Natural Latex Foam is a comfortable, durable and breathable material that is the perfect addition to the top of any mattress. We designed the Pure Green Natural Latex Mattress Topper to capture and enhance the best qualities of natural latex foam. It is made with the purest formulation possible through a superior production process and is certified under internationally recognized health and environmental standards. In 2013 we introduced The Pure Green Natural Latex Foam Mattress Topper. We made the topper with natural latex (harvested from rubber trees), no synthetic latex (made from petrochemicals) and manufactured it to the highest aesthetic and performance standards. Over the years, we obtained several certifications to ensure and verify the safety of the topper. Our mattress topper will probably last longer than the mattress you use it on top of. Breathability - Natural Latex Foam is heat neutral. It will not absorb body heat or change firmness depending on the temperature. Latex foam is an open-celled foam and contains tiny air chambers that run throughout the foam. These air chambers allow the air to flow freely through the topper. While a latex foam topper can not always make a bed cooler, a 2"-3" topper can serve as a great buffer between your body and a hot memory foam (or polyurethane foam) mattress. We produce our foam using natural latex harvested from organically grown rubber trees; we never use any synthetic latex in our foam. We also never use any fillers. The use of fillers lowers the cost to produce latex foam but comprises the foam's performance qualities. It is challenging to maintain cosmetic and performance consistency when manufacturing natural latex foam. Unlike synthetic materials, which always have the exact same composition, the composition of natural latex harvested from rubber trees continually changes slightly with the weather and seasons. Absolutely the best! I’m already sold on natural latex as I have king pillows which are already decades old and still the most comfortable. I took them on vacation, to the hospital and for car trips; just change /wash the zippered covers and they’ll last many years. So when I decided to get a new topper - had a Martha Stewart memory foam topper that had started to flatten and crater - I began my research. I have a perfectly good Beautyrest mattress but it just isn’t cushy enough by itself. Honestly, after looking on Amazon for toppers, I found that toppers came in 100% latex! When I learned this I knew my new topper had to be organic latex. I came upon the Pure Green brand which offered the 3” in firm with a cover; perfect! It arrived in just a few days and my grandson put it on for me. Very heavy, about 50lbs for a King. I added my pure wool sheepskin cover over it which I’ve been using for 25 years - keeps me warm in winter and cool in summer. Over that, my deep fit, Ralph Lauren organic cotton fitted sheet in the sateen weave which I’ve had for 10+ years and my Muslin Comfort 365 blanket - I can’t even explain what a perfect sleep experience I’ve had this past week. (I mention the brands in case someone wants to try to duplicate.) I have a bad hip and sleep on my opposite side which was causing shoulder pain and hip pain all night long until I bought this topper. While I still have hip pain and will until the drs deem it necessary to replace, the topper cradles me all night long and alleviates the pressure pains associated with side sleeping. The smooth sheet and firmness of the topper give me that ahhh feeling every time I get into my bed. The latex is firm yet forgiving and bouncy. I don’t sink into it like memory foam; it’s just supportive and comfortable. My next purchase is going to be the latex body pillow to put between my knees and then the latex pad to add to my rocking chair. I might add a topper to my van bed too, so I can take my sleep experience with me on the road. Before I’m finished the Pure Green folks will be planting my very own forest of trees! This mattress topper saved my body during my pregnancy! It is firm and very supportive - excellent for side sleeping. It is a little hard to move as it is heavy and awkward, but that means it doesn’t shift while you’re sleeping, which is great. Also keep in mind that you could pull off pieces of the foam if you’re grabbing it too close to the edge while moving it. There was an odor when we first opened it, but that mostly faded after leaving it rolled out and outside for a day. But the support that this topper offered outweighs the little quirks. A great solution for those who can’t afford a whole new mattress or for couples who prefer different levels of mattress firmness. ... show more

