Made of Organic Latex Foam, Organic Cotton and Organic New Zealand Wool, the Pure Green Mattress marks a new standard in Latex Mattresses. The Sleep On Latex design team carefully crafted this natural latex mattress for comfort, beauty, durability, and ease of use! This is mattress is GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified organic by Oregon Tilth (License Number OT-034423). The firm mattress is great for stomach sleepers and those who prefer sleeping on a very firm surface. It is very strong and supportive but has just enough give to help alleviate pressure points. At the base of the mattress is a 6" layer of Pure Green 100% natural latex foam. This 6" base layer provides a very strong, supportive and durable base. On top of the base, a softer, yet still very supportive 2" comfort layer of Pure Green 100% natural latex foam adds a pinch of softness to the surface of the mattress. Together these two pieces combine to provide a mattress which is both comfortable and supportive. Wool is quilted into the mattress cover, adding extra height and comfort. In 2015 we set out to design our natural latex mattress. It had to be made with natural components... It had to be extremely comfortable and durable... It had to come as one complete piece with no assembly required... It had to be of the highest quality... The result of this process is the Pure Green Mattress. The Pure Green Mattress is manufactured in our Chicago factory from natural latex foam, organic wool and organic cotton. We never use any cheap components. No polyurethane foam. No polyester fabric. No polyester fill. No fire retardants. Just natural goodness! Our mattress is designed, quilted, sewn, assembled and packaged in our Chicago factory. We design, quilt, sew, assemble and package our products in our Chicago factory. This gives us complete control over the quality of our products. We use only the highest quality components. All of the fabric used in our mattress is GOTS Certified 100% organic cotton. Our latex foam is made with natural latex harvested from organically grown rubber trees in Sri Lanka and is GOLS certified (Global Organic Latex Standard). Our mattress is shipped as one complete piece. No assembly required. Assembling a mattress from multiple pieces of heavy latex foam is extremely difficult. Latex foam can tear if not handled properly, the cover can be hard to zip and the foam will shift around giving the mattress an "unfinished" look. Our mattress arrives fully assembled, ensuring optimal appearance and functionality. We use only our own internationaly known Pure Green Latex in our mattress. Pure Green Latex foam is the highest quality natural latex on the planet. Pure Green latex foam was developed in conjunction with our Sri Lankan natural latex foam factory. Pure Green latex foam is made with natural latex (latex from trees) and never contains any synthetic latex (latex from petrochemicals). It is certified to meet several stringent international textile emmisions standards. It has been engineered to the highest performance and asethetic standards in the business. Organic Wool provides our mattress with an outstanding micro-climate. Wool also has natural fire resistant properties and provides our mattress with a natural fire barrier. This allows our mattress to pass federal fire regulations without the use fire retardant chemicals or fire barrier cloths. Our wool is sourced from organic farms that maintain humane animal standards. Free range sheep are graze on organic land and are not routinely treated with antibiotics, wormers or pesticides. Organic wool meets strict requirements on toxicity and biodegradability. Our cover contains two layers of organic cotton. The fabrics on the coutside of the mattress are 100% organic cotton. Our quiltbacking is also 100% organic cotton. Many other mattress manufacturers (even those selling "organic mattresses") use cheap polypropelene quiltbacking. Polypropelene is a cheap synthetic fabric which has little stretch and makes the mattress less comfortable. Organic cotton much better for the environment, being grown without the use of toxic pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. Organic cotton meet strict requirements on toxicity and biodegradability.

To deal with back pain I needed to get a new mattress. I didn’t like the squishy Tempur-pedic mattress I’d been using and I wanted a mattress that would work with my heated mattress pad. I’ve purchased latex mattresses in the past and know they are comfortable and last forever with normal use. The mattress arrived a little late, but the company was good about letting me know about the delay. It arrived by Fed-Ex, and I’m honestly surprised the guy got it up my porch stairs. I ordered a full-sized mattress folks which came to 120 lbs. Don’t underestimate that weight. I ended up having to hire two strong guys to get it to my 2nd floor bedroom. The vendor allows for returns after a trial period, but how the heck would you get it back to them? It arrives compressed and rolled up for easy set up. And I imagine the cost of return shipping would be substantial. So if you buy this mattress, be prepared to commit to the purchase. I didn’t notice a smell coming off the mattress, but that’s partially because this is natural latex. I used it from day one and, once I got used to having a firm mattress again, I like it a lot. It’s easier to roll over in bed opposed to my prior Tempur-pedic mattress. I feel like my back pain has lessened, although I’m also doing other things to address that problem, and I think that I sleep better. I know that this mattress will last me as long as I want it, and I’ll probably be able to hand it down to my family. Consumer Reports rated this mattress highly, and I agree with them. While not bargain basement, the price was better than comparable natural latex mattresses. I recommend this item.

