  • Love it!!
The only issue I had with this kit is the kick drum pedal. It's crap! Use your own. Other than that, it's pretty kick ass! Sounds, great and it was very easy to assemble. So much fun to play! Can't go wrong for the money.

  • It has all you need
I purchased this kit cuz I was ready to upgrade from my trashy kit to a more reliable instrument. Well, I think I chose the right one. This kit has everything you need. I was able to custom program a kit using various cymbal/drum sounds on kit 31. As a drummer progressing into metal, the ability to program a crash/ride into a china is big plus on this kit. The sound on this setup is clear and just sounds amazing. The drums and cymbals are very responsive and trigger well. I also purchased a double kick pedal and it works great on this kit. Definitely double kick friendly. So many other features I haven't tried yet but look forward to doing so. I've spent hours on this kit since I've received it and I absolutely love it and highly recommend, whether you're a beginner or professional. The only complaint I have is the headphones that are included with the kit sound horrible. Not clear sound at all. That aside, this kit is overall amazing and I recommend it, especially for the price. ... show more

  • Solid drum set - perfect for student drummer
This drum set was a Christmas gift for our 7 y.o. son. He had been taking lessons for about 6 months using pans and pot lids to practice. We decided to save and splurge on this set when he started practicing on his own and asked us repeatedly to play his favorite song to drum with. The set up took my husband about 3 hours. Longer than expected but it was also late on Xmas Eve and we were both exhausted. It's pretty sturdy yet compact. You are able to expand and contract the legs of the drum set to fit your space. All drums and cymbals can be adjusted according to height. My kid also loves playing around with the various sounds. He spent about 2 hours cycling through them to find his favorites. We have yet to link to a phone or MP3 to play along with but will be doing that soon. A few areas of improvement are (1) headphones broke within first 4 days of use - one side had no sound so removed one star. (2) The bass drum needs a rubber pad or rug underneath it or it will scratch up your floors. (3) There seems like a missed opportunity to add a small music stand to the back bar. Right now we have a painting easel holding up music behind the set. Overall great set and great price with just some minor issues. My kid can also practice drums without disturbing everyone in the house. ... show more

  • Impressive Little Kit
I've wanted to play drums for 15+ years, but didn't have money or space for a kit. I play 6 instruments so I'm not new to music, but I'm a complete beginner at drums, so keep that in mind. This kit is the cheapest option that you won't outgrow too quickly. It sounds different depending on how hard you hit, and you can hit a cymbal and grab the edge to choke it, or stop the sound early. I'm very impressed and I'm glad I got the 4 cymbal version. The headphones are hot garbage, only one of the ears even works in mine, but you can get decent headphones that plug in and cover your ears without spending too much extra. Try for noise canceling headphones so you don't hear the sound of hitting the pads. I have a couple extras so one became my official drum headphones. If you want to play out loud, you'll need an amp to connect it to. Cheap way around that- check any online marketplace. There are always people that buy electric guitar kits and give up, usually those amps will be your cheapest option. It went together really easily, and I was set up and playing within 90 mins of getting the box! I love it so far. ... show more

  • Great overall, but might have shipped defective part
Sound and feel of the drums are great overall, but I think the Hi Hat pad is defective. Foot pedal sensitivity feels a bit off as well, but the pad itself isn't registering nearly as well as the other parts. If I switch one cymbal pad to a block or cowbell sound it works just fine playing triplets or fast fills, but the Hi Hat pad skips hits every time. I want to have the pad replaced with a new one to leave an official review, I hope it's just a simple replacement that is needed. For something as sensitive as the hi hat should be, and given there's no issues with other cymbals, it must be a defective part. ... show more

  • Love it.
Purchased the drum set to practice with a band I played with in my 20s in preparation for a reunion show. we needed to practice in different locations throughout the north east due to our schedules. Carrying my vintage Ludwig drum set with a 24 inch bass drum on it around all these places seem like a chore for somebody in there that was still in their 20s.😂 I had initially looked at a Roland TD 17 kit which retails for almost $1900. Knowing that I wasn’t about to start some electro band, I looked into cheaper alternatives. This was the best one I could find by far based on price what came in the box and the outbox capabilities as far as a midi-control unit. A plus plus on all fronts. Sound quality is good and if you link it to some simple sound editing software you can use real life studio recorded sets. That is pretty awesome for 400 bucks. That said, the 8 inch drums are a little tough for someone who likens their playing style to that of Animal from the muppets. Took a little while to get everything in the right spot but after some easy adjustments, everything is in its right place and I can rock out with the best of them. It is super easy to plug in your phone so you can play along to songs if you’re practicing or to plug it right into a PA, sound board, or bass amp and adjust the volume or anything else really right from the control unit. I know that sounds like a lot but two weeks ago. I didn’t know anything about this stuff so even the tweenager could figure the stuff out, most likely more effectively.🙂 ... show more