If you are looking to baby jump into trying organic bedding but don't want to spend $900 on your first small mattress, try this first. This is Dunlap latex and most will love it. It is a medium firm feel. I'm very, very sensitive.... times 10. I have an IKEA Harlanda sectional with a pull out queen so I can sleep downstairs when having surgeries. I couldn't manage the chemical smells on non organic mattresses. So, I didn't have a mattress in it for many months. Pricing organic latex sofa mattresses was $849 minimum, and not reasonable for us. I started looking for a thick firm topper that would work. Max space thickness I can use is 4 3/4" on pull out bed and 3" was the thickest topper I could find. This was my first purchase and I added the organic cotton cover. Otherwise it's just the latex. It fit the pull out and is working as a mattress just fine enough to do the job but if there were unlimited funds I would have bought a firmer proper sleeper mattress. I will need to get a sofa board to put under couch cushions when it's put away as the gap of 1 3/4" allow my cushion to sink just a noticeable amouny. But at $349 I think I paid, I saved a ton on a pull out organic latex mattress without chemicals. The organic cotton cover available with this is beautiful and super soft, even after washing. The latex is heavy for me so 2 people are best to put on, remove it, unless you have lots of time, muscles and patience. You can do it alone, but highly advise against it. This was a great purchase for this purpose. Never buying latex before, I wasn't sure what to expect. To me, as I'm super sensitive, it had a smell to me that does air out and go away eventually. Most don't smell anything, or a slight rubber smell that doesn't bother them. I did have to air it out several months for it to not bother me, but you may not need to. I have been told Dunlap latex has more smell than talalay latex and that Dunlap latex is a firmer feel than talalay. That is why I tried this Dunlap latex. Id recommend this for a mattress topper and for what I did, although on a couch bed it would be perfect it it were a bit firmer. I have also purchased an organic Dunlap latex, cotton, wool mattress and that one took way longer to air out and smelled way more to us because we can't remove the layers of the real full mattress to help it air out. I've been told you can ask a company for a latex slab to be aired out longer but imnnot awarenifnthis company can or eill. It's worth asking, and letting us know. However, this topper here, is great quality, great sponginess as expected, and really truly is organic without any chemicals. If you are the small percentage of those who truly would get sick to the smell in a new tire store, maybe look for wool and cotton only toppers. But please, try this as the warranty is wonderful to feel comfort in purchasing this. Remember that in any of my 4 out of 5 stars is a rating based on using this as a sole mattress on a pull out sofa. ... show more

Size: Queen Style: 2" Topper
I have a very sensitive sense of smell. Odors just bother me, stress me out, and cause headaches sometimes. So after researching all types of mattresses and toppers, I chose to try this 2 inch firm topper, first. I am a single mom on a budget, who lives up a flight of stairs. Delivery, return, price, and product weight options are significant to me, just as much as overall comfort. Had to make my choice very carefully. Returning this thing would be a huge hassle for me. They do offer returns within 30 days, so I wouldn't be stuck with it, but I didn't want to try and put it back in a box, take it downstairs, and possibly to a mailroom, either. (I was able to get the box upstairs, end over end flipping) Once opened, the odor was very strong, I had a sore throat from it within minutes. I placed the topper on my bed, left the windows open and the fan on, and moved all of bedding to the living room. There is no guest bedroom, so i was going to have to endure this part the hard way, by sleeping on the living room sofa for a week. Wanted to give this topper every chance I could, without making myself ill. I asked a question about the odor in the questions section here, and received many replies, varying from people saying the smell never went away, and they hate it, to other saying they never smelled a thing. The company replied with recommending I leave the windows closed, as it was cold out, and let the topper air out at room temp. If the odor remained after a week or two, I should contact them for further evaluating. For a week I opened the windows during the day, when it was 60-70 degrees and very windy. Kept a fan on the topper, and closed the windows at night when the temp dropped. I also became concerned that the odor wasn't going away fast enough, and sprinkled dry baking soda all over each side, letting each side sit with the