Great Mattress; You should probably get a medium directly from them

I purchased a Firm 9" King on Amazon and ended up exchanging it for a Medium 9" King. This was an upgrade for an 8 year old beautyrest pillowtop. PROs: 1. If you buy directly from the Sleep On Latex website, shipping is RIDICULOUSLY fast. I placed my order around 10am and had it in my home around lunch the next day. (I live two states away from their HQs). 2. If isolation, heat dissipation, or uniformity throughout the mattress are anywhere near the top of your priority list, you won't find a better mattress type than natural latex. CON: 1. Natural latex makes for impressively heavy mattresses. Handles would help a lot but they aren't possible if you think about it. If you attach handles using a strap that passes through the mattress then you negatively impact comfort. If you just glue or sew handles to the outside wool/cotton cover then you risk ripping the cover due to the weight. Because this is kind of a no win situation, I won't deduct any stars because I agree with the decision to let moving the mattress be a pain in order to avoid non-latex internal components. SUBJECTIVE: 1. The firm mattress we got through amazon was truly very firm. I would liken the firmness to being slightly firmer than a good air mattress that is inflated to the point of nearly popping. 2. The 2nd mattress we got directly through Sleep On Latex is great for my family who are predominantly back sleepers but spend a lot of time on our sides as we're falling asleep. 3. As mentioned in the product description, the latex is covered by a New Zealand wool and cotton cover. The 2nd mattress we got did have a veeeeery slight 'barn' smell from the wool when you put your nose close to it. It was mostly gone after a week. My wife and I actually found it to be a pleasant smell. THE PURCHASE AND RETURN/EXCHANGE PROCESS: So I would recommend buying directly from Sleep on Latex. I'm generally a hardcore prime user but in this case, using Amazon is actually more inconvenient. If you buy through Amazon and decide to use their 100-day guarantee, you'll be asked to start a standard return request through amazon. Then Sleep On Latex gives you the option to donate the mattress to a charity and send them proof you did so or they can arrange for a charity to come pick it up. They don't actually accept the mattress back. Then, if you want to 'exchange' for a different size or firmness, you'll have to start a brand new order. If you use their website instead of Amazon, then this 2-step refund then re-purchase process is streamlined to just asking for an exchange. I will also add that sleep on Latex was very prompt with having the charity come the next day to pickup the mattress and issuing a refund that evening.

Using on an adjustable base, feedback & tips

Comfort is excellent. Some give, not too warm (latex tends to be cooler than memory foam), great comfort for my personal jigsaw spine. Fits well and moves fine with an adjustable base in the twin xl size. HEAVY so have a few folks available to assist in moving, setup and placement once received at your domicile. Helpful hint; DO NOT open until you get the mattress to the room where you will be placing it. It EXPANDS! Also be prepared for the "crescent roll can" style of the mattress popping open when you unwind the kraft paper that compresses it for shipping. Can be startling to some folks...Not dangerous by any means, just startling... As always, I'll be back with further feedback, should it be warranted. Hopefully I have helped in your selection of mattresses; so much "marketing" out there... 07052023 In use for over four months. Still very comfortable. One suggestion as latex mattresses can run warm compared to traditional mattresses; Get a Cool Buddy, Bed Jet or other type of bed cooling unit of your choice to make this mattress (and your sleep) even better. Maintaining the optimum temperature during sleep is a great way to increase the depth and effectiveness of the sleep that your body needs to function at its peak at all times. Proper sleep is key, even with the various "bodily defects" that we acquire as we age. Hope this helps YOU! 10252023 This mattress is still great. Sleeping well. I cannot emphasize enough how a GREAT mattress, like this one, coupled with any reliable hydronic bed cooling device effects deep/REM sleep. Just what I was looking for - updated

