This was not difficult to put together but...I had to get help!! It was ALOT!! My son came over to unpack it and put it together. There were also some damages to a couple corners and two hinges that had stripped screws; but were not visible on the finished product. ALSO...the front cabinet doors were NOT the style I ordered. But I kept them anyway, since everything else was already unpacked. Once everything was put together, I was pleased with the end result. This is a great buy! Instructions are easy as long as you are familiar with building boxed furniture. I was concerned with all the moving parts that precision may be an issue, but once all put together it was seemless. Packaged really well and no damage. It’s solid wood and good quality. It takes a long time to assemble, FYI. That’s not a complaint, just don’t expect to put it together the evening before company arrives because it takes several hours. The mattress is very firm, even with a topper. Our guest didn’t like that, though she was the first to use it. I expect it to soften up so would rather it too firm at first than too soft. Very happy with this cabinet. It is shipped in 3 boxes that don't arrive together. We didn't rush to put it together so my estimation is 2 to 3 hours for 2 people after all the pieces are laid out, but the instructions were easy to follow. The cabinet is beautiful, sturdy, good size drawer, just what I was looking for. It holds a 6 inch mattress with ease. I was worried my 6-inch hybrid mattress wouldn't fit, but it slides in perfectly without squeezing. The support slats keep it from sagging, even with regular use. No need to buy a special mattress—huge plus.
