    • Pretty Good Beginner Guitar That’s Fun For Any Skill Level

So I really like this guitar! It has a hard plastic (or something similar) body that feels very solid and feels like it will last a long time as well. It has a really deep resonate tone as well. I chose the 30” version because I also have a KALA Baritone Ukelele and a Yamaha Guitalele. This one is pretty close in size to the KALA Baritone Uke, and quite a bit bigger than the Guitalele. But it sounds very much as loud and deep as a standard sized guitar. Its nylon strings are comfortable on the fingers and the neck is straight and overall is pretty well setup. My main concern with it is that the action is just too high to easily play. I can’t imagine how a novice would enjoy playing this. It takes a different amount of pressure to fret a note at the first fret than it does at the 12th. Or the 5th even. Or the 2nd actually. My plan is to lower the action at the bridge. The string height at the first fret/nut is actually reall good. I have some (a little) experience working on banjos and the “repair” I have to perform is fairly minimal. Even so, I have the proper tools to modify the bridge and to accurately measure the action as I go along. So I feel very comfortable making this change. Now, the question for you is: Was the 30” version I got the same as all other 30” in terms of string height? My guess is probably so. Is the larger size versions of this guitar the same as a the smallest size in that the action will be too high? I’m going to hazard a guess and say no. As the size goes up, especially, I would think the action would be much better. That actually occurred to me when I chose the 30” but I wanted one to practice with and tool around on that was about the same size as my other small instruments. It makes it easier to switch from one to the other when the sizes are more consistent. And besides, I am learning to play mandolin as well and the strings of a mandolin are very close together and very close to the fret board,, so I wanted to keep the guitar action closer to that so practice on one would transfer to practice on the mandolin. Overall I like this guitar very much! It is fun to play, even with the high string action. When I lower the strings, it will be about as perfect (for me) as a small inexpensive guitar can be. Oh, meant to add also that this is light years in quality beyond those crappy little toy guitars you find at Walmart. ... show more

The guitar I know isn’t professional but it shouldn’t be splitting the way that it is , and the strings are so far away from the frets . It’s very poorly designed and made , no effort was put into making this . And it suck’s because my son loves it but I’ll have to get an outer one already, it’s going to completely break any day now on its own . This isn’t a durable guitar , it’s a shame I had such high hopes and expectations. ... show more

I bought this for my daughter. In terms of materials you get what you paid for in a beginner's guitar. Durable, smooth, and look beautifully made. It's great for kids ages 5 and up. The sound is clear and crisp. As a beginner (to guitar) and listening to my daughter playing I can't find anything wrong with the sound. Came with accessories for tuning. Which I like since I was trying to figure out different sounds for her to play around with. It's too small for an adult hand.     • Low quality guitar that does not hold tune

Upon receiving the guitar I tuned it and tried to play a few notes. For some reason, the notes sounded off. I bust out the tuning app and check and it turns out the strings are already out of tune. Ok let's try again. Tuned every string and double checked, everything sounds fine. I go back to try to play a few chords and again a few string sound off, in particular the E string and G string. I tune for a second time and lo and behold, after playing a few chords later, sounds start getting strange again. I would not recommend this product to anyone. ... show more

The construction of this instrument is done very well and was the perfect size for our 8 year old. I am totally satisfied with this guitar. If I had a single criticism it would be the strings that come on it. You will need to replace if you have a serious student these continue to stretch as you attempt to keep tuned. I would rather have the quality of construction there as opposed to great strings & poor construction. ... show more