I ordered this mattress because my husband has back issues and was advised to purchase a firm mattress. I liked that it was natural latex. It arrived in a pretty battered box but the mattress itself was fine. I could have used another person to bring it inside but it was possible to do it myself. The smell was different but much better than smelling toxic fumes. To me, it smelled like a brand new tennis ball and we've had it just over a month and I can hardly smell it anymore. Compared to our old mattress that was too soft, this feels totally different and it took a little bit to get used to but I am enjoying it. We are no longer rolling to the center of the bed, sleeping in a "hole". The mattress has felt cool to me, I can't sleep if I'm too hot, so that has been great. We're still out on if it has helped my husband's back issues. Update: just moved and this mattress is almost impossible to move without looking ridiculous. It’s SO HEAVY and floppy that we had to fold the mattress in half with ratchet straps and carry it like a 500 lb burrito

The firm is definitely firm

I'm only two nights in, but I'm already loving this. I ordered a firm 'cuz I'm a big guy (6'2", 240) and a side sleeper who has never been truly comfortable, except on an air mattress, but the price of those is simply insane. Tried several foam types, but they all lie, both about sleeping cool and not developing significant sagging. The foam is also an ecological catastrophe, before and after, and you get all of that delightful off-gassing of petro-chemical goodness to envelope you all night. Yeah, I'll pass. Now the latex is very different, and I'd suggest trying one out at a local store if you can, 'cuz they may not be to your liking, but I can tell already that this one is not going to sag and fail the way my padt inner spring & foam mattresses have. I may yet need to add some sort of topper, but given the lack of chemical stink and worry that the latex provides, I'll be back to try one of their toppers next. My wife is tiny (5'6", 110) and she is definitely not a fan, but she is the literal embodiment of the princess and the pea. Still, I think a soft latex topper may convince her (we have a split king w/ articulating bases, so we can each pick what we like). Speaking of which, the latex also works great with my articulating bed frame. They absolutely are heavy, but I just flipped it end over end to get it up the stairs and onto the frame. Then I carefully cut off the box and began to unwrap the yards of brown paper that keeps it rolled up. You absolutely want to do that in place 'cuz trying to wrangle this bad boy by yourself once it's open would be akin to what I expect handling a dead body would be like. A side benefit of its weight is that the bottom sheet stays put, even with my nightly manipulations of the articulating bed frame. All in all, and especially for this money, I could not be happier, but I warn again, when they say firm, this mattress really is, so you may want to err on the side of ordering a step down from what you may be used to with the foam and inner spring alternatives

I hope this helps others like me, who are researching which mattress to buy. I didn't want to try out 2-3 mattress and deal with the return process, that takes time, money, and energy. Straight to the point, this is a wonderful bed. I cannot recommend it enough. For Context, we were leaning towards purchasing hybrid beds in the $2-3k range from various brands. I'm 165lbs and the wife weighs less. We both sleep on our back/side/stomach. We have a platform bed frame, no box spring. In my opinion this mattress needs to be paired with a topper. otherwise, I liken it to laying on a yoga mat on a hard floor. However, once paired with their soft 2-inch topper, and I think this is a 9/10 combination. We don't sink in, still get the support from the mattress underneath, but with just enough give/comfort/plushness. I think the 1-inch topper would be too little, and the 3-inch would change the characteristics of the mattress too much. I know they sell a med-firm mattress, but I read recent discussions that it maybe a toss up on which revision/material combination you'll get. I didn't want to take that chance, and I figured, you can always make a bed softer, it's a lot harder to make a bed firmer. This bed it great for Sex. We do not sink into this bed, regardless of position. We now have the support we need without having to use/adjust a bunch of pillows. We don't feel or notice when the other gets in/out of the bed and we don't get hot on this mattress/topper compared to our old memory foam mattress. We both snore less and are no longer sore when we wake up. Lastly, we got their pillows, and they are very comfortable. The mattress/topper alone made our crappy pillows better, but we prefer them over our older Tempur-Pedic symphony pillows. This mattress is almost 150 pounds, I recommend you have someone help you set it up, if possible. All in all, we love it.

