fits in my backpack and i love the glow in the dark tip big help in catching catfish. most of the complaints i read are people who don't know how to take care of a rod. only thing that sucks is on amazon you dont have the select a size option for the pole, now you have to type in the size pole and it's dam annoying. ... show more

Pretty durable as I throw it around lava rocks where I live and the size 6.2ft pole great for throwing control. Look of is ok I use it for saltwater and the stiffness it flexes really good those 5-10in fishes put up a great fight but it is a small pole but it's good for targeting and control and beginner. The fishing line it comes with its pretty good as well. The hooks can be too big though so need to buy hooks and floaters. Also maintenance it's pretty simple to pull it apart. I'm just getting back into fishing so it's been about 17yrs since I was a kid. ... show more

I ordered this fishing rod back in April of this year, and I really wanted to use it for a while to test it's durability before writing a review. This sucker past the test with flying colors! So far I have used it over 10 times and I've caught multiple fish. I caught 6 spotted bass in lake Shasta back in May, and the rod held up so well. It will not collapse while in use like other similar rods. The most surprising aspect I found was the quality of the reel. The reel is so smooth, and absolutely tough as nails. For me the quality out of the box was poor. My son really liked the advertised "honey comb" print on both rod and reel. When opening of this package and inspecting reel and rod it was poor quality with the reel not even being the one that is advertised with full honey comb print the rod itself has the print poorly printed or whatever they use. As far as testing the rods functionality it seemed like it was ready to break on slight bend and the open and close function on the rod got stuck 3 times out of 5. There was no way to contact seller on my end so just returning ... show more

My tween daughter had been fishing a few times previously and had been taught all the basics by a family friend. So, when she got this fishing rod under the tree this year, she was super excited and knew just what to do. We've gone fishing once with it already (and planning to do a bunch more in the spring when it warms up) and the rod performed great! Good quality, lightweight, and very easy for her to handle given her level of expertise.
