I've wanted to play drums for 15+ years, but didn't have money or space for a kit. I play 6 instruments so I'm not new to music, but I'm a complete beginner at drums, so keep that in mind. This kit is the cheapest option that you won't outgrow too quickly. It sounds different depending on how hard you hit, and you can hit a cymbal and grab the edge to choke it, or stop the sound early. I'm very impressed and I'm glad I got the 4 cymbal version. The headphones are hot garbage, only one of the ears even works in mine, but you can get decent headphones that plug in and cover your ears without spending too much extra. Try for noise canceling headphones so you don't hear the sound of hitting the pads. I have a couple extras so one became my official drum headphones. If you want to play out loud, you'll need an amp to connect it to. Cheap way around that- check any online marketplace. There are always people that buy electric guitar kits and give up, usually those amps will be your cheapest option. It went together really easily, and I was set up and playing within 90 mins of getting the box! I love it so far.

This is a very good drum set and it's very easy to assemble. Not huge so it's good for small Spaces

I'll preface this review: I'm a new drummer, but not a new musician. Over the years, I've played many value instruments meant for beginners, and many nicer, higher-quality instruments far surpass beginner equipment. The Donner DED-200X is no exception. This has been an excellent way to see if learning the drums is something I want to do, and it has allowed me to learn the basics. The drums feel good, and there is a wide range of pretty decent-sounding drum kits available. If you set it up correctly, the frame is sturdy, and everything stays in place nicely. There are two areas where they fall short. The first one is something that I think is more of an e-drum issue, or at least an intro-level e-drum issue, and that's flams and faster rudiments don't register like they would on a real drum head. The other area is if you add a double-bass pedal, it definitely doesn't register off-center as well as it does with a single pedal in the middle. Again, overall, it's a great set to learn on, but there will be a point where your skill level starts to outgrow the set.

Great kit for the money! Ypu get what you pay for, but thats not always bad. This isnt a pro kit, but if you're just needing something toblearn on with minimal noise, this will do the trick. This is a great beginner kit!.

Update 03/19/24 I am updating based on the usage for the past 3 months. I bought this as a Xmas gift for my husband. The first kit was used and had missing parts. It was an embarrassing disappointment. However, this is where the review changes. Due to my last review Donner reached out to us not only did they sent us a new kit immediately, they also refunded part of what I paid in hopes that they changed my mind. I was impressed with their service but I wasn't going to change my review until my husband had used the kit for a while to give it a proper review. In the mean time Donner reached out again and sent us an Amp. I was already impressed and happy with their service. The Amp wasn't necessary but appreciated. As far as customer service, we can say that Donner goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience. So 5 stars As far as the set goes, my husband is 6 ft tall and strong so he kinda looks like a giant, the set is tiny. He looks like a praying mantis drumming but he likes the set and he is satisfied with it. I love to hear him drumming . I'm not gonna say that this is the best drumming kit, I'm sure that there are better ones but this is a good starting kit and we are appreciative to Donner for their excellent support. **** It was Christmas present for my husband and it was used and its missing several component including cables, high hat pedal, stand for stool and there are stains on the drum heads, missing wires. It seems and looks used and returned. How embarrassing and disappointing. I feel horrible.
