The item is great, you can't go wrong with Pyrex. The fact that this item arrived apparently undamaged is a testament to the quality of it, because the item was very poorly packaged for shipping. It was put in a too-big box, with almost no packing material to stabilize it during shipping. The GLASS bowls were sliding around freely in the box - the paper that I suppose was in the box to protect the item was just floating loosely in the box and the bowls were sliding around, banging into each other during shipping. When I opened the box I was truly amazed the bowls weren't comply broken into pieces. A word to seller/shipper/Amazon, you must do a better job of packing glass items like this. You're very lucky the glass bowls survived shipping and I wasn't returning a bunch of broken glass to you. ... show more

I was raised with Pyrex and it still an awesome product i use every day to store pretty much anything you can think of to store in a glass container. I use them mostly to store pre prepped vegetables to use throughout the week in recipes. Cooking large batches of food for meal prep and making individual servings so i dont have to constantly cook for hrs every day cutting prepping cooking then cleaning, just pop them in the microwave and reheat. Pyrex is great in the freezer to but theres one drawback to the product, the lids. While they will last for years through constant washing and freezing they will eventually crack so its good they sell replacement lid bundles. The glass will last indefinitely im still using Pyrex that my Great Grandmother had. I had one issue with one dish so instead of contacting Amazon and sending the entire box back and waiting for a new replacement to come i decided to contact there customer service that is listed on Amazon. I was pleasantly grateful that Pyrex stands behind there product. (You can tell you have found a great company when they not only respond quickly to a customer but also stand behind there products) I took a picture of the piece that had a bubble in the glass. I sent them the product number, my purchase information along with my contact information and the pictures in an email. They promptly email me the next business day and within about a week i had a new replacement that came well packaged just like the original order. I bought these to replace my ancient clouded plasticware, mainly because i only have mismatched random pieces left. I chose this set because the low, rectangular shapes seemed to be an improvement over the round bowls with narrow bases that fought for dominance in the refrigerator. I prefer storing in glass, and this fits the bill. As long as I don’t cover it while it is hot. Still concerned about plasticizers in the plastic. The newer plasticizers are also being found to cause health problems.

These are great and durable but I have had leakage issues which I wish I would have been aware of the fact they are not leak proof.