baking soda for over 24 hours. Vacuuming it out of the topper was a chore, with all the little holes that don't go all the way through the topper, but with aid of the vacuum brush attached to the hose it was doable, pressing in each set of holes, it took awhile. ( Flipping it alone did not remove all the baking soda from the holes, oddly enough. ) Maybe it wasn't important, but I'm detail oriented. After a week or so I noticed that when the windows were shut, and the fan was off, I didn't notice the odor as strongly. ( The baking soda made a big difference, imo ) So I made the leap of faith, and began making the bed. ** I had ordered another topper, a 2 inch thick, pure cotton pillowtop topper, to place on this firm one. I did this because I knew that if the natural latex did in fact have an odor, I could have a layer of something between my nose and the latex, being a stomach and side sleeper. Also, I thought I may need something soft, if the firmness was too much for sleeping on my side.** So I placed a waterproof cover, and extra bottom sheet directly on the topper, (as I did not order the cover for the topper) then the cotton topper, then my sheets. My poor mattress is 10 years old, it is innerspring, has dips and valleys, so it was rotated to start with, but the point of all of this was to not replace it, as I just can't afford it right now. It has caused me a lot of back pain, and I needed some relief. The firm, 2 inch, natural latex topper from Sleep On Latex was the right choice for me, in the end. Despite the off gassing period, and having to give up my room for a week. I still smell it from time to time, when I roll over and air moves through the layers, but it does not bother me. In fact, I tried to remain positive throughout the entire process, so my brain was never THAT upset over it, in the first place. Now I almost enjoy the odor, it brings comfort because it smells like my *new* bed, and my bed is a good thing, it's my sacred space. Side sleeping is awesome with this set up. I weigh 180, I'm 5'3. The dip in the center of the innerspring mattress can still be detected when i sleep on my stomach, there is still pain, and a may place something between the innerspring and the plywood it sits on, to tweek it. But I find i'm naturally sleeping on my side more often, sleeping through the night, not tossing and turning in pain. Not waking up stiff, sore and barely able to walk. I will sleep 8 hours now, without waking, except to flip sides once or twice. I sleep with two dogs, they have not had any bad reactions, or breathing issues with the new set up. The firm topper alone feels awesome, and I may switch to just using it own its own. If i had ordered it in 3 inch, I may not feel the dip of the innerspring at all, but I can't get too much higher, or I won't be able to get sheets on the bed. I just decided on the soft topper, as well, instead for now. Maybe one day i will order another firm topper in 1 inch, and remove the soft one. bottom line is now I have something to work with, and I can finally sleep in comfort. I give 4 stars because nothing is perfect, but this is close to it, for what it is. Also... no odor triggered migraines! try not to stress!! ... show more

Finally, we found the perfect topper. After researching several other toppers looking for the firm topper we felt we needed, we found one that works for both my husband and myself. Our situation? Both of us have degenerative discs...me in the neck requiring cervical fusion of 4 vertebrae and other discs that are just plain wearing out due to arthritis and age. My husband also has back issues...scoliosis due to a mild case of polio and disc issues in lumbar area plus shoulder pain, arthritis and assorted aches and pains of getting older. We're retired, in our latest 60s and both would benefit from losing some excess weight. Sleeping at night was uncomfortable to say the least. We replaced our mattress but wanted to keep it in good condition so we. bought a memory foam mattress topper at Costco and put it on the bed to start with. It began to show signs of flattening and not being supporative out after about 2-3 years. Replaced it with another brand at Costco and that one too began to do the same. The mattress had never been without a topper on it & it was in great condition so we tried sleeping without the topper. The bed felt great, firm and no aches or pains in the mornings. But we still wanted to protect our mattress from eventually sagging so the search was on for a different topper. We searched website after website for "the best topper for back pain"...and learned a great deal about the different materials and types of toppers. Density varies greatly too...2-3lb density is softer and 4-5 lbs firmer. Memory foam is the most readily