  • So fun!
I'm writing this review because I believe people should know what they are buying and also to judge it with realistic expectations. To put this in perspective I own a $1200 delta-wing FPV RC aircraft that is capable of flying completely autonomous "missions" (including take-off and landing) 15 miles out and back... so the first thing to know is this is not the same as that, and should not be judged like that would be judged. This is NOT a "hobby-grade" aircraft, it is a toy. With that said this thing is FANTASTIC for the price you pay and for what it is. It is damn near indestructible thanks to it's rubberized EPP (expanded polypropylene) material, which is the perfect balance of light weight and durability. To the other reviews who are mad that your children broke it... it's an RC aircraft, it can go hundreds of feet in the air and then free-fall to the ground, or plow full speed into a tree... it's always POSSIBLE to break these things. In my experience however I think I would have a hard time breaking this even if I tried to do it. I've flown it in my house repeatedly, each time ending in a full speed crash into a wall or other obstacle, and not only is it functionally fine still but there isn't even any visible damage whatsoever. This does not have ANY control surfaces. There is no rudder, there is no elevator, and there are no ailerons. What does this mean? It means you have limited control. It turns left or right via differential throttle with the two propellers. It does not turn on a dime, in fact it's turning radius is quite large, and it won't bank like a real aircraft will when doing so (it has a slight bank, but you won't be able to roll this 90 degrees and then pull up to turn like you would in a real plane, or a higher-end RC plane). However, while you might think that would be squarely in the CON column it is precisely because of this that it is so easy to control for young children. I have no doubt that with mere minutes of practice even a 5 or 6 year old would enjoy this. My 10 year old loves it. It's extremely stable in the air thanks to an on-board accelerometer. It will automatically vary the thrust of the two propellers to keep itself stable and it does a great job at that. Even without any thrust at all it is well balanced and glides like a dream, making landings super easy. We often fly it with the landing gear removed, hand launch and land in grass, which works perfectly fine and saves some weight for slightly better performance and/or longer battery life. It comes with 2 batteries and ample extra propellers and landing gear, I was surprised and pleased at all the extra replacement parts that are included. TL;DR: It's a good toy, buy it for children, or if you're brand new to RC aircraft. For an adult you might want to look closer to the $500 range rather than the $50 range to hold your interest... but in that case be prepared for a learning curve. ... show more

  • This is the plane that I leave in my truck so I can fly anytime I have a few minutes.
Although great for beginners, this plane continues to keep my interest. You can have much more fun with a plane when it is inexpensive to replace, a "fly it like you stole it" mentality I suppose. Go ahead and try flying in a light wind, or around obstacles, it makes things more challenging and fun, and if you do lose it you are out less than $40. ... show more

  • Tuff plane
Awesome little plane. Even my wife can’t break it.

  • Tough toy! Easy to use. Lots of fun
My first rc plane! And i loved it! I bought extra batterys so i could fly it for hours at a time. These planes are tough. I probably crashed mine a few hundred times. But i simply used hot glue to fix anything i messed up. I had mine up to 300 feet high numerous times. The 2 channel models are simple to fly. Only thing i didnt like was if the battery was going to die theres really no warning and losing control of it can land you in some bad spots. If a audible alarm or something could notify you it would be awesome. I estimate that I flew my plane for 200 hours before it failed me (but it was my fault really) TIP: add some hot glue around the antenna wire were it pops out of the plastic housing. so it wont seperate from the circuit board. ... show more

  • Severely underpowered
Looks very cool but motors are far too small to keep this plane in the air. If you can get a decent launch then a soon as you turn it falls. I bought the F-22 jets for 45 bucks and they are FAR superior. Larger motors and super easy/ fun to fly. My 10 year old could figure it out in less than a half hour being his first time flying. Wish this one actually flew like the others for the same price because it does look very nice. Also the F-22 has lights underneath and a foam strip behind the propellers. Buy that one for a good experience. ... show more

  • 7 year old absolutely loves this plane
Initial order did not work, could not sync the plane with remote. Returned and got a new one. How nice it is to see the smile from my 7 year old playing with this, he loves it.

  • Very light
My 10 year son loves the plane and was able to navigate the remote control with practice. However , it is extremely light weight styrofoam and the slightest wind gust will carry it away. We learned to take the plane to wide open spaces to fly it after it got stuck in the tree in our yard.

  • Well Worth It
While the EPP foam is weak and the acceleration levels are limited, it's a great intro RC airplanes for both children and adults. If they added just 2 more levels to the acceleration joystick and beefed up the wings slightly on the jet, it would be near perfect for a 2 channel fixed wing RTF.
