I have been a drummer for many years. Always played with traditional acoustic drums. I hadn’t owned a set for a long time and didn’t want to disturb my family or neighbors so I thought I’d give electronic ones a try. These are of very good quality. The set up was easy and they sound amazing. I would recommend getting better quality headphones though. The mesh pads give a realistic feel and it’s great that the sound of each component can be tailored. The manual is mostly useless to program stuff. I relied on AI step by step instructions and it worked out very well. I am very impressed with this drum set. Everybody says it’s for kids and beginners but I disagree. They are versatile and even an experienced drummer would enjoy messing around on these. It’s for home use and for practice. Obviously, nobody would take $400 drums on tour with Metallica. Anyway, I highly recommend these. Well worth the price . ... show more

This is a nice drum set. The set was packaged well and easy to assemble. The number of sounds is really good. I was finding different sounds that I like, although they were parts of different sets. There's a user kit where you can choose your own sounds, which is what I will probably use. I don't expect this to fully replace a real drum set, but it is good for learning, as well as having a quieter set for practicing at home. I own a lot of Donner musical instruments and have been quite happy with the quality. The down side was actually getting it. I was first sent the EC-3130 model with only three cymbals when I had ordered the EC-3133 set with four cymbals. Amazon made it easy to return and exchange. The second set I received was the correct model. I would give the drum set four stars for ease of assembly and drum responsiveness. The only issue was dealing with customer service. After contacting them about receiving the wrong set and an initial email saying they would check into it, a whole week went by without another word from Donner. Also, the Melodics link still won't work using the Amazon order numbers, also without a response from Donner customer service. I'm dropping a star from the review for lack of customer service. In summary: Good product. Finally received what was expected. Poor response from customer service. Edit: After writing this review, Donner Customer Service reached out. I think we both agree Amazon shipped the wrong set the first time, which was resolved by the replacement. I have lots of Donner musical instruments (at least seven) and all are very good quality. This drum set is exactly what I expected and is a really good drum learning tool. As far as the drum set is concerned, I am a satisfied customer. I'm glad their customer service team reached out to try to make sure such issues don't happen to others in the future. Just be aware that if you have issues, it may take a week or two to get a resolution. Out of all the Donner products I own, this had been the first issue I've had, and it really wasn't Donner's fault. There's always room for improvement, especially in customer service. I kind of rolled the dice on this set.I bought it just to learn. It is sturdy and well designed. All of the many assorted kit sounds are great sounding and there are many helps built into the module to to help with practice: songs in a range of styles, built- in programmable metronome, coaching games , you can even record your sessions. I don’t often review leave a review on my purchases but I think this product really deserves your consideration. I hope Donner continues to innovate and offer great musical products with more than reasonable prices! ... show more

I really like this drum set, one of the cheapest out there. Can easily move around and secure it. I had it for a little over a year and it served me well. And that extra crash cymbal is a nice touch really. Although the hi-hat sometimes is not responsive per one note but not all the time so you won't hear it ... show more

I bought this thinking it would be a nice upgrade from my old Roland TD-11K kit that's around 15 years old now...I figured the technology may have improved, the overall concept may have been refined a bit, but no such luck. NOTE: I did not take any time to try fine-tuning each pad's sound settings, as whatever is included as factory defaults should be sufficient to gauge play quality. This kit is affordable and does what it's supposed to do - ie: it plays a drum sound when you hit a drum pad. Unfortunately it feels more like playing a soundboard than a drum kit - by that I mean despite the drums all having mesh heads, when you hit a pad it plays the same sound, regardless of how firmly you hit the pad (see note above). One area this is most noticeable is with the hi-hat, it was either open or closed, no in-between...but again there may be settings I didn't fiddle with. Regardless, I would expect an electric kit to perform as intended out of the box, without the need for extra configuration. For the price, this kit would make a great gift for someone who's just starting out on drums, or wants a drum set-shaped soundboard. It does have a wide selection of sounds to choose from, but if you are an experienced drummer and want a good-sounding electric kit in a technical sense, I'd recommend just saving up a bit more and springing for a larger brand like Roland, as the product quality is proven and the company has a reputation to uphold.