available kind of topper, also the least expensive and to us they seem to offer the least support. We did purchase a "layered topper" of 4lb density on top with 5lb density underneath, ILD of 19 I think. Tested it out for less than 15 minutes and returned it the same day. Felt like we were being sucked into a marshmallow. That was supposed to be firm? More research taught us that latex is much firmer and lasts longer than memory foam with less if any "cratering" where you lay on it. There are two types of latex toppers, one (talalay) that is about 40% latex and the rest is fibers and other man made materials other is Dunlop. They are different methods of how the toppers are made. 100% latex is more supportive, no odor, and of course more expensive. Yep, you really do get what you pay for. We decided that 100% natural latex was what we wanted and Firm was what we needed. More research lead us to Pure Green. I spoke to Jennifer in their customer support and she inquired about our specific needs and gave us recommendations. We decided on the 2" firm topper that has a density of 5.9lbs and an ILD rating of 44. I'm so glad we did. It is firm, but it still cushions our hips and shoulders. Not being sucked down into the topper like with memory foam and we both wake up feeling about as good as 67 years old gets! One caution...this sucker is heavy!!! King sized must be around 50 lbs....the stickers on the box that say HEAVY Cautiion Lifting aren't just there because they are pretty (although they are).     • This mattress topper has changed my life - 10 years of back pain gone in 2 weeks!
I had been suffering lower back, peritoneal, hip and neck pain that was getting worse day by day for the past several years. It was always worst in the mornings getting out of bed with twisting and bending both painful. I tried sit-ups, back rolls and sleeping on a yoga mat. All helped a little bit, but it would be back to square one every morning. Amazon showed me an ad for a great sale on a TempurPedic topper and this got me thinking and researching. I had tried TempurPedics and they always slept way too hot for me. Some cursory reviews of sleep quality websites suggested latex as being good for back pain. I'm a 50 y/o male, 5'11, 180 lbs and purchased a queen-sized 3" firm topper w/ cover. I have an 8 year-old BeautyRest Luxury Firm with Gel and Memory foam which doesn't seem like it should be old. The topper came rolled up with the cover already on. It was indeed heavy, but pretty easy to unroll once on my bed. The first night, the topper was like an exercise gym. People have noted that the latex is like a spring or like Jell-o. It is both in that it bounces back vertically and allows you get a wobble going laterally. As others have noted it really does feel like you are floating and the topper pushes back everywhere. The energy of the topper makes it so you can fix two or three points of your body and get some motion going to target and work out any muscle or joint. I could feel the sore spots from different insults to my back over the years from lifting weights the wrong way to walking in bad shoes to pinching a nerve once when sneezing to strongly. It definitely seemed like things were off to a good start. The second night more tweaking, adjusting and aligning, but somewhat less. By the first three days I could definitively say that my routine of morning pain way on a very likely trajectory of going away. By the first week I was getting out of bed with near zero pain. It's been 3 weeks now and it has been pretty much steady progress. I told someone and they were somewhat skeptical and said they would ask again in another 3 weeks... I sleep mostly on my back, but also spend time on my sides and stomach. I have started sleeping without a pillow when on my back as this allows me to work out my neck the best. When researching, I was worried that firm might be too much for a side sleeper. Firm is perfect and still has plenty of give for side sleeping. Stomach sleeping is awesome and I can also use my laptop on my stomach comfortably. It's also more comfortable than before when sitting upright against a backrest (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0792QJBMT) to use my laptop on a stand (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08HLSRXD1). Go with firm if you have any sort of back issues. I had a little soreness in my elbows and knees the first couple nights, but this has gone away completely. The firm also seems to be good for general circulation in my lower legs. When deciding what to purchase I came so close to purchasing a 2" from one of the dozens of websites that sell similar toppers. I was fortunately able to cancel my purchase when I found out that I could get a 3" for less and that it had a return