  • Excellent & Easy to Use
Style: V3.0
I bought this for my wife to do 20oz tumblers since her press didn't do tumblers this size. For not having any expirence making them a quick tutorial on-line and we knocked out several impressive tumblers to be given as gifts. There was a lot of different "suggestions" on temp/time so we went with 50secs (x2) then 25secs (x2) to make sure the heat was evenly distributed. That worked out fantastic! We are extremely satisfied with this product and are looking forward to many more uses! ... show more

  • Heat tumbler machine.
Style: V3.0
I bought this machine, and now that I have it, I find it very easy and practical to use. It heats up very well, the temperature is easy to adjust, it is affordable, and it produced beautiful results on my sublimation tumblers. Plus, it is easy to store just about anywhere—it doesn't take up much space. ... show more

  • Great press for 20oz tumbler sublimation blanks
Style: V3.0
This tumbler has been in use over 7 months, with 3 months off during a sub-zero Montana winter in an unheated room. It has continued to work very well for sublimating 20oz skinny tumblers. I have found that I have the best success doubling the recommended time. I set it at 356F for 90 seconds, rotate the tumbler and then heat for another 90 seconds. I like that it beeps to announce the time is up. I often leave the tumblers in for another few seconds, and they are fine. In fact, when I have occasionally needed a "touchup" over a mistake, or just want to add further embellishment, another 60 seconds or so heating has been fine as well. I debated between this and a PYD sublimation oven, but ultimately went with this to fit my crafting room setup better. I use PYD blank tumblers, and they are the best I've found, so I trusted the brand when shopping for a press. SAFETY: I keep a door to the outside open while using, and even typically go outdoors while it's working. The smell isn't terribly unpleasant, but the sublimation gases are toxic and ventilation is absolutely essential for safety. WISHLIST: The press stays hot for a while after it's turned off, but after it cools I wish I had a protective cover to throw over it. ... show more

  • Great Press
Style: V3.0
So far, this mug press is working great. Sizing allows me to do mugs, glass cans, and tumblers. There is a bit of a learning curve on figuring out which setting is for temp and which is for time, but once you master that, the machine works great.

  • UPDATE 2: Doesn't Work, stinks to high heaven even when not in use
Style: V3.0
Update 05/13/24: smell still there. Took away another star as it has now stopped working. This is after only doing approximately 120 tumblers/mugs in approximately a year. Do better PYD! Your tumblers are great, but your press is terrible. Update 01/07/24: smell never goes away. Never. However, I took away some stars due to the fact the power button no longer functions (quit in December 23) unless you hold it or duct tape it in place. I bought this in December 2022, however didn't use it until late spring/early summer of 2023. Have done approximately 50 tumblers/mugs so no way should it have broken. I can still use it, but I'm very disappointed at the quality. If it totally stops working, I will be looking at a different brand. Not sure what the smell is, and hope it goes away soon, but it stinks, literally. Not just when it's on and heating, but even cold and off. I'm thinking, it's possibly the material that cushions the tumbler when you put it in the press. However, it does a phenomenal job so far on sublimating tumblers. I'll try to remember to see if I can update the post after a bit has passed to give an update on the smell, or if any issue crop up. ... show more

The PYD Life heat press is a robust tool specifically designed to handle tall, slim tumblers (20 to 30 oz), as well as standard mugs. It's an excellent option for both beginners and small businesses due to its versatility and ease of use.

  • Wicked nasty smell is normal, don't trust the press time/temp on vendor boxes
Style: V3.0
UPDATE: After writing my review, I felt like something just wasn't right so I did more research into pressing mugs in this press. It does, however, still smell pretty awful. That's apparently due to the material the heater is made from. The smell did seem to lessen over time, but it is still fragrant after doing about 30 mugs. It turns out that the instructions with my mug blanks and the limited info in the PYD Life booklet were WAY off in terms of time and temp for ceramics. I was most successful with 385F/300 seconds (5 minutes) and you MUST press 2 mugs at once with the open ends facing each other for even pressure and heat distribution. Even if you only have one to press, stick a second blank in for best results. I found that I had to tape the top edge of the mugs to keep the design from bleeding over the edge into the inside of the mugs. I did not pull the tape very tight, just enough to protect the edge. I did not tape the bottoms. The edges of my mugs were not getting enough heat to press fully, so I shortened my design by .25" to move each edge .125" further back from the handle. This is something you will have to test with your blanks since the diameter of your mug is what will affect this result. --- I wanted to love this press because I usually equate quality with PYDLife, but this was a fail. I have never smelled something so horrible when the product is heating up. It filled my house with a stench my son described as "burnt fish" (not the usual sublimation smell). Half the press is about 30-40 colder on one end, I wrecked 4 mugs before going back to my tried and true Cricut. The directions are very brief and not terribly helpful. ... show more

  • Great press for the money!!!
Style: V3.0
Bought this for the ole lady since she’s been wanting a mug press, so far it’s pretty decent for a relatively cheap priced press. She loves it and have had no issues with it thus far. Only thing I can think of that’s a little meh is it seems like there isn’t quite enough adjustment for 15oz tapered tumblers and sometimes wrinkles the print when closing. Overall a great press for the money. ... show more
