I would have preferred leather but I bought this settee in faux leather as my house will eventually burn down in wildfires in our area. Assembly is intuitive but it took two men thirty minutes. The back had a two-inch rip but as it is hidden I didn't go through the hassle of returning it. The couch is sturdy. The cushions are firm but surprisingly comfortable.