I Recommend a Topper

This mattress is one of the firmest foam mattresses I could find on Consumer Reports, and it had the highest rating of any comparably firm mattress. I chose it because of the support that firm mattresses provide, but as a side sleeper, I didn't realize how important it is to have a layer of very soft material to relieve pressure points. Not the fault of the mattress at all. It is advertised as firm, and it perfectly lives up to its promise. I purchased a Tempur-Pedic 3 inch memory foam topper to compliment this mattress, and the combination of the incredibly comforting memory foam with the firm support from this mattress has been a delight. I work from home, and spend most days in bed on my computer providing remote support, so it's very important to me that the mattress be not only comfortable, but durable. And I'm confident based on the reviews and the testing from Consumer Reports that this mattress will hold up for years to come. I'm extremely happy with this mattress, and look forward to sleep at night because it's so relaxing and comfortable. I highly recommend adding a thick foam topper if you are a side sleeper, and probably at least a thin one for back sleepers. I think stomach sleepers would enjoy this as is, because it supports your hips when you lay on your stomach. I will update if I have any problems in the future.

High quality materials, no hollow after 2.5 months👍

Had a temper pedic felt great for couple months but it sagged very fast! No support once sagged after 2 months it went from firm to soft. We had been using this latex matress for years and it is still very firm!! In fact their firm too firm still. So firm that we wanted a bit softer as we bought firm thinking that it would soften as the temporpedic did. It did seem to break in a little bit but after years its still uncomfortably firm. GREAT FOR SUPPORT if u have a flat back! They stand by their product with one free return within 100 days. But as we didnt want to return it still thinking it would break in we just augment it and saw no reason to cost the company for replacing and shipping cost we asked if they would share the cost of a topper to make it a bit softer. They promptly replied and agreed to credit us after we bought the topper we chose, and they recommended 2"-3" soft to soften it a bit. We didnt need it to be much softer (we thought) so we got the 2" and sent them the order number. They then credited us 1/2 the cost as they promised. They were prompt and the topper came very fast. We unzipped the matress cover and installed the topper in it, it softened it up a bit but you still dont sink in much. The perimiter of the mattress seems a bit firmer than the center tilting you toward the middle a bit, and there was a lump in our matress however we put it under our legs and dont even feel it much that way. U dont sink in like a temperpedic sadly. But u also can move freely and role bounce a bit and feel lots of support! Its very different.. So far i think its worth much, much more than a temporpedic as temperpedic firm matress was such a let down softening to painful in 1 year, but if i could reccomend one thing is to get a softer grade than u think u want as this is a much fermer material than you may have experiance with. Also this company responds promptly and works with you to make your buying experiance a positive one for us they were very good to work with. i would have no problem recomending them. - value i feel should get 4 stars - coolness similar to temperpedic. Possibly a touch warmer, but its been a while. - durability light years better than temperpedic, but im pretty sure this will stand the test of time based on the fact that since the first week it seems as if it hasnt changed at all and by this time temporpedic had a hollow that was deeper where u slept forcing u to keep breaking it down in the same spot as it got softer and this mattress u cant tell where u slept formerly. U wouldnt know it wasnt brand new its consistant no hollows from use👍 huge deal! Organic and we didnt notice any objectionable sent. Unless u are very sensitive or get a dud its not an issue especially if u put a matress protector on it to protect your investment. And its required for most warrantees. All and all two thumbs up (if u can get used to its firmness)👍👍. Its not pirfect and its definately difficult to transition to ive not been able to get comfortable as its just too fermented. And a bridge too far. after years now I regret not having them send the softer mattress as its uncomfortably firm. but it seems to be an exceptional product for a very resonable price if u can figure out what your body needs. It will feel the way it does after a couple weeks of break in for a long time,(and thats probably just your body adapting) so fair warning, if it feels too firm get a softer version. If it feels uncomfortable because its a different technology, it just may not be what your back likes... they always said if u have a bad back get a firm mattress... but maybe not their firm.. lol.😅
