  • Good for the price
Pattern Name: Radio
I have my deck installed inside my camper, so I can't rate the water resistance. As far as a working deck goes, it is a great unit for the price. I obviously didn't expect to have a Bose sound quality for the price. It is only a 200 watt receiver and that's all you get. It does power little speakers just fine. If you're looking or something loud out of the box, this might not be for you. I use mine for listening to music inside, which is good. Also, I mainly bought this for the Bluetooth capablilty that I can use for streaming movies and documentaries. For my streaming it works awesome. I plan to add a Pyle amp with bigger speakers for outdoor music, and will rate that this summer, once I put that together. Yes, I reccomend. ... show more

  • Great for a cheap stereo
Pattern Name: Radio
First of all, this is NOT the audiophile equipment that Pyle made in years gone past. The name seems to have been purchased by a Chinese company. Having said this, I just needed inexpensive water-resistant audio for my boat. This is relatively feature-rich and very inexpensive. It is far better that the AM/FM/cassette that I replaced. I wanted Bluetooth capability to connect to my phone, and this provides that plus more. Pairing was very easy, and sound is acceptable. There is no way this is pushing out an actual 300 watts. I would guess that it's 50 watts RMS realistically, but it performs acceptably paired to the Pyle PLMR692 speakers that I purchased to go with it. As many others have said, if you are looking for high quality sound, this will not be what you want to purchase. If, however, you just want to hear some music without spending a boatload of dough, this should suit you well. I like it, for what it is. ... show more

  • Great deal for the money! Sounds great!
Pattern Name: Radio
Bought this because the price was right and my current radio/CD player is about 10 years old now and just doesn't have the punch that I have heard on other systems. I have been running it through a separate amp just so I could hear it while underway. Yes, it looks and feels cheap but really don't care about that. It sits behind a water cover and it is on a boat. And yes the band spectrum lights that on any other system show the sound spectrum, this one just does random patterns. But again, who cares, are you really just sitting on your boat watching those lights??? It is light weight because there is not CD mechanism in it which makes up for most of the weight. I have not used CDs on the boat (or anything else for that matter) and usually plugged in phone to aux (my Sony did not have bluetooth). For what I paid the sound is GREAT! Do not need to run through the amp anymore and can hear it while at full throttle. ... show more

  • Does Not Work - Tried 2 of them
Pattern Name: Radio
I bought this stereo on amazon to put into a pontoon boat. I installed the unit following the instructions and wiring diagram correctly. Tried to turn on the unit and nothing happened. I read the troubleshooting section of the instructions - troubleshooting step said to press the reset button to reset the internal computer. I pressed the reset button and tried turning the unit back on again. It turned on for about 1 second then back off. It only turns on at all after pressing the reset button, and when it does, it shuts back off after about 1 second. Since the boat I am installing into is 20years old, I wanted to make sure it wasn't a problem with the boat's wiring, so I took the unit into my garage and connected the power and ground pins to a fresh car battery on my workbench. Same issue, it would turn on for about a second after pressing the reset button, then turn off again. I called customer support at PyleUSA and they could only tell me to check the fuse. Obviously the fuse was good, it does turn on for a brief moment after-all. I returned the unit for a replacement. The new one came in and did the same thing. I am now returning the second one and will not be buying anything from Pyle ever again. ... show more

  • Good product for the price
Pattern Name: Radio
For the most part this seemed very self explanatory as to getting the deck hooked up. I've done this before so it came somewhat natural to me without following directions much. My boat had already had a current deck with a wiring harness. Luckily it had all the cables still labeled so I snipped the harness from the old deck end, and spliced it into the new harness that came with the stereo deck. There was one new block that had a blue, black, yellow, and red wire. The black was ground, red said battery power, and yellow said ACC. I believe the blue was antenna. My harness didn't have the yellow wired into it's connector block. I had to contact support as I tried direct power to the red and then yellow individually, which didn't work. Support said to try and splice the red and yellow together. Since the boats main connection block did have a pin in the yellow spot, I spliced a new wire/female pin into the wiring harness and wired the yellow to the new harness for the stereo. After doing so it worked. It appears that the yellow and red need to both have power supplied to them so that the deck works. You may want to consider a new wiring harness for your specific boat/vehicle to splice into the harness that Pyle supplies. Trying wire in new pins into a block takes extra tools and hardware that many people probably don't have on hand. Your harness may already have this in place. Hope this helps anyone else that may have troubles with powering up your new stereo. ... show more

  • Great features but not very loud
Pattern Name: Radio
I had an old Pyle radio in my boat from probably the 90’s. It was very solid, but a channel went out. I’m only using one pair of speakers, and the other radio (rated the same as this one) could be turned up to distort the speakers. I didn’t run it this way. The new radio can be cranked up all the way, and it doesn’t get that loud. I’d say it appears to be more like a 20 watt per channel radio. In all fairness, I got one that was returned but like new, so I’m not sure if there is a problem caused by the original owner. ... show more