option. Reading online, there are only a few manufacturers of latex globally, so even though one mattress manufacturer may tell you that their foam is better, they are probably all getting it from the same sources. The Pure Green website is quite good and their blogs and FAQs have useful info. Pure Green was one of the few companies to provide careful detail on how they measure ILD firmness numbers. I was debating over Dunlop vs. Talalay as Talalay sounded better. I somehow thought that Talalay might have fewer odor issues because it is manufactured differently by injecting CO2. Apparently it is the blended/synthetic latex made from petrochemicals that has more odor potential and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) while organic carries much less odor potential. There was a small odor to this topper in the first couple days, but really only when you have your nose right up to it. I am quite sensitive to annoying smells and the odor is virtually zero and a non-issue after a week or two. Also, Talalay is supposed to potentially be more breathable and cooler than Dunlop. I have found this topper to be sleep super cool, even cooler than my BeautyRest with gel. So while Talalay could potentially even be cooler, it should not be a big decision factor. Dunlop is supposed to have better firmness, stability and durability than Talalay. Dunlop uses more Latex than Talay, so the fact that manufacturers are willing to do this from a cost perspective suggests value in Dunlop. One quote that made me think was, "Dunlop Latex, not watered down Talalay Latex!". The thing that clenched the decision was reading about complaints of an uncomfortable glued seam right down the middle of a queen-sized topper. Talalay is limited in the size they can manufacture, so anything above a twin will include these glued seams (two for a king-sized apparently). I still want to try out Talalay someday though... On decision of 3" or 2", after reading the reviews, 3" is generally preferred and some people had regrets about 2", so spending a little extra for 3" was a no-brainer. For cover or no cover, there are some 3rd party covers, but not significantly cheaper. 3rd party comes with risks of not fitting, etc. One review mentioned that latex can tear easily and that a cover is very hard to get on, so given the fact that they ship this with the cover on, it seemed like a good idea. One thing I contemplated was a no-spill mattress cover. There is some risk that spittle (especially when sleeping without a pillow) and other fluids could get easily absorbed by the latex. They make them pretty thin and undetectable these days. Maybe later. One review suggested deep fitted sheets to go with the topper. I bought a set of 24"-depth microfiber sheets for $20 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SYVSX6C) and have been quite happy with them. They are a little thin, but cool and comfy. I am super grateful to the manufacturers and sellers of this mattress topper. It has really been a game changer for my back and overall health. You can't go wrong. Just buy it! ... show more

This was the 3rd mattress topper that I tried. And the only one that I did not wake up with a backache. It is firm so I tried a 2 inch memory foam topper on top of it and my backache returned. After a week of sleeping on the new firm topper, it gets a little softer and still no backache. So I am very happy with my purchase…. much cheaper than buying a new mattresses! ... show more

I bought the Queen 3in "firm" topper. It's advertised as, well, firm. It's also said that for those suffering from back pain due to sleeping on something softer would find some relief here. In fact, after two nights of sleeping on this, the back pain has actually gotten significantly worse. I actually had a bad feeling about it when I first unboxed it and pushed my hand into the latex. The "give" was very obvious, and my hand sunk in without much force. And then after laying on it throughout the night, it not only didn't provide any comfort or maintain the status quo of the pain, it actually made it worse - I'm presuming it's because it made the mattress softer, not firmer. I'm not sure why this product is reviewed so highly - maybe I got a defective one? Or despite it saying "firm" I was sent the incorrect firmness? Either way, trust is broken, this does not do as advertised, and I've started the return process on this product, which is ANNOYING because no one wants to return a mattress or a topper. I'm supposed to somehow get this to fit in its original packaging for a UPS pickup tomorrow? God be with me. One last thing to note for the unwary - if you do buy this product, get the version that comes with the cover. Because this is latex, putting a bedsheet on it is a nightmare.
