Enjoying the new humidifier. It's more compact than I was expecting and quite stylish. While the water tank is smaller than expected, it was still emitting vapor in the morning. The remote is easy to use and has a great set of options. The vapor is less dense than my previous humidifier but still met its intended purpose. I think due to the lighter vapor rate, the heated vapor was not notably warm. Happy with my purchase nonetheless.

This is to clear a big misconception about this product. It is NOT any more messy than any other humidifier out there. I ran it to empty and, just as I expected, the bottom reservoir had drained down an inch or so past the top so that the water basin could be removed without getting water everywhere. I suspect the reviewers who said that the bottom reservoir was full of water tried to change out the water prematurely. If you let the thing humidify until it shuts down, then you can safely change the water without making a mess. Having said that, I will add that so far this is an outstanding humidifier ... better than all the rest ... and I am VERY picky. It does the number one thing I bought it for ... it has the ability to direct the flow of humidity ... my last one shot the mist straight up, which caused puddles around the unit ... stupid. Plus, this one has a fun humidity indicator. I say FUN because that's what it is for. It is for entertainment purposes and not to be taken seriously. You can't seriously expect a humidity sensor mounted ON A HUMIDIFIER to accurately read the humidity of the room. Yet some people expect that. It is not possible. Think about it. The humidifier is spewing water all over the place. I have a humidity sensor on the other side of the room that tells me what the actual humidity is. So there is another misconception that bites the dust. There is NOTHING WRONG with the humidity sensor on the unit. All it is telling you is "Hey ... I seem to be sitting in a big cloud of moisture!" Lastly, the unit is very quiet, and is the best looking / most stylish humidifier I have found. It does its job perfectly. Build quality is excellent. It's easy to fill. There is a noticeable difference in temperature between the warm and cool mist settings. And it even comes with a remote! How cool is that!

I am a seasonal contractor in Antarctica which is one of the driest places on earth year 'round. I normally work at McMurdo Station where the humidity averages somewhere in the 20's I think. Recently, I spent one month at the geographic South Pole where the average humidity inside was 16 percent and lower outside. There was a small Pure Enrichment humidifier in my room there, and I liked it so much that I ordered the Pure Enrichment HumeXL Pro Warm and Cool Mist Humidifier for my room in McMurdo where I will be this Winter when the humidity drops even lower. The humidifier arrived in perfect condition despite the rough handling packaged receive from the APO. Set up was easy, I had it going in no time after unpacking and cleaning. Refilling is pretty much hassle- free. I have noticed if I turn the tank over one direction I get more drips than if I turn it the other way. Some water being picked up by the protrusion on the bottom of the tank is understandable due to the design. Operation is straightforward once one familiarizes themself with the icons. I have had some instances where the touch panel buttons do not respond because I expect them to be more sensitive, and then I end up pushing too hard and get a double reaction. For example: I push the power button and it does not go off, so I push again harder and it goes off, but comes right back on. Maybe by pushing harder I am actually hitting it twice. Finding the right pressure for everyone could be a challenge I am sure. Overall, I give it a four out of five. Two reasons it is not a five for me: A. The "handle" on the tank feels far too thin to hold the weight of a full tank. After filling the tank and turning it over, I hold the "handle" with one hand, and guide the side of the tank with the other so I can lower it precisely over the base. When doing this I have heard some plastic cracking in the "handle". I have tried holding the tank in a few different ways, but the handle should be strong enough that one should be able to confidently just use the handle. 2. The Mist Nozzles are fiddly. This is the one complaint I had about the little one I had at the South Pole too. That one I had a really hard time turning. The mist nozzles on my HumeXL do not turn well, and they feel like they could break easily. Also, there has been a fair amount of water in them when I turn the tank over to refill it. I am sure this in condensation getting trapped, but perhaps a more rounded design on the bottom of the mist nozzles would allow for water to drain back to the base and make them easier to turn. I have not taken them off to look at the bottom, but I get the feeling they are flat on bottom, and just sliding around a track. I do have a problem with the white film, but I understand that is because of the water I have available. p.s. If you are curious, the humidistat on the device usually reads 30 percent when I turn it on after several minutes it is usually up to 33ish and after a couple hours can usually get to 41 % or so. I feel it is performing admirably with the environment it is fighting!
