  • Versatile
Color: Black
I really like this drum machine. It has numerous instrumental "song" settings that allow me to play along with on my guitar and bass. Learning to utilize it as a drum kit will take some work but there's nothing better than having a rhythmic beat to aid in meter and consistency while jamming. The digital sound quality is very good at this price point. My wife plays piano so we can enjoy making music as a duo. In a word....it's fun! ... show more

  • Grandson loved it...
Color: Black
Got this for our grandson, who's getting into music now. His eyes lit up when he unwrapped this drum set. I looked over several different brands before buying this set, and listened to ones that had a video available. Most sounded tinny and cheap, but this Pyle set sounded great. Once delivered, it did not disappoint. The snare sounded like a snare, and the tom-toms were great too. You can tailor each sound to what you'd like it to be by setting up a user program. Set up is quite easy... all you need to do is plug the pedals and power cord in and you're ready to go. Would buy this one again. ... show more

  • A great product at a reasonable price.
Color: Black
The Pyle PTEDO3 appears to be a well made quality item. The pad rebound is very close to a real drum head and are sensitive enough for doubles, triples, flams, and accent notes. However, doubles and triples are a bit tricky, but with a little practice you'll get the hang of it. The foot pedals work well. I recommend placing the actual switch under the ball of your foot. The pedals do tend to slide around. The cymbal pads seem small to me,and the Hi Hat pad is in the wrong place, I suspect this is due to the size constraints of the kit. The whole kit mounts on a 14 inch snare drum stand and is very stable. The headphones allow me to practice without waking the whole house with the clack clack clack of my practice pad. Everything on this kit is fully adjustable; pad sensitivity and volume, drum and cymbal sounds, music tempo and metronome speed. Overall this is a quality kit that is reasonably priced, plays well and performs as advertised. It comes with a 3 year warranty from Pyle. If you're looking for a kit that doesn't take up much space, then this is it. Don't waste your money on those cheap "Roll Up" kits. I highly recommend it for beginners and more advanced players. Would buy this kit again. ... show more

  • It’s rad
Color: Black
I wanted a live drum sound for my recordings and this does the trick. I love it! I don’t even know how to play drums but it sounds great and it’s a lot of fun to jam on. The internal speakers are loud enough for me and I think it’s a really cool feature. The pedals might be a little touchy but I’m still getting used to it. I figure a little more practice and I’ll get it down better. I use the metronome all the time and I like the reverb feature. The pads are sensitive enough makes it feel realistic to me and the sound banks are just what I needed. For the price it’s an awesome introductory drum pad ... show more

  • Great kit, flimsy pedals
Color: Black
After playing a ‘real’ drum kit for several decades it was nice to find a small affordable alternative. This clamps perfectly onto a snare stand, and sounds good. The only problem is the how flimsy the pedals are. Searching for sturdier replacement pedals that will work with this. No luck so far.

  • Great Digital Drums For The Price
Color: Black
The Pyle PTED01 digital drums work great. It's easy to program the way you want by changing the pad voices and midi note pad assignments. The USB port allows you to connect to your computer for midi sequencing inside your digital audio workstation software. There are five memory locations to store your own drum kits for the internal kits and midi kits. The drum sounds have cross switching for soft and hard hits on the pads which adds a nice dynamic touch. You can play along with the 100 built in songs and mute the kit performances in each song with the "Drum Off" button, also you can practice and control the volume of the accompaniment tracks. Please watch my video on how to setup the PTED01 to perform the way you like, and hear how the drum kits sound to make it easier for you to decide if the PTED01 is right for you. • Great fun
Color: Black
While this kit won't replace a higher end electronic drum setup, it offers some unexpected features we love. It also has drawbacks. My 11-year-old grandson has the summer off from his drum lessons, but wanted to practice regularly and learn some new songs. This set seemed the best bet for that and we are pleased. It didn't take him long to figure out how to use the controls to set the configuration he wanted and he especially liked the provided loops with timer that allowed him to quickly learn and play along with these relatively simple routines. That gave him a boost in confidence to try more complex things. Out of the box, we used the AC adapter to plug the unit into an outlet because we didn't have the necessary 6 C batteries on hand. Once we buy those he'll enjoy having the set more portable. I worried that it would be too loud and possibly annoying to listen to so I had some headphones on hand for him to use (you need ones with a fairly long cord to reach from the back of the unit under or around it thus out of the way and to the user), but we never plugged those in because it is more pleasant to listen to than expected and of course there are volume controls. We downloaded a song he knew onto my iPhone and started that so he could play along. He set the volume so it matched the playing song and did pretty well. His major complaint was that occasionally a drum head doesn't sound as it should which would distract his rhythm. You do need to hit them 'just so' to get the response. I guess when you're used to a full size kit, it's a bit awkward to hit these small pads consistently and in the right place. There are 'dead spots' at the edges of the pads and sometimes when he hit two pads at once in a faster riff, one might not sound. That might have been a product of his inexperience, but it's something to think about if you expect to use this kit for more than practice and play. As a listener, I thought the cymbals and some other sounds should have more reverb than they did, but that may be something you can set. There are a lot of options for settings. The thing that ended up entertaining us all for a long time and was totally unexpected was that in addition to the many choices for drum set sounds, there are over a hundred other sounds to choose from. Everything from explosions, thunder, various animal sounds, laughter, footsteps, a creaking door, an eerie scream to car sounds and convincing war sounds. You can set each pad and pedal separately and save the configuration just like you can with the drum set sounds, so my young drummer ended up creating sets to match stories he made up and then punctuated them in the telling with various sounds. That was a lot of fun. Bottom line: It was easy and fast to set the unit up initially using one of several preconfigured drum set combinations assigned to the pads and pedals that are pretty standard, I guess, as he was able to instantly identify which pad represented which corresponding drum set piece and was satisfied with the sounds, but I was amazed at the options available to set things up to suit specific needs. He had no trouble figuring out how to do this without the instructions and spent hours at it, making up stories to punctuate with sound effects as well as playing along with provided loops and demos and real songs playing on other media. If he sticks with his lessons he'll need a higher end set than this, but for now this is fine and decent value for the price. ... show more
