Bought a slide out cabinet storage solution, and several of the holes wasn't threaded at the factory. Of course it was in a size I didn't have and all the local hardwares stores either didn't have it or it was only in kits that had tons of sizes I already had and cost nearly $100. Amazon to the rescue. For the price of one metric tap at local stores it came with 5 and the holder. Quality is surprisingly good and depite cutting threads into very hard stainless steel, the tap I needed looked brand new after tapping and chasing all holes.     • Gets the job done, but for light infrequent duty only
I liked that the product was compact, lightweight enough that I could handle it and a good value for the money-which was inexpensive. I had some put-together furniture with incorrectly tapped or untapped holes for the screws and needed something for intermittent work and light duty. It was surely better than paying double or triple at the hardware store. I just wish it had come with more instructions for those of us who aren't so tool savvy. I was looking for a more simple tool to tap 3mm threads. I found this one to meet the cost and versatility. The ratchet is OK but does seem to be over kill for the smaller threads. Works great for larger threads and make it easier. It's seem well made and for what I need it will fit the bill.

It was about what I expected for the price. Nothing exceptional. I was using it on a piece of Phenolic and the first few threads got smushed but it continued to function. The Chuck didn’t work too well and the bit shifted a few times during use.

Tapped holes for moped head stids

    • Kinda janky
The whole ratchet idea is ok, but it makes the tool a bit wobbly and not too accurate. Besides you usually want to back it out a few threads during the tapping and it makes it tougher. Also the taps that come with are not too great. After tapping like 3 holes in aluminum they were done.
