I LOVE this light blanket! We are going through some changes in our house--my older (76) husband fell and shattered his hip in April 2016 and because he also has Parkinson's came home from rehab still in a wheelchair. We've installed a hospital bed in our bedroom, rehab continues, and he is beginning to take steps! But to the blanket--while ordering a ton of various products, equipment, supplies from Amazon I came across this down blanket. What sold me was the fact that the down was sealed in the individual squares, it looked lighter than the usual down comforter we put on the bed for cooler months (we live in Georgia), and they said it was machine washable!!! I swear we are clean people who shower daily, but my husband's side of the comforter would develop this grimy looking yellowish tinge--sending me to the commercial laundry mat with it every year. The blanket arrived quickly and I didn't use it immediately because it was July, but one night I just felt "cold" in our queen sized bed. My husband was sawing logs in his hospital bed not ten feet away, but I had not realized how you can miss the heat of another body beside you in bed--even if you are not snuggly sleepers. I Took this blanket out of its neat little package (it really folds up nice and flat--not much thicker than a single flat sheet) and put it on top of the bedspread. Ahhhhhh. I was amazed at how that light layer brought just the right amount of warmth and weight to my bed linens. I could feel my body relaxing. I slept warmly and comfortably. So far I've folded it up and put it away each morning after I've used it, but I'll probably install it as an under spread layer in the Fall. I really like that it provides warmth and comfort that I associate with a down comforter without the BULK. I haven't washed mine yet--I haven't used it enough. I'm trusting the other reviewers who say that it launders well. I can tell that it will fit into my home machine nicely. It is not as bulky as the thermal blankets we are using on my husband's hospital bed. I plan to buy other colors and put them on all of the beds upstairs for when the children come home. The price is pretty reasonable. I bought the gray for our room and the color is a nice silver/light gray. I'm pleased.

As I put this in my cart, the algo mentioned that it often returned. What a shame! It’s a lightweight down blanket. Not a comforter, but a breathable natural blanket. And it’s perfect. I had one when I lived in Texas, it breathed better than a cotton blanket under A/C. I have one now, in Oregon, and it is again perfect for cool summer nights. (It’s photographed on a full-sized futon.)

I just received this and it fits just like I hoped it would, it seems to be like a old one I was wanting to replace. I will let you know more after I have washed it. This is it right out of the package which was packed very well. It is light weight and just as warm as a heavier blanket. Just wanted to let you know, I hadn't noticed all the tags sewn into the edge of a corner on the outside. I probably would not have kept it for that reason alone; I tried to remove them and not sure if I knicked it or it wasn't sewn properly and tried to fix the opening because of it fraying. Didn't come out the best, and now still have black edging around the end. Not happy with any tags sewn in and should not have been on this. Still like the blanket, just not how it looks with the outcome.

Always had this type of blanket growing up. The satin seam at the top is what I remember the most. Lots out there do not have the satin binding at the top. Cost more than I like but it is perfect. Don't pull on the satin binding when making the bed. The down is not as full as it used to be but it really is very warm. I would take to a laundry mat and use a extra large washer and dryer and will remain fluffy. It is durable and good fabric. Will last a long time. I still have other colors from the past.

Look no further. We had an all seasons down from Bloomingdales for a few years. It weighed a ton and was very heavy. We researched extensively before this purchase. This is a light weight duvet insert that exceeded our expectations. It washes and dries very well. It is not bulky but provides the warmth that we need. It slides in and out of our duvet cover in minutes. It fluffs up very well.

Update 01/21/2017 We've slept with this blanket for long enough now. The comfort level is great, but I've noticed feathers/down starting to fly. It was pretty good at first, but now every time I make the bed in the morning and shake the blanket I see the air fill up with feathers. Luckily, we use it in a cover, so that add extra protection. Even the dust bunnies under the bed are 70% feather. Kind of disappointing... I hope it will stop at some point, or at least not get worse and render the blanket unusable. I've had this blanket for over a week , slept with it nightly, so now I can write objectively about it. First off, great packaging. It came in a clear zipped plastic pouch. When folded, it takes up very little space, which is a great plus for a small NYC apartment. After taking it out of the package, I stretched it on the bed. The fabric feels thick to the touch so I don't think we'll have any issues with flying down/feathers. I must say that it fluffs up quite nicely is left to rest for a while after unpacking. We use it inside a duvet cover and surprisingly enough, to more you sleep with it, the fluffier it gets. Now it's loftier and softer than the first night we used. It makes that wonderful rustling noise, just like a comforter does, but it's considerably lighter and doesn't suffocate. I think it's the ideal cover for a bedroom with a temperature in the 70s F. I've already changed the duvet cover and didn't notice and loose down inside it. I was somehow apprehensive before buying, since many other customers complained about the shedding. I got the blue color, I noticed most complaints came from the white and grey ones. Maybe they're made differently... I wouldn't know. In terms of size, the 90"x90" is actually an 86"x86". The satin trim is 2" on each side. And since that's just added for decorative purposes, it's not filled, which makes is very malleable. If you have a smaller duvet cover (like we do) it'll fit in perfectly, with the satin edge folding up almost on its own. All in all, I'm very please with this purchase. The price was decent, and so far, the quality seems to match.

I can’t sleep without a cotton down comforter, but I’ve recently become a hot, sweat-prone sleeper and the down comforter that used to feel so luxurious was suddenly killing my sleep. For hot sleepers, this is the perfect balance between the coziness of a down comforter without the heat. Soft cotton that breathes well and doesn’t stain easily. I throw it in the wash with my bamboo sheets with regular detergent every single week, and after a year it shows no signs of wear. The dryer lint screen never has lost feathers either. My daughter was also sweltering under her comforter, and I immediately bought a second one for her. She’s also very happy with it.
