This is IMHO the best metal platform style bed frame on the market. It was easy to put together, feels incredibly solid, and looks good. No additional tools are needed as the included ratchet tool works just fine. I don't own a Purple Mattress, but I was in need of a better bed frame for my newly purchased Therapedic Theraluxe HD Cascade Mattress. The frame doesn't support headboards, so be mindful of that. The height is just right for me at 6'1'' and still provides for some storage space underneath. I've experienced no squeaking or other noise. I am incredibly happy with it so far. My non-Purple new Seally mattress slipped off the frame continuously and I could feel through my mattress in between the slats as they are mounted sideways. Be aware the box weighs 60 lbs and is 75 inches long so very awkward to carry. I needed to return it which Amazon required the purchaser to cover shipping charges which were outrageous.
