As someone who turned 57, retired long before I planned on it and immediately started a retired lifestyle...I did worry about my cognitive health since I was going from a 24/7 365 emergency support position to....just being a homeowner and dad. Dosage is 1-2 capsules per day. A one-to-two-month supply depending on how you take it. I take 2 capsules a day to see if I have any side effects or benefits from the product and no side effects other than, I am able to sleep wonderfully at night, my stress is gone. Calm sets in all day. Very effective at allowing me to go to the grocery store without a list. My short-term memory seems to enjoy this product. The capsule is small and easy to swallow. No odor. No after taste. Are they a good value for the money? I would have to say that depends. For me they work well enough that after a few weeks I noticed enough benefits to find high value in them. I think it's a case-by-case basis depending upon results for the individual. The ingredients are not things you normally find in supplements that support a healthy cognitive function so I would say you have to try them but within a few weeks you will know if they work for you and if they need to become part of your continuing supplement journey.

As someone who is almost 70 years old, I'm always looking for supplements that may help support brain health and memory. When these became available from Pure, a brand I trust, I decided to give them a try. I had never heard of the ingredients before, so I spent some time researching them. From what I've learned, it can take several months of consistent use before you notice improvements in memory, reduced brain fog, or other cognitive benefits. Because of that, I'm not surprised that I haven't experienced any dramatic changes yet. That said, I do feel like I may be noticing a slight reduction in brain fog, although it's still too early to say for certain. One thing I really appreciate is that these capsules are non-GMO, which is very important to me. They're also easy to swallow, and I haven't experienced any stomach upset, unpleasant aftertaste, or other side effects. For now, I plan to continue taking them and hope that after a few months I'll notice more significant improvements in my memory, mental clarity, and overall well-being. I'm giving these 4 stars because I haven't been taking them long enough to fully evaluate their effectiveness.

Having recently been diagnosed with the Predominantly Inattentive variety of ADHD, I’ve been looking for supplements that offer cognitive support, and my physician suggested I try phosphatidylserine. I’d never even heard of the substance and it took me forever just to write it down, but I found this PS Plus supplement by Pure Encapsulations, a well-respected brand, and decided to give it a try. The capsules contain a phosphatidylserine made from sunflowers, as well as their own blend of fruit and veggie antioxidants. Pure Encapsulations promises that they use quality ingredients that they get from suppliers they trust, then test the final result to make sure they’re precisely what they claim they are. Phosphatidylserine is said to support focus, processing, memory, and overall cognitive function. But is it effective? Yes, at least for me. I was pleasantly surprised (shocked, actually, considering my experience with focus supplements) to discover an increase in both in-the-minute focus and focus stamina over a few hours. This is huge for me, and I’ve been getting more things done lately (and more easily). An added benefit was a nice bump in the quality of my sleep. The change didn’t happen right away, but took a couple of weeks. Absolutely no side effects in my case. Pure Encapsulations PS Plus supplements are not cheap. I only take one capsule a day, so this bottle with 60 easily swallowed capsules lasts two month, but still. Regardless, for me it’s impossible to put a price on getting more of my focus back without resorting to typical ADHD meds, so I’ll continue to take these.

This supplement did seem to help with my ability to recollect what I was doing and focus on tasks for longer periods of time. However, it did not help significantly with executive dysfunction. That said, I found these need to be taken with some amount of fiber or else they caused digestive upset. This is likely due to my sensitivity to sunflower lecithin; if you don't have an issue with this ingredient, then you'll probably be fine with these. Other than the possible digestive issues, I didn't notice any side effects. The capsules were average sized and lacking any off-putting smelliness or flavor, so they were easy to take. This is a good supplement that actually produced noticeable positive effects after using it for a few weeks, which I find impressive for a supplement. I feel like I really can't give this a five star review though, as the price ($97) is incredibly expensive, especially if you are using two capsules a day, as I found to be best. Additionally, I am unsure if the extra ingredients (the "proprietary blend") are of enough benefit to justify how much pricier this is than if you wanted to get just the main ingredient in a more generic version. That said, if you can afford it and think it might benefit you, this is a trustworthy brand and it is certainly worth trying.

I ordered these pills because I suffer from brain fog and it is hard for me to concentrate as my mind is all over the place. I felt like my brain could use as much help as I could give it. This product contains natural ingredients such as blueberry and spinach extracts as well as soy-free phosphatidylserine (the most abundant phospholipid in the brain). Together these ingredients claim to boost brain protection, support healthy cognitive function, learning, memory, and processing capacity. This product is safe for those with allergies as it is free from egg, soy, dairy, peanut, tree nut, wheat, gluten, artificial colors, flavors and sweeteners, coatings and shellacs, GMOs, and unnecessary binders, fillers and preservatives. The directions state to take 1 capsule 1-2 times a day with a meal. I have been taking one capsule a day for a week. The pills are easy to swallow and do not cause any adverse effects. At first, I was skeptical thinking I wouldn’t notice a difference. Not only do I notice everything it claims to do, but I also noticed that I can concentrate more. My mind doesn’t seem to be all over the place. I know the product doesn’t claim to do this, but since taking this pill, I also noticed a relief in my anxiety as well. I have felt more calm and mentally able to handle stress than I have in a while. I am sold on this pill. I wish it wasn’t so expensive. But if I continue to feel this well while taking it, it’ll be worth the money. The bottle comes with 60 capsules - enough for about 2 months.

As with other Pure Encapsulations products, the capsules are easy to swallow. This product is on the expensive side. I have had no side effects. I have had better focus since taking this product. It is effective in helping with focus and calm. Highly recommend.

I purposely gave this supplement a full month before forming an opinion. My results are entirely subjective and non-scientific, so I can't definitively say this supplement alone was responsible for the changes I noticed. During the same period, I also made several lifestyle improvements, including avoiding electronics before bed, getting more consistent sleep, and exercising regularly. I believe those changes have improved my overall health, including my focus and mental clarity. As for memory, I still occasionally forget where I set something down or walk into a room and momentarily forget why I'm there. I didn't notice any significant improvement in those day-to-day memory lapses. Where I did notice a difference was in my ability to stay focused, remain attentive, commit to tasks, and actually complete them. My motivation also seemed to improve. Can I say this supplement alone deserves the credit? No. I think it's been the combination of healthier habits along with adding this supplement to my routine. That said, I do feel the supplement contributed in a positive way. The capsules were easy to swallow, and I experienced no stomach upset or other negative side effects during the month I used them. If you're considering trying Pure Encapsulations PS Plus, I'd also recommend making a few healthy lifestyle changes alongside it. Better sleep, regular exercise, and reducing screen time before bed may do just as much or more and together they may provide the best overall results.
