I bought two of these for a portable office presentation, one for a projector and another for a laptop. The first stand seems fine. I'll be using it for a presentation. The other stand arrived with a failed weld between the main upward tube and the cross tube. The big reason for the failure is tack welding in just two places. Trying to fit the two pieces together post mortem, it looks like the welder didn't even get a flush fit between them. The weld on the good stand was fitted properly but still just tack welded. The other reason the weld failed is that the parts were left to rattle around in the box. The tray is about the size, shape, and feel of a food court tray (although reinforced a bit better). I think it'll handle projectors and laptops fine by the way. But it's so big that it forces the box to be oversized. The rest of the parts are left to move around in thin bubble wrapping. The stand looks awesome. I think it's impressive and a good way to show off. It has some clever design stuff going. But Pyle has to really up the QC on the welds and go for some styrofoam packing. ... show more

Great stand great price! Beware tho I read reviews concerning poor construction and sloppy welds on the "T" fitting But I ordered the stand anyway because I figured that the folks at "Pyle" would have that issue all squared away And my stand came perfect!! <3 But the following month I ordered another and baam! I received a horribly unstable unusable poorly welded T fitting! I couldn't believe it! Dear Pyle This stand is very nice but really?? There apparently is no quality control wth? Thankfully Amazon replaced the faulty stand at no charge in a very timely fashion <3 So there ya go ... show more

First off let me say, all my other Pyle products have been great. But this one... not so much. This item arrived broken. They seem to have a problem getting a strong weld at the crossbar section. There are already lots of pictures on Amazon of this stand arriving with this damage; unfortunately mine arrived with the crossbar broken off due to the weak weld. The metal is very thin at this section so the welder doesn’t have a lot to work with. I’ve already started my return and went with another brand this time. I’m not saying not to buy this one, but I am saying before you do you should contact Pyle and see if they have corrected this weld problem with the crossbar before trusting it to hold your $2000 laptop. ... show more

Got this as a sit-stand desk. Enough room for my laptop and maybe a cup of coffee. Really love it! Pros: 1. Great price! @< $50 hard to find a legit desk 2. Sturdy. It's not going to tip over even fully extended. There is a little bit of wobble from the top desk but nothing from the legs. Likewise, it's not going to break without serious misuse. 3. Stores in the closet compactly. Will store exponentially smaller than any other design of desk. 4. Folds down and sets up very quickly. Quite frankly I was tempted by the Pneumatic and Crank adjustment desks. They are totally overkill and don't store nicely. First try I extended this from sit to stand with my laptop on it in seconds. 5. So light weight and agile i can move it to any room in my house quickly for a change of scenery. Cons: 1. The table top is a few inches smaller than I would like. It fits a mouse but barely. I can write notes on a large post-it but again would love a few extra inches. Candidly if the company offers a bigger top I'd buy it extra and swap out the one that comes with it. 2. The table top is a bit wobbly. The legs are not wobbly, so no risk of tipping over. I feel comfortable to put a coffee or drink on it. The annoying part is that when typing the wiggle causes my laptop screen to wiggles just enough to be distracting. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Really disappointed in this product. The part that holds the laptop is made of plastic, my laptop slides all over it, and it's pretty flimsy. Definitely note "heavy duty" as the description says. Parts were missing, and it's poorly designed.

I am very impressed with this stand. It was packaged very well and each component was bubble wrapped. It was very easy to set up and once up it easy very stable. The structure of this beast is absolutely sound. The poles are thick and it's not like a camera tripod. I use it to hold my Macbook Pro. I don't use a mouse with it but I do keep my cell phone, Two remote controls for tv/firestick on the top of the stand. It's easy to pickup and move around without feeling like its gonna fall over even with the laptop on it. I now only have to get a mat to stand on. ... show more

As others have mentioned the tripod base is actually pretty good, though a bit funky in design. Sturdy enough for our use but definitely would not work in a home with small children or large dogs. The legs should really splay out more for more stability. The top is something else...fairly thin plastic, easily deflected. I would imagine that if the stand fell over (hopefully without a laptop sitting on it) it would crack or chip. But it would be a fairly easy task to make your own top...just add it to the list of projects. The really BAD PART for me is that they obviously SENT ME A RETURNED ITEM and did not even bother to check it out before sending it on. The top was not in its plastic bag which was crushed in the bottom of the box. It was thoroughly scratched but not worth the bother to repack it and send it back to Amazon. The paper directions were balled up....I assume the previous recipient got mad about them and balled them up in frustration. There were also some scratches on the metal tripod tubes. All in all we wanted to have a standup work station in our home so as to vary our position when spending too much time on the computer as this will fit the bill for that.
