  • This Mattress is Truly Amazing!
Size: Queen
So wow! I had to make sure I wrote a review for this thing. Initially, I immediately was extremely impressed by this thing, but wanted to give it a month or so to give it a much more detailed and insightful review. For some background, I've consistently struggled with sleep problems throughout my entire life. Prior to getting this mattress, I had an extremely cheap innerspring mattress I had been using for the last 2.5 years that I hated from the day I got it, and probably was past it's service life after 6 months. By the time I replaced it when I bought this, it was completely caved-in in the middle and had a curve running the entire length of the mattress towards the middle. Now, you would think, somebody dealing with sleep problems, that the mattress would be the first thing to address, but needless to say I didn't and I don't feel smart for putting up with that for well over 2 years. I really don't like memory foam mattresses for a variety of reasons, so I was intrigued when I found out about this as an option. When I got this mattress in, I immediately had a great night of sleep. I have lower back pain, and my back felt great and I woke up with energy! While I wasn't completely satisfied, I had also ordered this company's 2" soft topper on the way, and it was still exponentially better than the mattress I had been using and I really liked it. My desire to slam coffee in the morning has gone away in the mornings. I just wake up instead of having to fight through sluggishness and fog. When the topper came in, it became the level of coziness I was looking for. The medium felt supportive and I slept well on it of course, but that 2" topper gave me that comfortability I was looking for. Honestly, in retrospect I think a 1" topper might have been better, but I like it enough to not be remotely concerned with changing anything. I used a samsung watch to track my sleep. Looking over the data, my deep sleep had gone up by an average of 30 minutes each night. My overall sleep quality has improved by 15%-20% on average. I'm sure this is what has contributed to actually feeling well-rested in the mornings and having energy. I also don't feel that lingering cloud of tiredness throughout the day. It's really cool looking back and seeing hard data before and after I bought this thing reflecting my sleep quality instead of just saying "well I feel better." This company has some really amazing customer service. It really surprised me. It looked like the compression machine had tore up some of the original mattress cover, and they were very prompt to address it and give me a new one. They had given me the option of a full replacement, I declined but they had still offered me some concessions. If you call them, they will actually answer the phone if you have any questions. There are some things to be aware of. I struggle to call it a negative, because it's really just the nature of this material, but it is HEAVY. I was able to carry this up the stairs into my apartment and set everything up by myself, let it unroll and all and that was pretty easy. Moving it around to do things, like replacing the mattress cover, was a kind of pain with it being completely expanded. Not impossible, but definitely something to be aware of. Another thing to be aware of, this does need to be on a solid surface. You can take a piece of plywood and put it on top of your box spring or if you have a slated frame. There are also other solutions that are sold, bunkie boards I think they are called. I am currently using plywood, but am considering getting a bamboo bunkie board to ensure adequate airflow under the mattress whenever I change my whole bed-frame situation. The plywood did make a difference in how supportive it feels, which was already great without it. It's also necessary to have it on a flat surface for the longevity of the mattress as it was explained to me and what information on the internet indicates. Perhaps most people are unlikely to see such a drastic improvement in their sleep that I've seen and aren't coming from a really really terrible mattress situation like I was, but this thing is really comfortable that I'm sure most people will be very happy with it. I really dislike memory foam, and this really addresses any of my issues with memory foam. It's responsive and is much cooler. It also addresses my issues with a spring mattress with the motion transfer, and in the long term I'm sure it also addresses the longevity issues. Overall, I highly recommend this to anybody. I've been so happy with this thing since I've gotten it. The company has been great interacting with. While the weight is definitely something to be aware of, the massive improvement to, well frankly, my overall quality of life as a result of the improved sleep quality and decreased pain, makes it really such a minor issue. I wish I would have considered this purchase much much sooner! ... show more

  • Amazing Value (queen size mattress and the medium-soft topper by same company)
Size: Queen
General Reaction: I've only owned 2 mattresses before this one: a "Dormia" cal-king memory foam that I purchased ~$800 back in late 2000's and an "the organic mattress store" medium firm organic natural latex queen mattress ($3148!!!) in 2015. Compared to both of those mattresses, at < $800 this mattress is an unbelievable value! Firmness: I weigh over 200 lbs and if I press down on one knee it almost bottoms out on this mattress. I would describe this as "soft", but this is the worst part to buying mattresses online as it is highly subjective. Also, maybe this is just me, but if you've previously owned "firm" memory foam mattresses, I would recommend ordering less firm natural latex. To me, natural latex is less forgiving than memory foam and may effectively feel firmer since it doesn't conform to your shape as much. Also, I've been told by the "organic mattress store" that over time natural latex slightly hardens, so keep that in mind too. Comfort: With the mattress AND topper combined, this mattress makes the old "medium" firm organic mattress I owned previously feel like a cement block! For the amount spent, I couldn't be happier. I am almost in disbelief at the cost being so cheap for such a quality product. Smell: There is an earthy smell, almost like sheep's wool. Some don't like this smell, but to me it doesn't smell toxic or dangerous. It is the usual smell of natural latex and I actually kinda like it! If you don't like it, I imagine it could be covered up with heavy blankets, but maybe buy a small natural rubber product and smell that first to be sure you're okay with sleeping on something that has that odor. Weight/Durability: This is a solid mattress (not broken up into separate twins like the organic mattress store sold me). The downside is it is more awkward to move, but comfort is superior without a split down the middle. It is certainly thinner than traditional boxsprings and comes in a zipper jacket for washing. My previous organic mattress has held up very well, and I don't see any reason this one won't last a lifetime. The best part to natural latex is it's a very solid design that won't degrade easily. You're buying a fat chunk of rubber! Overall, if you purchase this mattress with the topper, I think most will be happy. On it's own, if you're heavy set like me, it might be a little thin and soft to where you might feel the surface below. If you're under 200 LBS, then perhaps the mattress alone without a topper might work. I like toppers though as you can swap them out really easily and they protect the mattress underneath. ... show more

  • ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The most supportive and comfortable mattress ever
Size: Queen
This mattress was perfect straight out of the box. It only needed about an hour to unfold and was ready to use right away. Even without a full night’s sleep on it yet, it already feels absolutely perfect. The body feels supported in all the right places. It’s firm in the best way — sturdy and grounding, yet soft and incredibly comfortable. Some reviews mentioned a smell, but to me it’s earthy and pleasant — not chemical or off-putting at all. The 2 inch soft topper and organic cotton cover make it even better. The materials feel solid and high quality, and everything about it feels thoughtfully made. For anyone looking for a mattress that feels amazing from the start and is made with care, this one is absolutely worth it. Truly one of the best purchases in years. ... show more
